Report: Right there with you Scott. It is sad that I would rather drive over a hour to the delta than 10 minutes to folsom due to the fact that there are way to many unsafe boaters out on the water. You can't even go into the 5 mph zones to get away with them. They need to post a definition of no wake at the launch ramp. As far as Capt Kev goes, unsafe activities out on a body of water sould be posted on a fishing report. If you were a dad looking on this web sight for a place to take your 10 yr old son out fishing for the first time on your small 10 foot john boat would unsafe acts, water traffic, irresonsible behavior, and crowded boat ramps be a factor on your decision to visit a lake. It should be. I did not hear any one objecting when people were posting the status of the wood problem on the lake this spring. It was a safety issue but was it realy a fishing issue, maybe if you were flipping wood pockets, but most people were posting it as a safety issue. Gee, getting hit by a drunk guy on a jet ski or loosing a lower unit on a log. I am more worried about the jet skier. Capt Kev, are you an actual state cerified captain or is that just a self proclaimed title. Any true captain knows that safety is their #1 priority. My email is ringneckus@yahoo.com if you would like to drop me a line.

Tips: I wish the rangers were more present on this lake. It is a beautiful place but it has been turned into a joke. It is a shame that the actions of the few make things unsafe for the many. Scott, I will be there in the winter to fish the FBL.

Report: To CaptKev, If you fish Folsom for any amount of time, you will know that the pleasure boat traffic is a very big part of any anglers day on this lake. As for the definitions, it was used in humor to show that not all pleasure boaters are the same and there are people out there to enjoy the water and not ruin the day for everyone else. As for the submission rules, please post your email so this type of conversation can be handled off of the forum and not take up space for a fishing report on a very crowded Folsom Lake
    City: Roseville

Tips: When posting like Capt.Kev, please include an email address to increase the odds of not being considered a "drive-by" poster.

    Report: Gentlemen,
Lets all remember the definitions of each of the three types of boaters present on our waterways during the summer months.

LAKE LICE... are what the Jet Skiers are referred to. These are the idiots that have no control over their vessels, constantly buzz fisherman (whether trolling or fishing a main lake rockpile) and have NO regard for the 5 MPH buoys. Many are under the 16 yr. old limit set forth in the law and have no clue as to what their vessel can or cannot do.

LAKE MAGGOTS...are the boaters that must blare their music about raping their sisters and killing cops at a level that offends people 10 miles away. They are the ones that wave their flag franticly if you are within 1/4 mile of their downed skier, but as soon as he is skiing again has NO problem coming within casting distance of you. These are the kids that either got permission from mom or dad to take the boat, or are sneaking it out while mom & dad are at work. They have no business behind the wheel of a 2000 lb. boat doing 40-50 MPH while drinking a beer and are a menace to everyone that enjoy the lakes and rivers

PLEASURE BOATER...This is the guy (or gal) that may have a hard time getting his rig into the water, but has the utmost respect to stay the legal distance from other boats, maintains the appropriate speed near boats and swimmers and CLEANS up his trash after he empties his boat at the end of the day. This is the person out to enjoy a day on the water with his family

IDIOT BUSINESSMAN... The fool renting boats to any uneducated person with cash that comes along at the Granite Bay ramp. Why the state takes on this liability is beyond me.

Report: Here is a report from an early morning trip I took to check conditions on Folsom for this Sunday's FOLSOM BASS LEAGUE event out of Granite Bay. There is a really good topwater bite throughout the lake on Rico's and Vixens. Areas that are drawing bigger fish are rockpiles that are marked with hazard buoys. Some of these piles are down about 10 ft. now, but those fish will come out of 20 ft. to get that topwater. Main body is good with just a little wind, but when the boat traffic comes or the wind kicks up, those fish won't come up as easily. You can then dropshot or darthead these fish on 4 or 6 inch Roboworms in Ayu, Hologram Shad or Warmouth. You can throw cranks on the mudlines when the boat traiffic gets going for 2 lb. fish.
The FOLSOM BASS LEAGUE SUMMER SERIES event this Sunday will go out of Granite Bay with check-in beginning at 4:30 AM at the bathroom area at Granite Bay. Weigh-in will begin at 12/noon for the first flight with awards shortly after the last boat weighs in. Entry fee is $80 and there is a $20 big fish option available. Check out the FOLSOM BASS LEAGUE at www.folsombassleague.com for all of the up-to-date info about our events, rules, entry forms or to read the informative articles written about Folsom by local Pro's. See ya out there.
    City: Roseville

Tips: Topwater all day, dropshot or darthead if you want, you'll catch fish or throw some cranks or blades if the wind gets going.

