Report: YES!! DVL is open again for private boats. Fished DVL Fri, Sat, and Sun. DVL is still the best Bass lake in Southern Cal. Caught double and triple limits everyday. Typical December DVL bite. Deep finesse baits, spoons, creature baits and worms all got bites. Fish size ranged from 2 - 5 pounds. All of the bass were super clean and healthy looking.
    City: Sun City

Tips: Bass are deep. 30 - 60 feet. Take a fizz needle with you. Best tip, if you get clouds and wind, toss bigger soft baits for bigger bites!!

Report: Water level was nearly 100 feet below normal. Saw islands, rock piles and long points that I had no idea were there. Rental boat was a step down from the Champion (LOL), but we had a great time. Got a tour of the lake with Mike Guitsi, one of the guys who designed this lake. Great bite! Couple good fish on top water, and a bunch of nice fish on Texas worms, Brush Hogs, and the DVL favorite DS. About 20 fish caught, 3.5 pound average, biggest was 5 pounds.
    City: Sun city

Tips: No change here. Fish points and islands in about 25 - 35 feet of water. Big brown worms, Watermelonseed Brush Hogs, and that little pink worm still gets big bites.

Report: Tons of fish sunday... the fish are really on shad. Any shad imitation bait is getting bit. Majority of fish are in the 2-3lb range. Had two fish over 5 eat the spoon in 30ft of water. I found a good bait ball with solid marks and went to town.

    Water Temp: 79-81

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished the last 3 days and monday finally got into some GOOD quality. I fished topwater early but that only produced a few dinks ( 2-3lbs) swicthed over to the big worm and still couldnt find quality. Saw a ton of old bluegill beds so i figured the bass were on the blue gill fry. Tied on a Bill Norman DD22 in blue gill pattern and covered ALOT of water. I only caught 6 fish in the 4 hours i threw the crank but all were between 5-7lbs. If you want big fish at DVL and dont mind making a million casts.. mainlake points and a DD22 on 10lb will get you big fish.
    City: the ghetto

Tips: bury the rod tip in the water to get the bait down. Fish are in the 20 - 25ft range.

    Water Temp: 69

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: DVL is one of the hottest southern cal lakes right now. DVL is my home lake and I fished there on Friday, May 30. Friday was the best day I ever had there for big fish. I caught three fish over seven pounds and four others over five pounds. I also caught around ten other two and three pounders. I caught two the sevens on big Senkos, and the other almost eight pounder was caught on the small six inch Triple Trout swimbait. All of the others were caught on Texas rigged big worms and the dropshot. At the end of my day I had two more really giant fish bite the swimbait, but one jumped off, and the other broke my knot and kept my Triple Trout. My fault, should have retied, and it was an expensive lesson. Oh yeah, also caught a twelve pound carp on six pound test

Tips: Six inch worms will get more bites, but toss bigger worms, lizards, and brush hogs for bigger fish. If you see any top water action, toss a big top water bait or the swimbait. When all else fails, fish the dams and wacky rig the Senko on light line.

    Water Temp: 60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out on the 2nd and roped fish all day. Started off with a 1/2 ou spinner bait and caught a 7 pounder slow rolling a point. Roped a few more and then I threw senkos against the damn and pulled out two 5's and three 6 pounders. I also fished 1/2 ounce jigs with a yamamoto twin tail and picked up some 3 pounders. Great day on the lake caught 27 total.
    City: Hemet

Tips: did not catch anything on the swim bait and just one small one on a crank, through spinner baits in the morning

Green pumpkin w/ a red firetail has been working very well but no big fish today.

Report: I heard the ABA at DVL was tough for the majority.WOW! Soo much for swimbait skills, huh? Drop-shotters improvised huh? I wonder had some of those swimbaits been modified with a big TREBLE riding "shotgun" on the head, free slipped on the main line could some of those "muffs" been "BANGED"! *TWO SHANKS MUST BE BENT TOWARD THE IMBEDDED ONE!

Report: Topwater & LC staysee bite is going great on the main lake in the AM. Once the sun gets up I'm finding big fish on the main lake points suspended about 35-40 feet down and getting them on weighted swimbaits. My bait is probably about 25 feet down.

Drop shots are also taking some fish shallow as well.

Report: Fished DVL with a friend today (Scott). We landed about 10-12 fish while fishing all new spots on the lake we'd never fished before. Pretty fun to get work off and go fishing during the week.

    Here is Scott's fish.

Report: Went out trying to fish some of the new 4" tubes for deep largies. Found out that these Outlaw 4" Slam It tubes and 5" Firetail tubes do very well out here in deep water.

Caught around 17-18lbs by 1030am. Most of my fish came between 45-60 feet of water on a 3/8oz texas rig'd 4" Outlaw Tube in watermelon red.

    Water Temp: Low 80's

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started out at 630am with the early birds. Fished a dam on the west side of the lake in the AM and did pretty well. Caught fish in about 25-45 feet of water, mostly by drop shotting 2" panic minnows in shad pattern and morning dawn 6" worms.

Boated over 20 keepers by 9am and had over 17lbs. One of the better morning bites I've ever had at DVL for numbers. No giants but lots of 2-3lb keepers and my buddy caught a smallmouth. Love this lake!

Report: Started at first light. Fished in 10-30 feet of water. Caught 23 fish on drop shots, darterhead panic minnows, and small topwater. Key for me has been keeping the plastic baits on the bottom.

Had a 7lb & 5lb class fish and a 3.8lb. Should have entered the Ironman event today; I would have done ok. :)

Report: Haven't been on the lake in a few weeks but I found most of the fish that where on beds where not there anymore. Summer pattern seemed to be in full effect. My fish came on main lake structures in 15-25 feet of water. Drop shot and darthead Panic Minnow from Density-Tackle where the ticket. Landed over 15 fish today by myself which is pretty good for DVL from what I heard at the ramp. Nothing over 4.5lbs however...

    Report: Pics here: http://www.nwbasser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=20207#20207

Only got 8 bites today (hooked 5) but there were some good ones. The biggest fish came in 38 foot of water on a 1/2oz football heads jig & brush hog combo & 12lb test Vicious Fluorocarbon; all the other fish came on Panic Minnows & Bass8baits 6" shakey head worms on a drop shot.
    City: Hemet

Tips: Fish deep w/ fluorocarbon line instead of mono. Less stretch and it sinks which helps the bait get down and stay down during the retrieve.
