Water Temp: 46-48 Degrees
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I was surprised at the water clarity-able to see a chartruese spinnerbait at about 2'! The lake is waaaaay up-the Ranger told me that in way day the lake came up 11'vertical feet and 10' another day! The water is completly littered with logs, trees, stumps, etc so running is next to impossible. Basically went just to get the wife out in the new boat but couldnt resist throwing a bait or two. I fished a jig/pig combo,a 1 ton spider grub and for measuring water clarity a chartreuse spinnerbait. It was a foggy, cold, ugly and fishless day but it was time on the water!

Water Temp: 51 to 52
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well the bass have moved out and down tighter to structure now most fish are in 18 to 30 feet of water and the bite is still good on jig& yamamoto single tail grug combo. Lite pumpkin green & watermelon black & red flake ( yamamoto ) single tail in 3/8oz football head still producing bass to 4 pounds. Numbers are down & traffic is lite water level is up and stable 5mph is holding bass off the humps and dropoffin 20 to 30 feet of water.
City: kerman caTips: This time of year when it starts to get cold be sure when you hook these bass in deep water dont bring them up fast it will blow there stomachs up and some fish wont survive. ROCK PILE DROP OFFS THE FRONT OF THE DAM IN 18 TO 40 FEET OF WATER HOLDS FISH EAST BANK FROM RANGER STATION TO EAST RAMP HOLD NICE FISH.

Water Temp: 51to53
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Today was a slower day on the water the bass were holding in deeper water and the bite was off a little because the water level was come up several feet and the lake is stained now. There are some nice bass still being caught but not as many. Bass are in the 2 to 3 pound class with the big fish being 11 pounds caught on a swim bait by ron sanchez of fresno ca. The color to use are still green pumpkin ( yamamoto )grubs in 208 watermelon/red&black flake single tail as a trailer work good. i throw i own jigs ( Lefty's lure co.)bass jigs in lite green pumpkin in 3/8 oz. football with nickle mustad 3/0 hook we have been trying new color ive made up starting in 2006 and they have been working well. Will have more info well i fine tune these baits here and at hensley lake. im working on a a spring time jig for shallow bass that should be a real heart stopper. Triffic is lite and the weather is off and on with overcast.
City: kerman ca.Tips: Fish slow and rock piles and creek channels are godd right now jigs are a very good bait to throw for 2 to 4 pounds bass swim bait are a big fish bait and get fewer bites. But quilty is always on the big side useing that bait.

Water Temp: 54 to 55
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Well a new year and the bass are still on a good bite. And jigs are still the hot bait to throw pumpkin green 3/8 oz football head & a yamamoto single tail watermelon grub with red/black flake works very well. The bass are still in the 2 to 4 pound range and are still holding on base of rock piles and are still in fairly shallow water the rain has pounded the lake but that hasnt shut the bite down. A friend and i had 22 bass to 3 pounds most coming out of 8 to 15 feet of water. Key areas are 5mph area east bank from dam area to east ramp. swim your bait but make contact with the bottom at all times. Dont let the rain stop you at this lake clear sky are ahead and fishing should get even better.
City: kerman ca.Tips: Slow is better contact swimming the bait rock piles and dropoffs/rock hold most of the bass

Water Temp: 51 to53
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fishing here is a little tougher the water clarity is stained and the bass are depper than over at eastman. Jigs here work well as fish are still on the long points and still in the cuts off drop offs fish are 1 to 2 pound range and are falling to brown and purple w/brown pork & brown w/watermelon single tail yamamoto grub as a trailer. there are some fish holding around the base of rock piles. The river area is muddy main body is stained also there letting water out but lake is stable. Again dont shy away from this lake when it rains. Fish slow work and area before moving to your next spot patience is very important here this time of year at this lake.
City: kerman ca.Tips: Long points dropoffs cuts base of rock piles are your best bt here slow slow slow is the key to putting some nice bass in the boat.

Water Temp: 54
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 0700-1330 hr., dozens of small one pound and smaller fish from the no fish area South to the dam. Moved to the North end about 1100 hr., found quality fish at the base of isolated bouders/rock piles, dropshot/crank. Jigs and creature bates were NOT the ticket today, dropshotting was all they seemed to want. However, once the wind blew lipless cranks with a lot of flash produced 2-4 pound fish. Oddly enough the majority of the lager fish came right off the bank from under the rocks. We probably caught 25-30 fish with 8-10 in the 2-4 pound range. The lake is coming up and is in good shape for this time of the year with a substantial amount of logs and debris in the water so be careful. Dropshot worm was a Reactions Innovations 4" Oxblood and Watermelon Red Flake. Crank - Lucky Craft American Shad slowwwww rolled. What a way to spend New Years Day.
City: TurlockTips: When the wind blows and puts a little chop on the water throw the crank!!!

Report: W O W !!!! Drove up to Eastman Friday evening-I HAVE NEVER seen it this low! There was only one boat out there (probably was Juan!) I just cant allow myself to launch my new Stratos up there! Friggin Islands and brush and etc sticking up EVERYWHERE! Why do they allow these lakes to get soooo low? Dont gimme this crap about rain neither-I have seen all the water coming thru Chowchilla! Seems to me they would keep as much as they could till they see what the winters gonna be like! Anyone that goes up there be careful-its an awesome lake but its pretty dangerous right now this low. Tight Lines Guys!!!
City: ChowchillaTips: Juan I'll make a point of it to look for ya around Thanksgiving up there-I'll be in a White/Blue?silver Stratos w/a Yamaha 200!

Report: Juan....damn shame isnt it? We spend all this money on our gear and license etc and with all the taxes we pay and stuff you'd think they'd have enough to get enough people to patrol. It's such a shame we all do everything by the book and one small percentage of poachers takes it all away. Have you been up lately? I was thinking of taking my new Stratos up tommorrow (sat) to see if I could boat my first fish outta her! Tight Lines-thanks for caring and doing what you could man-wish everybody did the same-GOOD JOB!
Tight Lines-see ya on the lake!
