    Water Temp: 50

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Took my buddy Mike out to the lake and tried showing him a new way to catch big fish. He turned out to be a quick learner. Went into a shallow cove and watched the bass chasing trout or bait. Mike caught a 4lb beauty in about 30 minutes. I had 2 later in the day. We weren't looking for spawners or bank runners. Fished the main lake all morning. Had softball practice so we left at 1 pm. I'm afraid he is hooked on big fish fishing.
    City: orangevale

Tips: Have fun slow down. Fish are in 15 foot wanting to move up. None of our fish had any damage to there fins or tails. They were fat and in grreat shape. Beautiful spots.

Report: Went out with wife between storms. Big John says fish 10 to 2 and I did. Around 12 I nailed a fat 5 1/2 pounder on a Castic swim bait. My wife nailed a fat smallie. Fair amount of wood and dabrie. Left at 2 and had lunch. Shimano swim bait rod 5 to 8 inch model works great. Fished Main lake.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I was out for a few hours this AM to check the status of the wood & debris issue that has plagued Folsom all year. I ripped a couple of fat spots that went home for dinner and found alot of places that had bait & fish stacked up real good. Didn't have my dropshot or darthead rods onboard to try, but I'm sure that there was a decent worm bite as well.

I am pleased to report that the main body and about 1/3 the way up both arms is clear from any major debris problems. The pieces that are on the main body are large, BUT easily seen from long distances and very easy to avoid (like dodging jetskiers). The south fork is mostly clear until just above New York where there is a minor pile swirling around in the temperture break in the gooseneck area. The north fork has alot of scattered debris from Eddie Murphy up thru Anderson Is., but for the most part it is large pieces that are easy to avoid. Amazingly, there is no noticeable debris on the Penninsula, which is great because there won't be any to get back into the lake should the level rise.

I fully expect the State parks to lift the speed limit sometime this week as they had park maintance crews out today cleaning the wood from all of the Granite Bay ramps. I noticed a little drop in the lake level that appeared to strand alot of the debris on the bank, hopefully they will pull about 5-10 ft. out of the lake and get it all up there. The incoming storm should blow what remains on the main body on the bank.

The FOLSOM BASS LEAGUE tournament scheduled for next Sunday, April 9th will go on as scheduled. Like I said, I fully expect the speed limit to be lifted sometime this week and from what I heard from the Honorbound tournament yesterday, the fish are biting really good. I hope to see everyone out for the FOLSOM BASS LEAGUE'S last regular season event next Sunday. it promises to be a great tournament with alot great anglers competing.

For all of the up-to-date information about the FOLSOM BASS LEAGUE, go to www.folsombassleague.com . Our site has all of the up-to-date tournament information, informative articles written by some of Califonia's top pro's and links to alot of information about the sport of bass fishing. I look forward to seeing everyone out there next Sunday.

    Water Temp: 50-57

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Out in the afternoon with Tom Ericson, find the lake set @ 5 mph because of all the wood in the water. The parking lot was filled with trucks and boat trailers, everybody out looking for that large swim bait bass. Last Saturday one of the members from the Basin Bassmaster came in with a BIG bag 31.50 lbs for five fish. So I headed out in the wooded waters into the back of a cove looking for the same thing. For the next two hours the bit was off, until we riged up a split shot with a leach. In 4-8 ft the smallies and spots were found fat and strong. Leaving at dark and the cold front caming in we found no big bass.
    City: rocklin

Tips: fish shallow and in the backs of coves, good luck and becareful.

Report: Loomis Basin Bass club fished folsom today. We had 5 limits out of 11 boats. One team blanked. We weighed 38 fish alive. My Big fish was a beauty at 9.34 lbs. Heavy boat was 31.80 for 5 keepers. Second place was a real nice limit of 24.38 lbs. There big fish was a 6.44 lb spot. My non boater had a 6.80 spot to go with my 9.34. We were culling 4 pounders. Is that insane or what? Best day ever on any lake for me and I've fish for bass over 25 years. We caught over 20 keepers. Had nice limit by 9 a.m. and culled every one by 12:30. From 12:30 to 2:00 it was insane. William and I were high fiveing each other after every toad. My thums are wasted.Fish main lake all day.
    City: orangevale

Tips: The fish are moving up shallow. Fish the windy side of the lake. Fish slow and cover lots of flat points. I didn't find many on the steeper banks. The dead sea is ALIVE.

All in all not a bad day on the water w\ the cold temps & no sun for a couple weeks. Also spent more time running/breaking in the new motor then we did fishing.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Slept in a little. Hit water by 8am. Played guide for my son in law who dosen't get to fish much. He caught a nice 2lber on first cast? I told him that was bad luck. After 4 keepers I reminded him it was bad luck. It was bad luck for me. I only had one taker and I forgot to tighter the drag on my crank bait reel. So nice run no hook set. Somebody better do something about the crappy launch facility at granite bay. There is no room when everybone wants to get out at the same time.Nobody knows how to drop off there driver and get the hell out of the way? Reminds me of driving in san jose at rush hour.
    City: Orangevale

Tips: We had a 3 mile pattern. Every 3 miles of bank we would get one fish. Charge your batterys. No real pattern just dumb luck.I was throwing a 8 inch trout bait first 2 hours with no luck. Jarret caught all 4 fish first 2 hours. Wind came up bite shut down. Go fish oroville or berryessa until folsom gets some water in it.Fish were in 10 feet of water. Lite line dart head grubs? Good Luck.
