Report: showed up at noon to bass boat central. tried my luck near dam where the water was the clearest. fished jigs, carolina rigs, texas rigs and had no luck. went to southern end and fished a texas rigged 10" power worm along the creek channel and caught 2 keepers 4lb and 2lb(10-15ft). must of been about 8 boats fishing the creek didn't see or hear of any good fish caught.

Tips: afternoons seem to be your best bet. slow retrieves. hold your ground. dont get run over by the million dollar bass boats

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I met Gary in a pub in Cupertino the day after he caught the 16.8. He showed me 4 pictures of the hog. The best and biggest bass I've ever seen! He was with his friend and I have to say that these guys were totally cool people. They knew what they were talking about and obviously knew what they were doing to catch such a huge lunker. Gary, I'll say it again...well done man! Thanks for showing me the pics.
    City: San Jose

Tips: I'm not going to give away Gary's secret, but I will say the bigger the bait, the bigger the fish!

Report: I just called the ranger office and they're predicting that the ramp will be closed Thursday night.

I also talked to the guys at fisherman's warehouse and no one there has heard of the 16 pounder. Sounds like a hoax to me so far.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: FYI: I'm pleased to say the 16 pounder was released unharmed back into the lake.

    Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: FYI only: I met a guy who claims he caught the lake record this week. I have to say I was a bit skeptical, then he pulls out some photos. My jaw dropped! The biggest bass I've ever seen. 16 1/2 lbs. He is having it documented and you can see pictures of it at Fisherman's warehouse. Does anyone know for sure what the existing Coyote Reservoir record is? Just curious.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Coyote on 10/23, 8 AM to 1 PM. Float tube, western shore. Slow! A 1 pounder and a 2 pounder off of texas-rigged worm and jig/brush hawg, respectively. Mixed reports from bass boats I encountered. One guy said he caught 25-30 fish, with top 3 combined going 12+ pounds, off of a Hula Grub on a jig head. Bastard. He caught them on the weed line. No luck for me on the weed line, except for the 1 pounder. The 2 pounder came off of a lake point w/ lots of rocks.
    City: Belmont, CA

Tips: Hey, hit that weed line and if that doesn't work, some fatties will probably be hanging on main lake points hunting crawdads.

    Water Temp: 68

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: i have been fishing coyote once a week for the last 6 weeks.
been launching at about 1 oclock

been hooking a big fish every time i go out.
    10lb11oz,6lb 8oz, 5lb 3oz
    they seem to be scattered
one day hitting a jig with a blue trail but lately a pumpkin trail
big ones seem to be on rocks ,smaaler ones on dead wood
i can catch the 2 to 3 lbs on the same spot but rarely two big fish at the same location
fall is coming and i notice the jig bite coming on stronger
to bad the launch ramp closes within 3 weeks
i know there is big bass to be caught in nov and im bummed the ramp is closing down
caught some bass on shad colored crank and like colored blade
lots of bites on drop but there small now
it seems to me the best bite is between 430 and 500 oclock in the evening then it shuts down or maybe a change of color is needed

let me know how yall are doing its great to see posts on coyote and even if it onl;y for a couple more weeks

    Report: Hey guys,

Everyone setup is different. It all depends on how comfortable you are with your setup. As long as you stay in the 7' to 8'1/2" range with rods your fine. I use a 8'1/2" lamaglass swimbait rod with a reel that is a 5:1 gear ratio because it gives the swimbait better action with the slower retrieve. I also add a 15lbs to 17lbs yozuri hybrid monofilament line to my arsenal.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Make sure you use mono and not braid because braid don't stretch and when a big bass tries to inhale a swimbait with braided line, it struggles to get it in its mouth. Trust me, use mono instead.

    Water Temp: 72 Degrees

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I was out yesterday and boy the fish were tough to get so...... when the going gets tough then throw swimbaits. 8" swimbaits was the key for me yesterday and I tell ya throwing swimbaits for 6 hours straight will put a beatin on you. I caught 3 bass in a matter of the six hours i fished but they wern't small. The first fish weighed in at 7.2lbs, 5.1lbs, 8.4...
    City: San Jose

Tips: I was throwing 8" offspreys rainbow trout and caught the 8.4lbs and castaic 8" rainbow trout and caught the other 2. Use a moderete retreive and find the breaks with your depth finder
