    Water Temp: 72-75

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Well I guess this lake shuts down on the weekends. Preishing or the uture pro event I was catching our and ive pounders all over the place. Mostly on beds in the south end. However Saturday came and all the spots I had some ished tucked away were gone. Instead I caught about 15-20 ish that measured 10-12 inches. Did manage to ind one quality bedish at 6 pounds and a smaller male at 2 pounds. Weighed in those two and one small 13 inch ish to have a total o 9+ pounds. Did have one heart pounding moment when I thought I caught the biggest bass o my lie, but it ended up being a 15 pound catish. Isn't that great or the nerves with 15 minutes let in the tournament.
    City: ALamo

Tips: Well during the week I ished beds and around docks. Senkos and tubes. Try topwater in the morning and a rog here or there. The ish seem to be all around the spawn or post-spawn modes. And you can ish or catish with tubes now.

Water Temp: 65 to 71 degree

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Headed out with a buddy around 4:00 AM. Wind was blowning hard in the morning but once we got passed Williams it slowed down. We launched in Clear Oaks near the Keys, and headed to Rattle Snake Island. I picked up one ish around 1.5 lb on #221 Senko. Decided to leave and ish the south end in Konocti. Buddy picked a 3 lber under a dock on 1st cast again on a senko. Fished the docks and banks or about a 1/2 mile picking up 12 ish and 2 over 3 lbs. (bed ishing was hard on account o the breeze and algea) Went back to the keys to try and ind ish in post spawn mode. Threw a blade or while with no luck. Buddy then landed another 3 lber which made it his 3rd to my zero. It was time or me to start picking it up. Started lippin a 3/4 oz chartruse and brown jig in heavy cover with no luck. Switched to a senko and picked up a 2 lber. Then I had this weired hunch about this one point with weeds and a dock and pulled out my jig again. Flipped into this little pocket in the middle o the weeds and there she was 10lb plus. Had her on top o the water when she snapped my 20 lb P-line. Worst eeling in my lie especially when my buddy turns and says "Wow you just lost the ish o your lietime". Anyways kept ishing but was still bummed about my loss, while I watched my buddy land 2 more nice ish 3lb 15oz and 4 lber. Continued to throw another jig or a while but got tired o watching my buddy catch ish. So I switched back to the senko and caught a ew more dinks(1lb to 1.5 lb) Until we saw a male and emale on a bed under the walkway to a dock. Took my senko changed it to wacky and pitched under there and out came the 7lb 8oz emale. What a nice ish, she should have gone 8.5 or 9 but she was skinny. All 24 1/2 inches o her. That almost made up or the one I lost. Just think my two big ish could have been what my partners limit was. Anyway, enjoyed a great day with my best riend and caught some ish too...
    City: Marysville

Tips: There are plenty o nice ish on beds. Give the keys a try and see what you can come up with. Flip deep in the weeds or throw the senko under trees and docks. Some guys and the ramp said they had luck in there with a rog...good luck

    Water Temp: 64-69

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Bed ishing was good today, landed around 30 ish, most o them 1.5 -2lb range. A couple in the 3 lb. range and 1 just shy o 5 lbs. All caught in the south end o the lake and on a lippin' tube. Used 1 tube all day long. The algae is getting out o control in some areas and I think they were spraying to kill it but I'm not sure. Does anyone know i the do spray or it or does it go away on its own. I do think the algae helps the spawn because its nearly impossible to see the beds, but you still can ind plenty o ish.
    City: santa rosa

