Water Temp: 65-68
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Got there 7:45pm to 9:30pm. Got home 10:15. I ran to the lake for 15 min knowing exactly where I wanted to go. The sun dropped over the mountain and in 5 min I had my first fish about 1.5 on a white pearl fluke it jumped off right at the bank, no worries. I hopped back in the car noticing the full moon. This was just the night I was waiting for. Parked in Donolan with little light now that the sun was down. Ran as fast as I could to the spot catching my breath as I got there, adrenaline got me over the hill. Back at the spot the very first cast with a new fluke on yielded a solid 4lb. The very next cast the lure hits the water, sets for a few seconds, "twicth twitch" boom!. I set the hook twice on a fish that seemed not even to budge. After the second hook set my line goes light and the fish comes to the top of the water and shakes her head. "Oh my God",was all I could say. There was no one around and the silence is completely broken by the sound of this fish shaking her head sideways through the water. The fight seemed like an eternity. I probably had the fish in, in 6 minutes. The fish I estimate was easily over 10lbs. It was, not exaggerating, as long as my arm and full of eggs. I ended up catching five more fish to 5lbs. Did not bring my scale. But a few consecutive cast yielded 2 fish at 3+, 2 fish at 4 and one probably right at 5lbs. There a few fish smaller around 1 to 2.5 lbs. They bit after the bigs girls. All this damage was done in an hour. By far the best night of fishin ever for me period. I switched to a darker fluke when I couldnt see my line they saw the fluke just fine. Best five over 30! Wow unbelievable
City: OakleyTips: No tips really, I think this trip was just timing. Watch your line. The big one just made my line completely straighten out. When I couldnt see my line anymore I just reel the slack in a little and I could feel them swimming with it.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I also caught my first 10 pounder at contra loma this weekend. I was working the north shore when my brother pointed to a spawning bass about 5ft offshore towards the surface. I was using drop shot again and was waving it in front of it and making it mad for a while. It finally grabbed it and i set it. It was a good long 5minute fight. I took some photos and then released it. It was to the left of the north dock right before the north cove. The actual weigth was 10lbs and 1 ounce. My biggest Bass ever. I'll put the photo up soon.
City: OakleyTips: Drop Shotting along the shore and be quiet because they spook easy.

Water Temp: 58-62
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I finally caught my first 10 pound + bass here on 4/6 on a trout swim bait. I caught and carefully released the brute near the island. I had caught 3 others dropshotting worms, before i caught the big one, i decided to release the fish rather then haul it all the way to the front booth to have it weighed,(a picture of it is pinned up in WALTON'S POND TACKLE STORE in San Leandro, those who have read my reports before know i am a big fan of Jon Walton of Walton's Pond, he deserves an assist for this fish, he is the one who suggested the swim bait, has given me numerous advice on techniques before, and is always helpful to customers, on where, what, when, to fish.Jon is a big bass expert, its uncanny how he knows updated information on all the lakes whether it be Contra Loma or Clear Lake. The water is still really low at Contra Loma, it looks like it has just started to fill.
City: HaywardTips: Drop shotting- robo worms, red, purple etc. Big Lures for those giants-swim baits, jigs, big worms etc. You can see pix of my big bass in WALTON'S POND near counter. AS ALWAYS PLEASE RELEASE BASS, i still see too many guys keeping bass.

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I got out today at about 12. I went straight to the island to see if I could get that good drop shot bite that Jamond wrote about. Well in the first 10 minutes I caught two dinks on an Oxblood Swirl Reaction Innovations Flirt worm. Then a few minutes later I get bit and when I set the hook the fish is actually stripping drag. So I was thinking "Yes finally a keeper". So after a couple short runs I got it in and it was a fat female about 5.5lbs. I didn't have a scale so I just estimated the weight. Then the wind really started picking up and I caught 2 more dinks. I switched to an Oxblood Smallie Beaver on a football head jig and caught another dink. I started throwing a Lucky Craft Combat CB later on and was diggin the bottom with it and got bit. So I set the hook and it seems like another nice one. Unfortunately, it wasn't a bass. It was a 2lb catfish. I didn't get anything after that and left at about 5:15.
City: AntiochTips: Like Jamond said, drop shot off the island with a purple worm.

Water Temp: Warm
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I've been going out for the last couple months now only using drop shot with a six inch purple worm. I've caught a ton of bass. The biggest one was over seven pounds. Iv'e been cathcing them by the lagoon, a ton on the island, and some big ones on the east shore by the dam.Right now is a great time for bass and it seems that everybody is catching them off the purple worm.

