Water Temp: 68-74
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Took a trip up to the lake for old times since it might be closing July 1 (budget cuts). Fishing for me wasn't so good it might have been because of the fry in the lake.I have never seen such a good hatch at Del Valle in the past 23 years I have been fishing the lake. Their was 1in to 2in fry on every part of the lake.

Water Temp: unknown
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Hit the lake just after it opened. Went straight to the tules across from the ramp just like someone had posted. Stayed in about 12 foot of water just outside the weeds. Threw my trusty chug bug in front of a tule pocket, let the ripples dissapear, then twitched it "whoosh" had me a toad or so I thought. Couldn't bring him in out of the weeds. Caught my breath then cast to another pocket, again whoosh, had him on but halfway to the boat the fish spits out my bug. I'm scratching my head, what the hell's wrong here? Well, I put down the spinning rig, and changed to my senko rod. I spot a clump of tules next to some lie down wood where a previous fish had gotten off the hook ( that'll teach me not to sharpen the hooks before I go out). Cast the senko, never hit bottom line starts goin out, bam I finally boat a fish, beautiful 4.3. Strong fish! Had a fish and game tag on it so released it. Well after 7:30 the bite shut down so I left around 10:00.
Hey for all you guys who fish Del Valle, please write your assemblyperson, senator or the governor to keep the park open to all of us in the bay area. As Bernie said, this fishery has come a long way. Good fishing
City: FremontTips: Fish tight to the tules. Poppers, soft jerkbaits
Get out there before the sun comes up for topwater fun

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I heard about the news that they may be closing Del Valle due to budget cuts.It could be as soon as Labor Day. This is not good my fellow anglers. We need to try everything we can to keep our fishery open. I,ve been fishing this lake for a good 30 years and it has come along way, especially the smallmouth population. To see it close would be a crying shame. A friend of mine gave me a number we can call for information and to voice our opinion. They will email you a letter that we can send to the Governor and other officials. We need to do it ASAP!!! The number is 510-544-2212. Please pass it on, Thanks.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well, finally decided to take the float tube out at Del Valle. I've fished Del Valle many times before, but just not in the tube. A worker at the marina directed me to the south end, and I got to work at around 4:00. Fished from the Eagles nest parking lot to the creek arm, and back again, knocking off at around 8:30. Ended up with over 20 fish released, 2 biggest went 7 and 8. The 7 lber had an ebrpd tag, which i later found out meant that it was a Florida Strain. I caught him around 8:20 pm, on a black buzz in the south end.Hopefully I didnt have to keep the tag, or something. All fish were up in the tulles, and were slammin Senkos. They wouldnt touch spinnerbaits or cranks, only worms and jigs. Fishing was so good, I got locked in the parking lot! Thanks to the ebrpd guy for lettin me out. tight lines
City: HaywardTips: fish the shallows with worms, deeper spots in weeds with jigs