Tips: Find bed ish and sit on them till they bite. Some ish went easy, some ish it took 30 min.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Preishing or WON on June 14-15, so I'll be brie and very general. Launched at Redbud and ran to around the islands and began throwing a Persuader buzzbait. One blowup, no like I had anticipated the bite would be. Decided to go up south o Lakeport and look or some bed ish in an area I remebered rom a trip past and ound three beds, each with a ive on them. Stuck one o them beore I couldn't see the beds anymore. The wind and the recent algae bloom made tough sight ishing conditions. Played around Skylark or a while and caught one Speed Trap ish o o the Skylark ramp. Made the run back down to the south end and ended the day with 4 more lip ish. I was lipping a Yamamoto Fat Ika in watermelon seed on a 3/16th oz. weight and a 5/0 Gamakatsu hook rigged texas. Not much to go on or the day, but the wind was a actor that threw everyone o o their bite rom the olks I talked to. I expect the bite will come to me and the plan I had or the day when the 14th & 15th o June rolls around. Good luck to all and see ya on the water.
    City: Roseville

Tips: Because o the wind it crammed alot o people into the ew protected areas Clear lake has. Like Larry says though, Senko,Senko, Senko or these ish now.

Report: I have mentioned beore that guiding is sometimes a series o highs and lows (mentally speaking). Some trips have a certain amount o stress or various reasons and others are so satisying that you just eel good all over. Yesterday was a combination o both and with a happy ending! I knew that the Memorial Day weekend at Clear Lake would be diicult enough but when I saw delta og over Yuba City when I let I knew that the wind was going to be a major actor in my plans since I was guiding people vacationing at the south end. And I had a ather who has done some ishing, his 17 year old son who had never caught a bass, and a 15 year old riend that seemed to be able to handle a rod and reel pretty well. Ater launching my Ranger 520 in 2 to 3 ood swells at Pirate's Cove we proceded to ind a place to ish - no easy task! Though we only ished about 5 hours, we did catch 37 docks, 24 tule burms, 3 cables, 5 trees, and 7 bass!!!! This is supposed to be a joke, but that is sort o how the day started. With the wind howling and the boat moving everywhere, many o the miscasts were not their ault. Ater the 15 year old riend caught a small bass and dad caught a 2 pounder, the riend hooked a nice bass - maybe 4 pounds - on a Senko, but dropped his rod tip and lost it. We continued to look or quiet areas near Gooseneck - but so were the boaters and jet skiers. Around noon the 15 year old was casting a #214 Senko into some tules and soon I was aware the he was going to lose the battle with a good bass heading or a dock. I yelled "pull, pull!", He did and I netted a "should have been a 5 pounder" but I think she had lost some eggs - she was 4-11! This was the biggest bass o his lie. Now to help the other boy! I switched him to the #214 also with no immediate success. Since the arrangement was or a shorter trip because I was doing a night trip or other amily members later, time was running out. Dad said to me (no pressure intended) that he really wished his son could catch one and I told him I wanted it more than he did! The LAST tule patch we hit - I showed the son where to cast his 214 5-inch Senko. As I watched, his line seemed to tighten and I soon saw this "mouth" slowly come through the algae towards us. I told him to reel ast - he did and reeled it right to the top o my trolling motor shat!!! I couldn't even see the bass as I'm yelling "net, net!!!!!. I quickly put the net under where I thought the bass was (in rolling swells I was doing this) and then elt the weight o the ish in the net. I got the bass in the net but not the hook - it was still attached to the motor! Don't know i that was a skilled net job or a lucky one. Either way, the son proudly held the irst bass o his lie - all 4 pounds o her, or a great photo shoot. Were dad and I smiling or what! So we really did land 7 bass and missed 2 I think. We were a happy bunch as we bounced our way back to the lauching ramp! Seriously, I think we only really hooked 10 docks, har!!
    City: Yuba City

