Water Temp: 49
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Was at the lake 2 pm to a tough bite on jigs. After two hours I had one spot 2.5 lbs. I figured if its tough I might as well throw the Huddleston. After three cast's was hit by 7 lbs 12 oz of spotted bass, the only hitch is that a 4lb 12 oz was on the front hooks and a 3 lb on the back stinger.I had no problems throwing the swimbait the rest of the day.
City: Granite Bay Ca.Tips: I'll take luck over skill any day !

City: Granite Bay caTips: Swim baits. 10 feet No Small or Large mouth.
Big bite shut off at 10:30 am but still caught

Water Temp: 52-55
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the A/C Foothills tournament and didn't get to prefish like I wanted to. Wouldn't have mattered as the lake level fell 10 ft. in the 4 days preceeding the tournament. We had the game plan of running shallow, flat points all day and power fishing with rips, cranks & jigs. Had one point at about 7:35 AM that kicked out 3 - 3 lb. fish in about 5 minutes. As fast as we could put them in the well is a fast as they bit. Two on a Staysee and one on a DD22. Caught another 3 lb. Black on a jig and finshed out our limit on another rip fish. Wind never really got going, but when the breeze came on so did the bite. Stayed shallow and worked the main body all day. Eneded up with 15.53 lbs. for a 4th place finish and a $530 check. Great day with a great partner, great job Greg.
City: RosevilleTips: The water color and great weather has kept the fish shallow. We were lucky enough to find that magical wolfpack of big fish and hit them hard for a short flurry. Throw reaction when the wind gets going and slow to a jig when the lake slicks off. Good Luck

Water Temp: 50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Rain was the name of the game early but cleared to glass later.Started off with six inch optima swim bait, third toss 5.5 largemouth. Went up river to check temp. Too low and fish were scarse. Moved back past temp line sarted with swim bait again, no takers. I had a real fast retrieve, just wanted to break some of my records. Moved to mouth of south fork dragged one ton 50-75 feet, fish were stacked. Couldn't move it more than 30 feet wihtout a taker. Enjoed the bite(kept it quiet).
City: SacTips: Watch electronics for shad and pond smelt, know the difference. If they are in that depht range big limits are possible. Shallow fish will almost always be there but, if you want your monies worth seek the schools this time of year. Good fishing, Jim

Water Temp: 48-52
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 8:30-3:30 total score was 13 spots from 1-2.5lbs. Excellent weather for January!Little to no wind most of the day. Alfish were caught on cranks in 4-12 of water. The key for finding fish was to find an area where there was a steep drop off near shallow water.Fish seemed to be hanging around the edge. Caught 7 of my fish in an hour on this pattern by an island in the main body of the lake. Color of cranks did not sem to matter much-caught fish on 4 different colors.
City: antelopeTips: Great winter fishing!

Water Temp: 47-50
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Yes the fishing is hard but some can get a bite or two. I went out in the afternoon for three hours and my first bite was in the South Fork just outside of New York Cove. not a keeper. Used up one tank of fuel in the search of some bass.
City: RocklinTips: I spoke to some bass fisherman and it seems that drop shot was the set up to use.
-
Water Temp: 49-52
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: First time out to actually fish with my FBL partner Greg Hernandez. Caught 2 on shallow main lake points on cranks in Chartruese and "hot mustard". Only got bit on points with a good wind blowing on them. When the lake slicked off, the fish disappeared. Only caught the 2, but felt we had a solid pattern to work from if the wind would have cooperated.
City: RosevilleTips: Crank and throw alot of reaction baits. Muddy water is keeping these fish shallow and it is beginning to warm with these beautiful days we have been having.
-
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: WENT OUT SATURDAY TO ENJOY THE BEAUTIFUL WEATHER. STARTED OUT ON THE PENNINSULA ACROSS FROM BROWNS. TOSSED WHITE SPINNER BAIT WITH NO TAKERS. SWITCHED OVER TO MY GOOD OLD STAND BY (NO MATTER WHAT TIME OF YEAR) A CAROLINA RIGGED ROBO WORM IN OXBLOOD W/ RED FLAKE. MANAGED (3) SPOTS TO 2.5 LBS. THEY WERE FAT AND PULLED HARD LIKE 4 & 5 POUNDERS, NOT THAT I WOULD KNOW. THEY CAME IN 10 TO 16 FOOT OF WATER OFF GRADUAL DROP OFFS.
City: SAC.Tips: STICK WITH IT. WINTER FISHING AT FOLSOM CAN BE VERY GOOD AT TIMES, ESPECIALLY WITH THE STAINED WATER CONDITIONS WE ARE ENJOYING.

Water Temp: 54
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launced 7:30 hit big fish point 60ft then up to shore, notakers. Hit poinmts farther upstream, no luck. Went to deep ravine bridge no sign of fish, water had cooled from storm. Decided main body would not be influenced by storms. Pulled up to first spot 45-60 ft, caught two and one half limits fairly quickly on drop shot.
City: sactoTips: Bite was very light. You had to continually have contact with bait. Good luck.

Water Temp: 55
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Since the Delta is slow, I decided to try fishing a lake for once. Boy was that a dissapointment. I dropshotted dartheaded and splitshotted the main body to get zilch. I saw alot of bait, but no spots. The arms were coffee colored. Jim S, what kind of structure are you targeting? Steep points, coves, breaks, current, boulder piles, rock piles, ect?
City: sacramentoTips: Unless you like a challenge like me, wait for the prespawn fish.
-
Water Temp: 53
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Started day off with swim baits, no takers. If I had known water was clear I would have tossed rips. Moved on up river of south fork to turkey creek took a nice limit with darts and drops. Moved to main body and searched around for a while and got on one spot caught a nice limit from 2.5 to 3.5 pounds. First limit around 35 ft and second at 45ft. Lake level had dropped to around 418.
God fishing
City: SacramentoTips: Search for solo fish on your depht finder and either toss darts around area or drop shot right on their kitchen table. Good fishing

Kept fishing connected with a 5.4 on next hump. Rode on up river to deep ravine bridge picked up a 3.2 and a 3.4. Early shallow fish came on 4" worm texas, all others drop shot.Fish were everywhere. Limit was around sixteen.
