Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished 6th and 7th and had the lake to myself. Glass in the morning and puddling baitfish, trout and bass up the North Fork to Rat Bar. One 4-5 lb spot on the tube on Monday at 10 am. out deep she looked pre-spawn. Lots of fish in rocky flat areas free of newly sumerged grasses, but must have deep water adjacent. Keep moving until you get bit, the fish bit right away and usually we could get a few quick ones before we shut the school down. Drop shot worked well in grassy areas and had just a few follows on swim baits. Get out the lake is sooo nice right now.
    City: Citrus Heights

Tips: Fast, slow, senko, it all worked if you were fishing.

Report: Still able to darthead a 10 lb. limit, but now I am getting a few spook fish every trip. Cool thing is they will eat it all day long. 4.5" robos are the darthead and dropshot baits and i have been throwing a RI Vixen in the flitter shad color.
    City: Roseville

Tips: Move around until you find the bait. It has been concentrated on rock points near trees. No rock = no fish so keep moving until you find the right area.

    Water Temp: 68-70

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Started out at first light to a slow bite, first fish at 7:30 in Miners Ravine on a wacky senko, tried top water for one hour with no success.Went to the main body at 10:00 to fish the tree's with senkos was getting a few 2 pounders. Was ready to leave when I saw a submerged tree in about 12 feet of water that looked to good to pass up. First cast a whoppin 12 lb 13 oz largie, came out of the water jumping five times, what a kick. The fish bent my owner 3-0 hook pretty good.As soon as I lipped the fish the hook came out.
Only ended up with 5 fish, but for sure the best fishing day of the year.
    City: Granite Bay

Tips: Senkos in the tree's weightless

They must be in postspawn at this time. We did not have alot of time to go check out the rest of the lake. The rock garden area looked good but no time.

    Water Temp: 64 Degrees

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: The lake continues to be on fire for 5 weekends. Every trip produces a 3+ pound spot or smallie. Haven't landed any over 4.5. My main bait has been salt and pepper grubs on darter heads. I keep them on with crazy glue. Can't seem to get on a reaction bite but haven't needed to. I have taken fish in deep coves up to 35 feet, on trees
all over the north arm. I have fished new areas
all year and they all kick out quality fish. Folsom can be a stinker with patience you can dial it in. If you daring 4 lb Trileing XT will help but I did lose a huge smallie on it.
    City: Granite Bay

Tips: Chart and clear grubs. Splitshot and Dropshot 4 and 6 inch dark brown worms. Make long cast because of clear water and fish slow. Keep trying for the recation bite. Some guys have it going.

Report: Ok First to start off I was'nt fishing at Folsom lake, But this lake is about 5 miles from Browns Ravine plus this lake is not on the list of lakes to choose from.
Ok so there i was i walked to Cameron Park Lake tackle and all, all alone it was about 7 in the morning. I had just bought a frenzy shallow diver and it was perch color i cought about 12 bass in the 1-4 pound range on the frenzy. In mid afternoon I landed it big with a 10 lbs large mouth it felt great to get my first 10 pound fish.
    City: Rescue

Tips: Cameron Park Lake has a lot of lunker bass i know cause i see them in the shallows early in the morning grubs work well and things that imitate bait fish

Report: Not fearing the "Friday the 13th" curse, I ventured out to find some fish for my son and I for the Golden State tournament. Idling out of Granite I had no idea where I wanted to go, but made the decision to fish water I had rarely ever fished. First spot I stopped at I caught a couple of small fish on a darthead w/ a 4.5 in. Robo. Then I got popped real hard but the fish dropped it. Shoke it a couple a times and got popped again. Setting the hook hard made this fish mad as I expected it to be a small fish by the hard bite it gave me. After doing a little break dancing on the deck of my Ranger to keep up with this fish, a beautiful 6 lb. 13 oz. Folsom Spotted Bass came on board. Big, fat and full of eggs, I believe she was a bed fish on a bed in 12-14 ft. of water and she went back in after some pictures. Caught probably another 20 fish or so, but nothing of the quality of that beast.
    City: Roseville

Tips: I've been dartheading all year and saw no reason to change now. The Golden State tournament should be off the hook.

Report: This is a late report from wedesday, Jim Ryan and I went out at Granite Bay at 2:30pm and headed to the dam on the right side. Working from the dam to the right using a 4" green pumkin lizard split shot style catching 12-15 small bass untill we got to that fence. Most of the bass came in 15-20 ft. Moving in front of Beals Point in the trees using green senko at the base of the tree. Still finding small bass. Working some of the new flooded areas, still small fish. Leaving at 6:30pm a good afternoon on folsom with a good friend and a good lunch.
    City: rocklin

Tips: Thanks Jim , fish slow and green/browns with some purples are good.

Report: Took Greg Hultine from Nebraska out for a day on Folsom to show him around to our pond here. Ran down the south fork and started by dartheading a 4 lb. largey in trash pocket. Kept going on that bank and popped a fish every so often. Pulled up on an area i wanted to fish yesterday in the storm and couldn't and saw 5 or 6 fish just milling around. Greg tosses his stickbait up to one that appeared to be about a 4 lb. spot and she flashed at it. Caught a couple of smaller fish from this small area, but couldn't get this SIGHT fish to go. She obviously had a bed there as the more we kept harrassing her the more she stuck on this point. Moved out to the main body and caught some smaller fish in the trees, never saw a quality fish out there. The upcoming heat focasted for the next few days will really fire these fish up.
    City: Roseville

Tips: 4" finess worms and wacky Senkos were the ticket today.

