Lake is REEEEEALLY low-I have fished here since it opened and have NEVER seen it this low....30 boats on the lake and there was practicually no place left to fish! Annnnyway just be careful not to damage your boat if you go. We did manage a fish or 2-several dinks in the 5"-13" size but I was rewarded with a very nice fat 3.5lber! We caught everything on either a Spro crankbait or blades. Tight Lines,BE CAREFUL UP HERE!!!

Report: hey Juan, what did you use and where(depth) did you catch your fish, I've gone 5 times(@night) with nothing.
I agree the rules are set for a reason lets all do our best to obey them and another thing hooking a fish deep in its throat doesn't automaticly mean cut the the line.
I have lost a couple fish when they couldn't equal out and they would float, Tips?
City: fresnoTips: for a fish hooked deep: use locking pliers and grab the eye of the hook from behind (through the gills) the fish and carefully bring the eye of the hook out through the gills. Then let the pliers hang(locking) and with other pliers go in through the mouth and grab the stright cruve of the hook and work it out carefully. Unlock the hanging pliers and FREE the fish with no questions.Thank you!

Water Temp: 65-70
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: started before sun up in the trees. My bubby caught two small ones on a worm, I got one nice fish one a popper and another came clear out of the water for it, I lost it cause I pulled while the fish was still in the air, looked like a nice 3lb+ it was very disappointing. Caught one more nice fih in the trees on a crankbait he went a little over 3.5lbs. Went to the eastside of the lake and worked south, caught about 7-8 small fish and one 4.3lbs on worms. moved to the westside and caught one. Wind startd to blow and it was getting hot so we called it a day at about noon.
City: FresnoTips: Tournament seemed to shut the fish down cause the day before we caught about 10 more fish and one 6lbs. hawg
A lot of big fish are jumping early in the morning, does anybody know why?
where can I find out how that tournament turned out? -
Water Temp: 66
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., my buddy and I had boated 6 and lost a few. The fishing was really tough. There was a BASS club holding a tournament, and they were all roughly catching the same amount if not any. It was not as active as it was normally. Saw a few fish on beds.
City: LemooreTips: Try everything and anything... We drop shot most fish that were caught. One fish was caught on a spinner bait.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Me and my partner were the second boat on the water, not much wind everything looked perfect. Started shallow 1 to 10 feet, partner caught one quick that went 2.5 pounds. We did'nt get bit for about another 30 minutes, it seems like this lake is just being fished very hard right now. We caught fish all over the lake, but most of them were small, I broke one off near the keep out bouy line. We caught them on jigs worms and brushogs, all shallow. Are biggest fish was just under three pounds. We ended up catching 14 fish but not as good as I wanted to do. Oh well it was still fun and a great day. Good luck!!
City: CoalingaTips: Keep fishing a wide range of depths, fish are from the surface to 15 feet or more and there crusing all over the lake.

Water Temp: 67-71 depending

Report: Bass fishing with my friend JJV of Madera.
Probably 40-45 fish total. A lot of 12 inch males and some healthy 17-18 inch fish. Most were close to shore with some around rock piles. Berkley 7" power worms, Berkley 10" power worms, Keeper 6" "camo" worms, pig&jig and others. They were definitely on the bite.
But the bonus of the day.....
Around 8AM I was playing around with a Berkley worm on "drop shot" in the north cove and a fish hit that bait like a freight train. I was using 12lb. Trilene with a spinning rod. I fought that fish for at least 5 minutes and I was sure I had the new world record for large mouth bass. The drag on the reel screamed. My arm ached. I could see my name in the newspaper... I finally wore it down and brought it close to the boat and I could see that it was a huge fish. Yes, a giant CARP. 32" long and about 18-20lbs. Oh well, it was fun. And it was a beautiful day and I spent time with my friend JJV.

Water Temp: 63 to 67
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I had to come back since I did well the day before started similar to the day before but as soon as I started casting the bass were biting. I took one of my buddies that had never been there and he loved it. My first fish was a three pounder and I was pumped, I had 3 three pounders by 9:00am. Got in to a real nice one that would have went 8 or 9 pounds but luck was not on my side and the fish was able to spit the hook. The fish were biting all day around 12:30pm I caught a 5.1 pound bass. Nice fish that just made my day me and my partner caught a couple more and then called it a day. I ended up with 17 fish and my partner with 6 fish, my biggest five would have went around 16 pounds today so bringing my two day total to around 33 pounds, good enough for me. See ya out there and good luck!!!
City: CoalingaTips: Just get on the water the bass are everywhere and they are active as can be. Try shallow but don't sit in one spot all day, it seems that fish move in and out all day. Good luck and God Bless.
P.S. lots of two to four pounders on both days.

Water Temp: 63 to 67
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Started around 6:00 am found fish up shallow in the weeds and rocks. After about 45 minutes of fishing I had one small fish then caught a 4 pound largemouth, then two casts later caught a three pounder. My partner was struggling to get a fish in the boat. We covered a lot of shoreline and found an area loaded with fish where we hooked up with a double, and caught a couple more fish. Went across the lake later in the morning and my partner was able to hook up with a fish. After not seeing alot of activity near the front of the lake we went back to where we had started. I was throwing a jig in about 5 to 15 feet and hooked up with a good fish. So we stayed in the area for a while and caught some more fish ended up leaving around 2:00pm. There was alot of fishing pressure, but everyone can catch some fish. My best five fish would have went around 17 pounds with two 4 pounders and three 3 pounders. Good day on the water and lots of fun, I caught 10 fish total and my partner caught 4 fish.
City: CoalingaTips: Look for bass moving around in the morning, the big ones seem to be crusing in the middle of the day. Cast a variety of baits around for them and make a lot of casts that is the key, cover as much water as you can. Good luck and God Bles.

Water Temp: 65+or-
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Tried it again-this time with my dad. Today I managed 3 and dad caught 1. 1 on a darter,1 on a ripbait and 2 on senkos-both of the senko fish were a tad over 2 lbs. I guess I just dont have the hot hand this year yet-yalked to 2 guys and they were doing "pretty good" on flukes which looked to be in alewife. 9 boats already on the water when we got there at 830. STILL did not see 1 fish in the shallows as hard as I looked, but both the senko fish came off trash pushed up against the shore. Hope this helps somebody out-Tight Lines.
City: ChowchillaTips: AGAIN ANOTHER boat in the closed zone and so blatant....they saw us coming across the lake and snuck back into the open area and as soon as they could tell we werent rangers or the warden right back in the closed zone they went! I just couldnt enjoy it constantly looking over my shoulder for the law could you?
