    Water Temp: Cold

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished for 3 hours and managed 1 bass about 6 lbs on a basstrix swimbait in shad pattern. Also had a monster trout roll on this bait at the weed line. Bass was landed in the back cove by the swim lagoon in about 4 feet of water. fish seem to be moving up a bit but not ready for any spawning activity yet. I know from many past years that with a warming trend they should start appearing on the banks at the beginning to middle of March. However, be prepared for fluctuating water levels as this is when the water dept. does drastic things to lake level. Bass will get very confused for about a month after they initially move up.
    City: Antioch

Tips: Good luck. Right now swimbaits and suspending jerkbaits seem to be the ticket. In a month or so the jig bite will be on and this is when an experienced jig fisherman will pick up some monsters. Last year my best 2 fish went 14.2 and 12.4 lbs....all quality fish fell for jigs. 5 fish over 10 lbs. There are color patterns that after much experimenting, I found were much better than others if presented in the right locations. You'd be very surprised where some of the biggest females have had "beds".

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I have been hammering this lake pretty much every day. I have yet to catch a bass, but I know it will be soon. The water is not as clear as its normal , but its clearing up. Still pretty cold. I am getting sick of these powerbait fisherman with their sea rods, and 5 pound weights out there, jeez. Trying to make a good presentation , when all of a sudden a huge weight and gob of powerbait comes crashing down to the water. Trout fishing is alright, it isnt as good as it usually is for me though. Picked a couple up off slow crawling some nightcrawlers, and rattletraps. I have been trying dropshotting, with no luck. Had bites, but no hook ups. Any one that wants to meet up at contra loma, let me know. I am looking for a fishing partner. I live only 5 minutes from contra loma.

Report: 1 bass about 5 lbs. off the boat ramp. Fish came on Rapala Flat DT in shad pattern. Bite was nothing more than dead weight that loaded on rod. Thought I ran into thick grass.

Tips: No solid tips yet. I've been hammering this lake lately and only picking up trout. Based on the last 6 yrs. at this lake, we should see spawning activity in about 4-6 more weeks...then it's on. Last year my personal best was a 14.01....and I saw a couple of bigger females on deeper beds. Can't wait!

Report: Topwaters seem to be getting most of the strikes. Most of the bass are pushing the shad toward the shore. Throw shad colored topwaters and make it look likes its fleeing from a bass.

    City: Antioch

Tips: Seems that bass are stuffing themselves with all the baitfish around so the bites going to be tuff. Caught my fish with a 7in purple roboworm.

Report: I realize this posted will be deleted (as will Tom's, hopefully), but I must say I'm with you Warren. Tom, I've read your Loma reports with respect and interest for a while (and yes, I'm one of Brentwood's "finest", I guess). I'm a human being, with a loving family, college educated and a 6 figure income. Your broad assumptions, categorizations and venom are disappointing. Still hard for me to believe people can hate you for just being. Did you tell the guy you were working a fish, or just storm away cursing every person of color?

Tips: Find God and lighten up. This isn't what fishing is supposed to be about.

Report: Tom, thanks for the fishing report, however, in case you didn't know God gave everyone life...even you. Keep your hatred and bile to yourself and just submit fishing reports. You ought to be grateful that you've got a $12.00hr job. Oh I'm willing to have a one on one bass tournament any water any time I'll take vacation to make it happen...this will be for all those down trodden folk you so despise. Check-out the water clarity...CLEAR....I see what you represent.

Report: Big blow ups on topwater.Only landed 1 fish...8 lbs. Worked another big fish for an hour until someone weaseled his way up on my spot from a float tube.I float this lake a lot too, but there is an etiquette when on the water and this ass never heard of it.I have fished this lake for over five years and caught lots of huge bass. This is a quick getaway for me to escape the crap like this city's "section 8" crisis. So now these bastards are invading my favorite fishing hole. You just can't escape Antioch's "finest" now.I'm pissed that now they even have to crowd you out of a fishing spot WHILE you are actually working a big fish. Time to hit the Delta where they haven't yet traded in their "Escalades" for bass boats.
    City: Antioch

Tips: Tight lines to all of you who are hard working, don't milk the system, and have a sense of respect and ettiquette while out fishing.

Tips: Keep trying different things until you find what the fish want to eat. Senkos worked last time I was here, but not today.

Report: i caught a 5 pound bass by the small pond near the 2nd dock on a black and blue jig with a sweet beaver on it also black and blue. That fish came up and jumped to get my jig before it even landed in the water. also lost a nice 2-3 pounder on a spinnerbait 5 feet from shore on the boat dock area.
    City: Pittsburg

Tips: Try bigger lures for the big bass.
