Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I fished by myself this evening from about 5 to 9. I started off at the boat ramp but wasn't getting any results for about 1/2 hour. I lost one dink on the jig right before I got it to the dock. It ate the jig when I was dead sticking it. I got another little bite from a dink but didn't hook up. I caught 2 small fish(a 10incher and 12incher) on the jig in the next 15 minutes. I got one more bite from a dink that ripped the trailer off my jig and then I headed to channel point. I got one bite near the dock. I started swimming my jig near some weeds and tules and a fish came out and grabbed it. I caught that fish and it was a 1lb.15ozer. I didn't get anymore action for the rest of the evening other than a couple really small blowups on some topwater.
City: AntiochTips: Brown/black/red flake jig.

Report: Today was a bit tougher than my last trip out. David and I caught 3 fish each, but out of the 6 fish caught there were only 2 keepers(a 13incher and a 1lb.5oz.) We caught our fish near the boat ramp and the back cove on jigs and drop shot.
City: AntiochTips: Jigs and drop shot around steeper, rocky or hard bottom banks in a little deeper water. Brown/black jig and watermelon drop shot worms.

Report: I went fishing with my friend David today. We got to the lake at about 2:20 and started fishing the boat ramp area. I cuaght a 13incher pretty quick on a 5" Bub Watermelon Kinami Flash in the weeds. I got a few hits on a brown jig around that area but didn't get the fish. One was most likely dink because it bit off the trailer. I set the hook too later on the other one after it had already dropped the jig. David caught one about 1lb. 4oz on a small jig off the boat ramp and got a couple other hits. We fished near the bridge to the island and I cuaght a 1-7 on the jig and David caught a 1-5 on a Junebug Senko. I caught a 1-5 on a frog in that shallow cove to the right of Channel Point dock. I missed one on a frog close by. We went to the left of the dock and I caught a 3-7 flippin my jig into the tules. It looked as though it may have been on a bed becuase its tail was beat up and bloody. We fished our way toward Cat Tail and I got a blowup on the frog but it was just a dink. The the right of the lagoon I pitched my frog to the weeds and was look away. When I looked back I saw a boil and ripples and before I could set the hook , my frog came floating back up. We went to the left of the lagoon rocks and I got another blowup on the frog but missed it(I think it was a dink or maybe it just grabbed the legs of the frog). I got another blowup a few minutes later and missed that fish too. It doesn't make any sense because I felt that fish when I set the hook but didn't hook it. It had to have bitten short. We left at 9:00.
City: AntiochTips: Jigs, senkos, and frogs all around tules and weeds. Fish seemed to be short-striking the frog so maybe I should change colors or retrieve. It also helps to pay attention when fishing that frog! LOL

Report: went out all day on monday. worked by the channel point dock using drop shot. Got no takers over there but got a decent one by a weed patch near by. It was close to 3lbs. continued to work the shore with no bites until i got to the island. Got another one casting uned a tree. I worked farther down the island and casted by some cover. I got a bite and set it, and it felt like a real nice one. I pulled it up and it turned out to be a catfish i hooked in the back. I did't get any more the rest of the day.
City: oakleyTips: work the shores.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I fished with my cousin Chad today from 6:40am to 4:30pm. Way too much time spent fishing for the results that we got! We started off around the boat ramp and Chad lost a dink on a senko, then caught one small one about 11inches. We fished our way to channel point dock and got a few bites on senkos and texas rigged worms. I caught a small bed fish on a jig near channel point dock. I went a little to the left of the dock and pitched my jig to some tules and a slammed it as soon as it hit the water. I set the hook, fought it a little, and swung it up on the bank. It weighed 3lbs. 14oz. Not too bad. We kept on fishing past there and towards the lagoon and got a few bites on jigs and senkos but no fish. I fished a frog in the grass but didn't get any blow-ups. We went to the back cove and I caught a 12incher on the jig. That was it for the day.
City: AntiochTips: Watermelon black/red senkos around the grass. Brown jig on rocks and tules. Don't stay out fishing as long as I did when you're not catching anything.

