Report: went out yesterday using spinnerbaits and drop shot. didn't get any action by the boat dock. went over to the east side on the rocks and missed a few bites and saw some big bass jumping. i caught a couple decent ones on the island later in the day off drop shot. my friend got some off the handicap dock on spinnerbaits. i got most of my bites in deeper, darker water. if your on a tube, you might want to try the east side by the rocks or the north side of the island by the tules and weeds on the surface, it will probably be a good frog area.
City: oakleyTips: i did so bad a have no tips.

Report: We started our day 11:30 a.m., at the metal dock on the east side of the lake. Our setup was a 3/16 ounce sinker, with a swivel, a 3 ft leader, a size 1 gamakatsu ewg hook, and a 4" green finesse soft plastic worm. We fished an extended weed point in 8-15 ft of water. We caught 4 bass from 11:30 to 12:30 in the 1-2 lb range. From 1:00 to 3:00 we caught another four bass of the same size of the earlier bass.
City: AntiochTips: Fish weed points in 8-15 ft water depths, with finesse four in soft plastics. CATCH AND RELEASE!!! KEEP CONTRA LOMA'S BASS FISHING ALIVE!

Report: Nick, Andrew, David, and I started at the boat ramp today around 1:00PM. Since there were four of us, we decided to have a little tournament.(We just went by whoever caught the most keepers) On my second cast I caught a small keeper on a green pumpkin w/ green&purple Kreature. Nick caught one about 1.5lbs on a Kreature too just a couple minutes later. I caught another small keeper on it to the right of the launch ramp. We went over to the island and Andrew and Nick both caught a small keeper. Nick got his on a blade and Andrew's was on a Yum Sooie. We moved to Channel Point and I missed one on a Kreature. David caught a 1lber on a swimbait on the lagoon rocks and I caught a dink on a beaver to the right of the rocks. We went past the back dock and David and I fished the point while Andrew and Nick fished the cove. I caught a 2-10 on a jig and then a 13" and lost a dink and David caught a 1lber. We went back to the corner of the dam and we weren't getting much action. Then, all of a sudden, the bite seemed pick up right as the sun was setting. Nick caught a keeper on a spinnerbait. Then right after that, David lost one. And then I caught a 3-10 on a jig on the point before the cove. Then two cast later I caught a 3-1 on the jig. Then David caught a 2lber. That was it for the day and we left at 9. I ended up winning the tournament with 6 keepers.
City: AntiochTips: Jig color didn't seem to matter as I was catching fish on a brown/black silicone jig with a green pumpkin/red&black trailer and David used a brown round rubber jig with a green pumpkin/purple&green trailer. Jigs also got the better quality fish. Jig fish were caught in a little deeper water with a hard bottom with little drop offs. Smaller fish were caught on the reaction baits and the t-rigged creature baits.

Report: I fished today with my friends David and Nick. We started at the boat ramp at about 8:00 am. I noticed that the lake has been lowered and didn't like that. There was also an algae bloom and that didn't seem to help much either. We didn't catch anything at the ramp so we moved toward the island and channel point throwing frogs, jigs, and plastics. Nick had one small fish on a spinnerbait fishing the rocks by the pool. He also had a nice one blow up on his sweet beaver as he was taking it out of the water. He went to the corner by the dam past the back dock and threw jigs and t-rigs. I lost one small fish on a jig and then caught a small keeper. Nick caught 3 on a Yamamoto Kreature and 1 on a spinnerbait all in that area. The biggest was about 2lbs with the other going 1lb to 1.5lbs. I caught one more small keeper on a jig and so did David. We fished back to the boat ramp and Nick lost 2 more on the Kreature, but they were small. We left at about 9 pm.
City: AntiochTips: Jigs and Texas rigs to imitate craws. There are a lot of shad in the lake right now so a shad pattern spinnerbait also worked.

Report: Got to lake around 7. through buzz bait off boat ramp for a little while. nothing there, so i tossed out a yamamoto blue/black flake creature texas rigged. third cast picked up a 2.5 pounder. got it as i pulled it out of the water. casted after that one and another one took it. had it on but came off. not good enough hook set. went to spot near bridge casting towards island. saw a nice pocket of weeds and tules. tossed it right in and got a hit fast. it was a pig. pulled it out of weeds but it then went back in and my line snapped.eventually got to north shore and flipped a 5" berkely bungee hawg blue/black flake. got a 13" in a pocket bouning the hawg up and down. that was it for me. the bite died down a lot after that. through everything i had for the rest of the day and no takers.
City: OakleyTips: in the morning the bass liked anything that would be easy to get. drop shot, jigs, texas riggs, those kind of slow retrieve baits. all my reactive lures i had no action at all on.