Report: Like the Donner Party we didn't let a little storm keep us from crossing the Serrias. For $15 we almost bought the lake. Only saw 3 other bass boats and they didn't stay long. Water clear to 15' with rain, heavy at times and wind. Within the first hour we were culling. In 20' to 25' the bite was on. Mostly large spots with a couple of SM and one Large Mouth kicker. Sunken islands, and rock walls were the ticket. No top water or spinner bite. Rootbeer and Watermellon with red flake tubes did best. Ended day with darterhead 4" and 6" purple and browm worms. 30+ fish with 5 best 16#+.
    City: Minden, NV

Tips: Think small and slow. Don't let Moms and weather keep you home.

Report: The lake is full and clear, light winds with some white caps. My friend Dennie and my god son Ryan and I went into the North Fork to get out of the winds hiding in a big cove were we found no top water but some small spots and smallies draging a lazards and leach in 5-10 ft. Most of the time the fish were around rocks. Spinners got some and Senkos in the trees (green pumkin). The bit turned off about 10:30 with a front coming in for sundays storm.

Report: Had an unbelieveable day cathing somewhere around 40 BASS within 4 hours. Fished from 4pm till 8pm using only one lure, THE FLUKE. The fish were stacked anywhere around points, and trees. The average was about a 1 to 1 1/2 pounds with the biggest being 2.5 to 3 pounds on the "air" Boga Grip.
    City: Folsom

Tips: Use Jerk Baits and work them extremely fast. I was literally ripping them on top of the water, and the fish would just blow them up.

    Water Temp: 61-63

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Took the wife and 2 kids out for a day of fun, sun and fishing. Arrived at Brown's Revine about 8:00 AM and headed for a few of my favorite areas in the South Fork. After catching a few small darthead fish in a spawning pocket, I moved to an adjacent pocket and found just what I was looking for - a long, shallow secondary point with a shale rock bottom and a 30' creek channel on one side. The point topped out in 8' and gradually sloped into 17' on the end. My wife immediately got her first bite of the day - a beautiful 5lb. 14oz. spot! She then proceeded to boat 2 other spots weighing 4-09 and 4-06, followed by a 4-00 largemouth! The best fish I could muster was a 3-09 spot on a dropshot (which my 4 year-old son was kind enough to land for me) and several in the 2+ lb. class (most of which my 7 year-old daughter landed). In all, we caught over 25 keepers from that one spot, the best five of which went well over 20 lbs. A truly amazing day!
    City: Elk Grove

Tips: Fish are still in prespawn mode - EVERY female we landed was still brimming with eggs. Caught fish dropshotting, dartheading and splitshotting 4.5" and 6" Oxblood/Red flake Roboworms.

Report: Chris Carson and I meet two other bass fisherman from Basin Bass Masters for a fun day on the water. I brought along my rain gear not knowing what a great day it was going to be. The morning started out with dark clouds and light winds fromthe east and turned out a sunny day. We started out fishing in the new flooded area near the camp ground. Using carolina rig and split shot with a pumkin or green pumkin lizards in 10 to 20 ft. Green senkos in the base of the trees in flooded waters, finding 6 nice keepers. Most of our spots and smallies came on rocks, points and out front of trees and rock piles. We stayed in the north fork until 12:30 and then off to lunch.
    City: rocklin

Tips: fish slow, try blades and work around the trees for the bigger fish.

Report: Got a bit of a late start this morning and finding a place out of the wind was challenging. Fished North Fork. Water has come up six feet since last weekend. A bit slow, but in three hours I had six fish, all spots, three of them in the 2-3 lbs range. Saw a few big fish crusing 2-4 foot shallows near rocks.
    City: Loomis

    Tips: Submirged rockpiles.

    Water Temp: 58-60

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I guided a client to his first bass fishing trip ever Wed and fished with my fishin' bud Rick Tietz on Friday. We had a nice trip Wed, landing 15 bass, 13 of them spots. My client picked up split-shotting pretty quickly, though his hook-sets were "far and wide" early on. Luckly he got the hang of it since he needed to land his 2 1/4 lb spot and his 2 lb smallie. He caught 6 or 7 and now knows what he's been missing! We fished from Granite Bay to Beals Point and on the near side of the peninsula. We started about 10:30 am and quit at 6:30 pm. Though we missed the early bite (if there was one), we did well in the early afternoon. A big cloud settled over the entire lake in the later afternoon and seemed to shut down the bite. If we had been able to fish 'til dark, I think the bite would have been good. We did find a big school of bass in some willows, landed about 7, and then saw the whole school swim under the boat, which was in about 4 feet of water - maybe 30 fish. Some of the spots were up to 4 lbs. What a sight!!! A good trip overall. Friday, Rick and I started about 10 am from Granite Bay and fished several of the same areas and around dike 8. Fishing was spotty, some here, none there. We returned to the school of bass I had found Wed and they were still there. We each caught quality spots with Rick getting a 3 1/4 pounder. I had one near 3 crunch a Yamamoto Kreature bait. We were split-shotting, shaking 6 inch worms, drop-shotting Basstrix minnows near willows, ripped a few, and had a couple of hits on spinnerbaits when the flat calm lake became an ocean in 20 minutes at 40 MPH winds came out of nowhere. One of the most amazing weather events I have seen in my 40 years on the water. Two hours later, the lake went calm again. Amazing!! We wound up with 20 bass, only one largemouth. I tried topwater after the lake calmed before we left and had one big spot roll right over the top of the Chug Bug. I hope she works on her aim for next time!!
    City: Yuba City

Tips: We found bass both trips near rock and dropoffs. Most of the fish were in isolated or near-isolated willows. The key is looking for deep water nearby - as in creek channels. That is a spring key of solving the Folsom puzzle. The fairly shallow island tops didn't seem to have many bass on them. It was sad to see all the goose eggs that had been recently laid, under 4 feet of water, with the parents swiming over them, wondering what happened. The lake is coming up rapidly now.