    Water Temp: ALMOST BOILING

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Last Saturday I was on the lake at 5:05 a.m. & by 6:30 I had 5 large mouth bass in my livewell. Catching 5 very,VERY HEFTY LMB.in a row for an early limit was a first for me on Folsom Lake..... All "Largie's" <Gino's Slang for a large mouth bass)All where caught on Top-Water & they where all fairly tight to the shore & not one of them just bumped my offering, they freakin INHALED IT!!!! . My sixth fish was my one & only spot @ 3.2 Lb. just by looking at this fish I knew he or she would know be my smallest of 4..... SHHHHH I mean f i v e !!! Ten min's or so later CHUG,CHUG,CHUG SLURP !!! Another big "LARGIE" & out goes SPOT .I finished up with around ten or so fish all "LARGIE'S" except for the one spot. I had my boat back on the trailer around 10ish, final weight between 15-20 lb. I told myself too hit it again in the morning & I did. What a huge differance 20 hrs. & 2-3' of drop in the water level made. The fish on Sunday where know where to be found up tight to the shore. It took me about an hour to convince myself that the 2-3' wet area between the water & dry land around the shoreline was not caused by all the pleasure boater's from Saturday, but rather the release of one hell of a lot of water!!! So an adjustment was well over due!! I left the shoreline & headed out looking for fish in deeper water, WHAT A DIFFERANCE A DAY CAN MAKE!!! I caught fish, but by the time I convinced myself the lake had dropped 2-3', which pulled the fish off the shallow's over night, my big bite I felt had come & gone! So I settled in for a good laugh at the launch ramp & what a good laugh it can be ENJOY ~MJB!!!!!
    City: Granite Bay

Tips: DONT GET LOCKED INTO THINKING THAT WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY , WILL HAPPEN AGAIN TODAY!!!! ALWAYS BE READY TO ADJUST , SOONER THAN LATER! ~MJB

Report: Great day out on the lake with the family today - Fished and wakeboarded. I guess that makes me a lake lice or water maggot. Blasted off out of G.Bay with no major tourney for once. I guess the tourney guys need to spend a couple of saturdays at their kids soccor game every now and then. I bet the wife was happy too. Maybe these guys will get lucky tonight. Fishing report: Son and I caught 10-15 up to 3#'s on drop shots off the peninnsula. No bites on top water - might need some advice for the AM top water bite. Good luck.
    City: folsom, ca

Tips: Enjoy the early AM at Folsom w/out the over obsessed tourney guy trying to get to "his" spot.

Report: REPORT SUBMISSION RULES: Simply, let's keep it about fishing and reports of your day on the water. The reports area is not for arguments, advertising, or general discussions. It is for fishing reports. If you would like to have a discussion about something, please use our Fishing Forums.

If there is a submission on any of our reports pages that is not a fishing report, it will be removed. By clicking on the "Submit Fishing Report" button below you agree that you understand and will abide by these rules

Tips: You guys that are supporting the lake lice that are mentioned in the reports need to re read the rules. Like the other guy said if the lake lice affect the fishing, then that is part of a FIGHING REPORT.

Report: WATER DOG. This is a Bass fishing web site, how about respecting it for that? A lake is open for all recreation users, and it is up to us to give proper respect to others while doing there own thing. So in the future, please keep your non-fishing comments off of this site. Thank you for you cooperation.

Report: Fishken - My point exactly! I too am an avid bass fisherman that also enjoys being out on the water doing other activities. These over-obsessed tourney guys have had that lake all to themselves for the past 6 months. Go fish the 5MPH Zone or Lake Natomas if you don't want to to deal with families out on the lake during the warm weather. Unless you have truely been assualted by a boat wake, and fallen into the lake as a result, while fishing in a 5 mph zone quit bitchin.
    City: Folsom

Tips: Must we group all the good people that use the lake for family recreation "Lake Lice?" C'mon guys. I can think of hundreds of terms for the over obsessed bass guy.

Report: Hey Kev, wouldnt you agree that if a certain body of water is over run with lake lice ie. jet skiers, and that effects the fishing, then dont you think that is part of a fishing report? I would think that it is.

Report: Headed out of Granite Bay @ 05:00 and started throwin a spook on the hazard markers straight accrost from GB. Wow! What fun that was. I picked up two keepers by 5:15. My buddy was throwing a Pop-R and had several dinks. Before the sun came up over the hills, I landed and released 6 spots with one of them being a 3+.

After the sun hit the water, we changed to drop-shoting and of course I grabbed my Nate Shake rod and pulled in several more in the 1.5 to 2# range.

Of the water by 9:00 and on to the lawns.

Report: Hey Bobby don't sweat it... Last year I left a report on how my day was, and ended it with.. got off the water before all the Knuckle heads got on the lake.... then someone got all upset. There is always that one person. Lake lice, knuckle heads, or what have you. WE are not refrencing that I "WE" are better than others. But speaking of the FEW "SOME" people that either have lack of experience boating, and lack of respect for others who share the lake. Boo who to those who don't get IT. We are all fisherman, and should respect all, no matter pro, amature, weekend fisherman. There will always be that one person. The worst day fishing beats the best day working. Fishing REPORT. Went up south fished the wall on the left side. Drop shotted 4 up to 2#'s Top water first thing in morning, in back of coves up south and caught 5, all small. Caught fish working spook and a slow pace. All hits were on the pause.