Report: David, Jeremy, and I went started out today at the western corner of the dam. We got a couple small drop shot fish there and a little further down I caught a 1lb. 5oz. jig fish. Jeremy caught a few more dinks in the back cove and back dock on a drop shotted flirt worm. We didn't get anything near the lagoon but we didn't fish it much. David got one blowup on a frog but missed the fish. We ended the day at the boat ramp. I caught 4 more jig fish which were all dinks except for one that was maybe 12inches. David caught a dink on a small finesse worm and one on a jig. Jeremey caught some more dinks drop shotting. A tough day overall. Has anyone been catching any nice fish lately?
City: AntiochTips: Brown/black jigs and brownish or pumpkin colored drop shot worms with some blue or purple in them. The best spots right now seem to be past the back dock to the corner of the dam and the boat ramp...at least for us anyway.

Water Temp: Warm
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: With the water down so long the lake is full of vegetation. That means lots of good cover for the bass. I havent been able to go for bass a lot lately because of my foot but from what i've seen and heard the bass bite is going good. Just from sitting on the dock throwing my gold/silver double bladed spinnerbait i got good action. in about 30 minutes from casting in the same area constantly i got 2 1.5 pounders. Lots of chasers too. The shad and bait fish are really active now. all around the lake they are in schools exploding on topwater from the bass going at him. my brother and neighbor have been getting action off spinners too.
City: OakleyTips: anything that may resemble baitfish is a good choice right now.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: David and I came in from to back today at about 11:30 AM and started out in the back cove and around the area where I caught the 7-15 yesterday. We saw a good 5lber. that was stalking some bluegill and it looked at David's jig but swam away. We went over to the corner by the dam and caught a few dinks drop shotting brown and watermelon worms. I caught a 2lb. 13oz. and a 1lber and David lost a nice one. We caught 2 more dinks and one 12inch keeper in the back cove on jigs and drop shot. We went to the dock and I cuaght a 1lb. 3oz. crappie! That was the last thing I was expecting to catch on a flippin jig. I caught a dink and a 1lb. 12ozer at the dock drop shotting and then we went by the lagoon. We were fishing frogs around the weeds but got now blowups. I started fishing a spot that David had already fished. I tossed in my Bobby Barrack Perfect Frog and slowly walked it with a short pause after each "step". A big fish absolutely crushed it from the side and I laid into her. I had her up and flopping on the shore within 7 seconds. She weighed 5lbs. 9ounces. Another big, beautiful, healthy fish. We fished some more weeds without any other blowups. I fished around the island and caught one dink flippin the tules. We made our last stop of the day at the boat ramp and I caught 3 more fish: a dink 12incher and a 2lber. I lost 2 others. One was about 1.5lbs and the other was probably 2. David lost a good one too on a jig on the boat ramp. Not too bad of a day with 19 fish caught including the crappie. I caught 12 bass and David caught 6. 7 of them were keepers. I'm finally getting some bigger fish now.
City: AntiochTips: Brown/black jigs with red flake in the trailer fished around weeds, rocks, and tules in both shallow and deeper water. Brownish, watermelon red, and green pumpkin drop shot worms in a little deeper water with hard, rocky bottom. Frog in and around those weird weeds that are now in the water.

Report: I came in from the back today at about 3:20 PM and started fishing past the back cove toward the dam. I started off using a 3/8oz. Black Brown Spice Booyah Boo Jig with a Watermelon/Red Smallie Beaver as a trailer. After a couple minutes I hooked a dink on my jig but lost it after it came flying out of the water when I was reeling it in. I snapped my jig off but was able to get it back and tied it back on. I moved over to the next little opening 10ft down and flipped my jig into the clump of those wierd weeds (that grew on the shore when the water level was lower) about 7ft in front of me and let it sink down on a slack line. I picked it up to yo-yo it in the weeds and I felt some weight and then a tug and I set the hook and this big bass comes leaping out of the water. It splashes back down and tries to bury into the weeds, but I keep good pressure on her and I get her headed to the surface and away from the weeds. As I'm fighting her I try to bring her over a floating tree branch but she gets stuck and I couldn't move her so she kinda just flopped back in the water and I got her away from the branch and turned her around and she was headed towards my thumb. I lip her and put her on my digital scale and she weighs in at 7lbs. 15ounces! That's my biggest fish so far this year! She was healthy and I could tell she had spawned a while ago because the scarring on her tale was hardly noticable and she wasn't skinny. I called my sister and had her take some pictures. I'll try to post them on the photos section. That was all I caught because I stopped fishing basically after I let her go.
City: AntiochTips: Brown/Black jig with a trailer with some red flake in it.