Water Temp: 60-65
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Got there about 2:30. The bass have been on fire so far. Using a drop shot I've caught about 50 bass in three days> Yesterday was the kicker I caught a 7lb trout. As it got later the fishing just all of a sudden went on a tear. The first yielded a 3lb. Followed three consecutive fish 3.25,4.12,5.56. The island was pretty hot for few days. Giving me about twenty fish one day, with most the fish being about 1-3 lbs, with biggest going about 5.5lbs. A few 4lbers mixed in. Today I went there for about an hour at 2:00,with the wind and rain howling, the second cast to a was a 6lber. That ended up being the only fish because I was soaked and the wind was blowing too hard. Most of the bigger fish were females with huge stomachs. Alot of 1-2.5lb males though. The water is prety warm most of the fish came between 6-12 ft of the bank. The water level is rising now. Look for a change in the bottom or a point. I've been using Reaction Innovations drop shot worm in Main Vein. Any darker color will work fine. Purple and dark brown have been the best.
City: OakleyTips: Pay attention to where you caught the fish. The fish have been stacked. I caught five fish on five cast the fifth being a 5.5lber. Thats on two different days.

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: theres a lot of places and varity of stuff to use, most people tend to drop shot or use senko baits waitless or wacky. The boat launch area is ok, find a lot there, some would try the island with jigs or top water, mainly poppers or frog baits. every where else people tend to go with senkos any color works besides salt and pepper, but most bites are off purple.

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: These last few weeks iv'e snagged about 15 bass. I've been using 6 and 4 inch roboworms. Margarita mutalater and brown are the colors that have been working for me. I have been catching them off the island casting out towards the North shore and Channel point dock. I have been reeling it slow and gotten lots of takers. Average size is over a pound but I've gotten some big ones close the 4lbs.
City: OakleyTips: Try the slow retrieve using drop shot or something similar. Try casting on shallow beaches or flat area about 4ft deep. That's where iv'e been catching them.

Water Temp: ???
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Well, I figured it was a few days after the full moon and a storm front was rolling in . Got to the lake and launched my tube. My fins are a bright blue in color and they vanished after about 2". Talk about poor visibility!! Threw everything I had, you name it I threw it. Fished the entire lake with not a single bite all day (8-3). Saw a couple of "Power Baiters" and they weren't getting anything either. If anybody has any words of wisdom on this lake it would be greatly appreciated!!

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out Tuesday and Thursday this week.
Tuesday- Got to the lake by 10:00 AM fished till 4:30 got 3 bass all about 1.5-2lbs all of them were fat and one puked up some shad parts. Dropshoting and Carolina riging real slow in about 6 feet of water near weeds and rocks. Also got a 4lb trout slow rolling a Lucky Craft Combat CB in American Shad (gave the fish away as I hooked it in the gills and had to drag it about 50 yards to shore so I could deal with it and not risk hooking my self or my tube)
Thursday-Got to the lake at around 8:00 fished till 12:00 got 3 or 4 bites and landed 2 fish all day all bites came on a brown/black/redflk jig.
City: PittsburgTips: Slow Slow Slow look for where rocks and weeds meet around an area with easy access to both shallow flats and drop offs.

Report: The bite has slowed WAY down. Water levels dropped about 3 1/2 feet in the last week and the bass bite just stopped. Worked all day for 1 fish in 10 feet of water. Graphed a lot of fish in 30-45 foot but they seemed very innactive.

Water Temp: warm
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I went out fishing on Sunday for the first time in about a month. At first i worked the whole south part of the lake and got nothing. One suprised me in a small cove near some weeds, but i missed that one. It would have been a solid 2 lb. I then started working the whole north shore. There were schools of bass feeding on little bait fish about 20-30ft out. The senko bite wasn't working in that spot, so i threw my white spinnerbait. I ended up catching 4 there, and got a lot of big bass chasing and attacking it. My biggest there was about a 2 pounder. There were many big bass that i saw, but no takers. The other three were caught off senkos on the boat and channel point dock. All were about one pound.
City: OakleyTips: i went back there on tuesday and all i got were two big bites and i lost one in a weed bed. So make sure you try different lures, because they were biting differently at the same good spots.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: It's been a month since I last fished this
lake. Water is up and pretty clear, all the
hydrilla definitely helps clear the water.
I started out about 6:30 AM, I put my kayak in amongst lots of surface action, I personally have not had alot of success on this lake fishing top water, and this morning without any wind at all to break up the surface I didn't even try. I tied on a 4" reaper and started pitching into outlying weed beads and whamo! 1st fish was just shy of 6lbs! next fish went 2 3/4, then 2 small guys.
I started drop shotting with that same reaper, my brother who thinks I'm crazy drop shotting it would have been rolling around the bottom of the boat when I landed a healthy set of 4lb twins within about 10 minutes of each other. After that I caught several more in the 2-2 1/2lb range and packed it in at 1 PM. Lake is great condition going into this fall, abundant amount of bait, lots and lots of small schooling bass in the shallows, clearing water, bring on the fall!
City: OakleyTips: I fished slow and methodical between the island and weed beds to the right of there, fished past the dock about half way down to the dam. Green color caught the first, last and every fish in
between.