Water Temp: 68
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 6:30am to 9am. caught 6 fish. caught
2 fish to 3 lbs on a 194 senko, caught 4 fish to
7lbs on 208 hula grub fish texas style with
a 1/4oz bullet in front of a glass bead. took all fish along east bank in 3-6 ft of water, fish were
real tight to structure. erratic retrieve help to draw strikes. lake is full to the brim. my guess is if the weather warms for a few days these fish will go on a real strong bite.
City: oakleyTips: if you fish the hula grub t-rigged don't look away from your line, a good quick hook set is needed, i only had one fish really slam it, all the others picked up just as it hit the bottom, feel just the slightest bump. there are still a few trout a swim bait might be worth while to get you on a big fish, you won't get too many bites, maybe none, but if you do it probably will be about 10+ pounds, try the far cove opposite the
ramp.

Report: Went out again today trying to get some more. I went out to the same spot where i lossed the big one yesterday off the sinko. Even though i did not see it i tossed it in there again using the same bait. The first cast my line started to go out and i set it. I saw the fish and knew it was the biq one again. I fought it more carefully today on the jump. It took a good 4 minutes to finally get it in but i did. I guess i exagerrated about it being the lake recored but it still was 9.2 lbs, my second biggest. I'll put the pic up soon.
City: oakleyTips: Look on the North Shore becuase there is plenty of cover and drop offs for big bass to bed.

Report: went out and used mostly sinkos today. I caught two decent ones off the black w/ blue flake. I also lossed one that had to be over the lake record. It was up shallow and i snatched the buck first then the big one went after it. I had it for a while but i was trying to go down from the hill i was on and it jumped and the hook popped out. This thing was a monster.
City: oakleyTips: not much besides sinkos. what is everyone else getting them on?

Report: That bass you lost i also lost. I was going for trout that day and did really good. But when i caught a small one i saw i tpanicking all of a sudded and started trying to come on shore. that bass you must of lost was going at it. it tried to eat it. over half the trout was in its mouth and i was reeling in the bass also, that was a good fight. after like a minute i brought it up to shore and my brother tried to net it, but it turned its head and the trout popped out. That happened about three other times also that day.

Water Temp: Warmer
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: They lowered it out again this week. A good 2 feet. So now bass arent biting with there beds gone. It is stupid how the water level is chaning, throwing off the spawning season. Went for trout today so no tips on catching them. except my friend caught 2 off night crawler going for trout. THROW BACK YOUR BASS!! I saw one guy catch about an 8 pounder today off bobber and worm and kept it. Keep anything else, just THROW BACK BASS! It was a fat momma full of eggs. I told him to throw it back but i dont think he spoke English. Many people have been keeping stringers full of bass, not even keepers either. that is just ruining it for us bass anglers.

Report: Went out fishing this weekend hoping for a big one. I got there about 7:30 and shortly got 3 12-13 incher on dropshot and that was all for the rest of the day. I saw some huge ones chasing after a trout that was getting caught, but it didn't come back after that. My friend got a 2 and 3 later and the guy fishing next to us lost a 5+. Lately the bite has been on but only for the little guys.

Water Temp: 65-72
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Got there 2:00 after work. Started over by the channel point dock, no bites or hits there with small fluke. Moved over to a rock around the corner from there. Throwing a bone colored vixen topwater had a fish follow all the way back to me and swipe at it. I throw the fluke back at him. It comes back with no tail. So I throw the drop shot back there and without shaking it or moving it, on the cast I feel wait and set the hook. And shorlty I land a 3lber. Not bad. I move down around the front of the pool, throw drop shot out to the bouys in front of the pool, and the same thing on the cast the fish picks it up but this one is heavy and moves just a little so I know its a fish. I set the hook and the fish jumps straight out of the water, its a nice fish. I get it in, in about 4 mins. its a nice 6lber. I have a weigh bag, so I load it up in the car and take it to the booth to be weighed and photographed. I get back to where I caught the fish and catch a few more smaller ones about 1-2.5. I then move to the left almost to where the cove is, and throw out to the bouys. I bring it back and about 4ft the bank it get it bit and hard, I set the hook and the fish makes a b-line to the bouy. it comes up and shakes its head and its huge. I estimate 7 plus. Its pulling drag really hard so I back off it and start gaining line. The fish starts coming back and boom gets a second wind and takes off, after about 5 seconds of running I feel the hook pull out, aaaahhh. The hook comes back and its shaped like an L.
City: OakleyTips: This was last Thursday things have changed a bit. Most of the fish were shallow after that cold front two days of sun brought em shallow. Topwater was the ticket a day ago.

