Report: Went out for a couple of hours in the afternoon. No action on Senkos, Beavers, Hula Grubs, or other platics. Decided to try out my new chatterbait and, wham!!! 3.5-4 lb'er. Caught between Channel Pt. Dock and the lagoon. Released with a smile.
City: AntiochTips: I really like the way the chatterbait "feels". Bought another in a different color. Give it a try whenever you might otherwise throw a blade.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out at 6:00 this morning expecting the water level to be low like on Thursday, but they started raising the lake again so i had to find the fish. Worked the back of island with topwater but nothing, mostly catfish in the shallow water around it. Made it to the rocks behind pool and it was deeper so I threw dropshot. First cast got a quick bite and got a small pounder. A few casts later about 5 feet in front of me got a thump and landed a nice 3. Moved to north shore after and saw all the schools of bait fish. Through out my silver spinnerbait with curly tail grub right below surface abouve schools and got a nice 2.5. The rest of the shore was filled with weeds infested with huge spiders so i walked all the way to opening before the dam. Found another nice drop off, threw the spinner and got a quick hit but missed, threw drop shot right after and got another 2.5. I had to go to work so i went to rocks along east shore real fast a picked up one last pounder with an 8" curly tail worm texas rig. Good day, wish i had more time, more water to drink, and less spiders.
City: OakleyTips: Follow the bait fish, rock piles, and drop offs. No luck for me anywhere else.

Report: I went out to the lake around 6 and fished channel point. Since the lake is being drained most of the island is exposed. So I went to the island and meet this guy who was killing bass of a floating rapala minnow,he caught 12 fish including a catfish. Most of them were keepers so I threw out a lucky craft jerk bait and caught two bass: 2.5 &1lb.
City: Antioch, CATips: Use jerkbaits in ghost minnow and rainbow trout colors.

Report: Cast a purple flake senko under the dock and caught my PB 15.9 lb LM bass. Unbelievable luck and first cast, guess she was feeding and didn't care, caught her about 7:30 am. I weight her and my girl friend took a picture and released her back at a secret spot so she would be safe the next time I come out.

Water Temp: ???
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well, today was my first real day of fishing back at Contra Loma after two years. It was a good day over all. Found out that I still know the loma bass pretty good after two years...caught 8 fish in total during about 4 hours of fishing. Fished from around noon until 4 or so. Fished on the back side of the lake. I figured if I caught fish on beds 3 years ago in June at Contra Loma I could still do it...so that's what I did. I actually only caught two bass that I sight-fished off of beds, but I was fishing as though I was fishing for spawning bass. Caught all but one bass flippin' around a yammamoto hula grub (208). All bass were in the 1-3lb range. Mostly decent 2.5#ers. Sight-fished one 2lber off of a bed with the hula grub. Then the highlight of the day was when I spotted a HAWG on a bed. I saw her and figured she was probably a good 8 or 9 lber (it's been a while since I've been any real big bass), so I flipped my hula grub at her...and she went for that right away, but only pulled the tails off. Put on another hula grub, and same thing. Then she wouldn't hit it again. Tried a senko, and she would only grab it by the tail and carry it away with no hook in her mouth. Then that's when I decided...all right, time to pull out the top gun...pulled out the same bait that I caught my previous lake record on a few years ago...and after a few pitches she gobbled it right up! When she jumped and started shaking her head that's when I realized that she was a bit bigger than the 8 or 9lbs I figured she was. Well, long story short...got her weighed in at 11.6lbs. That's my new personal best. Not bad for my first trip back to the loma in a couple of years...
City: AntiochTips: I think most of the fish are post-spawn right now, but I wanted to target any late spawners and see if I couldn't luck out with a hawg. Well, sure enough I did. From what I remember, I've usually been able to catch a few big late spawners up until the very end of June. Pitch a hula grub around tules and you'll catch fish.

Report: Yesterday caught 7.6 lb female...spawned out. She fell for a lucky craft lipless bait in Chartruse Shad pattern. Beleive the theories about fishing the wind blown banks...it's all true. Today, caught 8 fish out of the same hole...same bait and same theory. All 1-3.5 lbs.
City: AntiochTips: Anything shad pattern and target the windy banks...shad are following the algae...bass are right behind 'em. Also, baby Bass pattern cranks should work as I snagged Bass frye about 1/4" in lenght...3 times. Bass have definately reached "post spawn" mode...in fact, no bed fish anywhere. GOOD FISHIN' !

City: antioch, caTips: worm color was pink with charchreuse tail and purple with charchreuse tail.

Report: Haven't reported in a while...here's a summary: last 2 weeks I have managed 2 Bass over 10 lbs., six over 7 lbs., and a lot over 5. Fish finally hit their beds and they lowered the lake. Thought it was ruined but it absolutely blew up for me. Many fish caught from Eastern banks and from points on West side.Today was first time in a while I walked away with only a couple of bites.
City: AntiochTips: Senkos and Lucky Craft LV series baits. Even "Chatter Baits" have produced in spots I couldn't buy a bite on a spinnerbait. I was sure this new bait was a gimmick but it rocks! This cool weather today turned 'em off but a warm trend will kick it in gear again. Many fish still are wanting to spawn...also side note...Los Vaqueros is kickin' ass if you are willing to hike quite a way back in to coves.

Report: Went out on easter. I fished for half the day. Only got one bite. It was an 11 pounder on her bed getting ready to spawn. It took me about 20 minutes to get her to bite. Caught her on a lizard.
City: Redwood CityTips: Throw it on the bed and barely move it. Keep it in there as long as posible.