Tips: I had everyone stick to Senkos because o the weather conditions and their skill level. Numbers 208, 214, 221, and 222 have been top producers these past two weeks or my boat. Senkos work well with our people standing in a boat. The night trip was a near disaster weather-wise. I took two college age olks out and we hooked over 10 bass - one big one - and landed 2. They were totally shut o with the very cool night and wind made things nearly impossible. Ater midnight I became quite concerned as the wind seemed to double in speed (rare in the middle o the night) and as we came around Anderson Island and headed or the new ramp at the Oaks, I knew it was going to be an "E" ticket ride (old Disneyland lingo!). I am glad it was the dark o the moon so they couldn't see how rough it really was - maybe one o my "top 5 adventure rides" at Clear Lake ever. We rode one swell or it seemed like orever. The boat would not come down. We all thought it was pretty cool - a surboard with 225 useless horses behind it! One hears all the arguements about which is the best rough-water boat. I have conidence in my Ranger and that is why I own one. I think one o the big actors in big water is the length - 20 to 21 eet will help you not to spear the swells. We didn't. Day or night - i you have a smaller boat - don't take chances at Clear Lake during a spring or summer cold ront (delta breezes)! Cooler air moves to the Clear Lake area on one vehicle - wind! This is not the typical hot summer aternoon wind which is never too serious. We had a kind o double ront this weekend and last night was positively ugly. I even blew all around towing back to Yuba City.

Report: Hit the water at O Dark Hunderd, man it was cold. Talk about a tough bite. We dinked around or hours with know luck so we decided to hit town or some coee. We stoped at Tackle It and asked "where are the ish", they set us up on some drop shot worms rom Robo and Maverick worms in an Oxblood color. They also tipped us o to a Carolina rig bite using Baby Brush Hogs. Well we hit the water and the luck turned, we caught 7 ish are largest a 6.9.

Report: I ished with a client who had never been on the lake - Friday at the north end and Sat on the south end. Though we ished a lot, we did just as much looking around as I showed him many ways to ish the lake. The looking around was ar more successul than the ishing! Yes, we really need some consistent warm weather to get the bite going again, but someday olks will igure out that ishing will never be generally great like the old days with the seven days a week pressure the lake now endures. In the two days I was there, I don't think I have ever talked to so many discouraged ishermen. Anyway, the irst day we caught three up to two pounds on jigs, targeting deep docks with rock. We probably missed 3 or 4. Saturday, we started o ripping and my client rolled one on the third cast but didn't connect. He also missed one on a ripbait in the aternoon. I started o with a 3 3/4 pounder on a brown/orange Rodstrainer jig -ishing a rockpile. We did a lot o drop-shotting and caught 2 more - 2 and 3-7 lbs. The 3-7 was caught on a morning dawn 6" worm - always works in tough conditions at Clear Lake! The highlight o the day was the 8 to 10 lb bass that ollowed the 3-7 to the boat! Wow!! Both ish were about 20 eet deep under a shaded dock. I ripped a 1 3/4 pounder in the aternoon. We had 4 in the boat or nearly 11 pounds. The jig bite might have been good Sat but we didn't ish them much. It really was a beautiul day!
    City: Yuba City

Tips: It is really hard to give any advice on patterns because they are too hard to establish with this much ishing pressure. When you do stick a ish in an area that has already seen a number o boats, you don't know i you are on to something or just lucky. I do think that drop-shotting or split-shotting with 8 pound test (some are using 6!) - a typical Oroville or Shasta rig may get you more bites. I you stick an 8 plus - pray hard!!!

But the overnight temp was 38 and in my search or beds at the north end, that was all I ound, beds. No ish, just beds. So I tried backing o to deeper water... nothing. Tried throwing senkos in rodman... nothing.Moved south to try rattlesnake area still nothing. I cranked, wormed, senko, lipped and my son spinnerbaited to two bites all day. Report: Fished Clear Lake this past weekend, with the warm weather the big bait bite slowed down. Ater a visit to the local tackle store (TACKLE IT) we were back on the water with a new plan. We started ishing with Senkos, drop shotting and sight ishing with big tubes. That made all the dierence we started hanmmering them. Me an my riends had a great time. Thanks Tackle it
    City: San Francisco

Tips: We ished Senkos in Rootbeer, and bright colors when we saw ish bedding. The tubes were big. For drop shotting we used 4 and 6 inch worms by ROBO.