Report: went out this weekend and caught a few. nothing really big. I used a popper in the morning and missed some pretty nice ones but landed one. Also caught a couple off drop shot. Again this weekend i saw some guy keep a nice bass over 5lbs, and the worst part about it was he hooked it in the tail. If these people are gonna keep a bass that's bad enough, but at least catch. dont hook it.
City: oakleyTips: try a reaction lure early in the morning because they were jumping like crazy.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Aaron and I hit the water today around 1430, we started in the back cove with a couple smaller fish on jigs. We moved around to a couple spots near the island and not much action there two fish one Aaron cought around 2 lbs and I stuck one finesse fishing that went 9lbs 4oz. After a good healthy battle and a couple jumps I managed to land her. Beautiful fish full of eggs.
City: PittsburgTips: There are no tips or tricks to fishing this lake. Just spend your time on the water and figure it out. Like stated before purples and craw patterns tend to produce here.

Water Temp: 60-65 (water Lo
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Tough day, managed 2 bass, biggest maybe 2 lbs, both caught near launch ramp-dropshotting flirt worms in the road kill, and spring break patterns. Water is still extremely low. No bites on north side. I met 2 great guys- Tom from Pittsburg, and Aaron both are excellent bassers, both have posted here before. Both of these guys practice catch and release. If these guys decided to keep their bass, the meat fisherman would not have any fish to keep. Also like D. Gillian noted in his post- not all bobber fisherman are meat fisherman. I more direct this towards the knuckleheads that keep anything they catch no matter what. As previously mentioned those KNUCKLEHEADS probably don't read these posts. If guys like D. Gillian, Tom, Aaron, Alex Meine, myself, my nephew, etc decided to keep all are fish, we could clean out this lake good. CATCH AND RELEASE.
City: HaywardTips: finesse worms, drop shot rigs, hope the water level raises.

Water Temp: 60-65
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: This is to back up JUSTIN'S REPORT too many meat fisherman are keeping bass here. I encourage everybody to be secretive about methods, and spots on this lake, unless you know guys are releasing their fish. I released a 10 lb + bass april 6, (photo is in fish sniffer issue april 29-may 13 on page 42, and a photo is in Walton's Pond tackle shop in San Leandro.) not only did i release big female, i took great care in quickly getting photos taken, and wetting my hands so i wouldn't damage protective slime, she was released within 3 minutes. She swam off with plenty of vigor. When i am there, i will have guys come over and ask me what i am catching my bass on, and unless i know they are releasing them. i will not give them info. These guys with nightcrawlers and bobbers almost always keep anything they catch whether it is a 10" bass or a 10 lb trout or a 8 lb bass. Again i encourage those bassers to be secretive, the guys that read and post on this site aren't the problem, this lake will be the pits if they don't stop taking stringers of bass and the water level keeps being fluctuated like it has the last 2 years.
City: haywardTips: report fisherman who keep undersize bass to the rangers who then cite the anglers, or if antioch police is there they handle this. I laughed i saw one guy with undersize bass get his tackle confiscated. The guy was in tears.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Yeah I saw the same thing right before closing a nice 6 or 7 lb bass full of eggs, in a plastic bag. Its your choice whether you keep a fish or but try and put the big girls back. I've given fisherman smaller males at times to convince them to let the bigger ones go back, they are important to maintaining this small lake. This has been a good year for bass and will continue to be good if you practice catch and release. I've caught a number of nice fish that its obvious have been let go.
