Report: Fished out of Browns Ravine Saturday afternoon from about 1:00 till dark. Graphed an occassional fish in 35' but most of them seemed to be way down around 65'on ledges. Drop shotted, spooned, and jigged to no avail. Not even a bump.
City: SacTips: Watch out for unmarked boulders and islands just below the surface. We almost did some serious damage to the boat in a couple of locations off the main penninsula.

Report: Fished WON Folsom team event out o Granite Bay and ound once again the dreaded cold ront had moved in. Blasted o and headed up the N. Fork to do a little dropshottin', but saw a good point unoccupied so we started there throwing blades and rips. 65 minutes later a 2.89# came on board on a War Eagle blade and ater 30 minutes not another bite. Moved around or the next 4 hrs. with only one more keeper. Finally happened upon three identical rock points that kicked out a total o 5 keepers dropshottin' robo plastics. Tried jigs, more blades, darter as well as splitshotin' with no bites to show. Came in to weigh-in with 8.77# and took $140 or the "closest-to-three pounds-without-going-over" award or my 2.89 Spot.
City: RosevilleTips: Winter pattern is getting established and now that the lake has turned over, look or another migration o good ish to move up shallow or the winter. Dinks and small keepers out 25-50 t., but bigger ish will be on reaction and jig bite or the rest o the winter. BRING ON THE SWIMBAITS!!!!!!!

Water Temp: 54.4 to 56.2
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Folsom Bass tourny today. My partner and I were on a really good bite on Friday, however just like most tourny days, the weather changed during the day around 10am and the bite really turned o or us. Started out the morning blasting o at Browns and headed to the N.ork. Found the ish in 20'to 40' water on steep drop o (rock garden) We landed two keepers right o the bat, and had two more in the boat around 10am then the bite really changed. We caught them on 1/2oz ootball heads painted brown with a combo purple/green yamamoto hula grubs. took two colors and torn then to make the combo. Fishing them sooo slow that it was driving me nuts!! Did catch the biggest one o ours on a silver color 1/2oz ootball head with a yamamoto smoke/black lake. Hit it on the all. We then moved to drop shoting in 40'to 60' range. Caught alot o small/short ish but did not catch that 5th on that we needed. Headed back to the ramp with no conidence and took 2nd place. I think only 1oz ahead 3rd and less then 1lb rom 1st. Wow!! tu day or everyone.Had a great day on the water though. Thanks to my partner or the great day.
City: RosevilleTips: NEVER GIVE UP!! NEVER STOP LEARNING!! AND ALWAYS FISH TO WIN!! and when all else ails ish slow this time o the year with patience. see above report or lure suggestions.

Water Temp: 54-55
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Folsom Bass Team tourny today...my partner and I spent the irst couple hours with ripbaits, spinnerbaits and crankbaits looking or better ish shallow. No takers. Switched to dropshot on a main lake hump (50') or the irst small keeper. At 11:00, still only had one ish despite dropshotting many bait balls with active eeding ish showing on the graph...really don't know why those ish didn't go.Ran to the N ork at 10:00, caught two ish in the rock gardens, one dink on a darterhead and one keeper on a 1-ton. Went back to the main body at 11:00 to ish a high conidence cove or small keeper ish and we managed 4 quick keepers on darter heads and a mini C-rig. Spent the rest o the day pounding shallows in the south ork looking or a kicker ish which never materialized. We were pretty disappointed until we ound out we had the only limit out o 16 or 17 boats. It was small ish so it only got us 3rd...by less than an ounce and we missed winning by less than a pound. Sure woulda been nice to get that kicker!!!
City: air oaksTips: We ound most our ish to be in a mid winter type bite. Very slow presentation, with plastics on the bottom.

Water Temp: 53-55
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Went out or a ew hours beore having to pick the kids up rom school and had a great time. Wind was really blowing when I arrived so I decided to throw a Osprey swimbait on a long point up the north ork. 10 minutes wothout a bite or ollow, I then moved to another area and put a 2.5# smallie in the boat on a dropshot rom 46 eet on a ????Roboworm. Staying in the same area I moved around to ind bait and located a 29 oot hump surrounded by the 45 eet and put another solid ish in the boat. Moved over to Eddie Murphy to chuck the swimbait some more and ound the place to be loaded with bait. Dropshotted another solid keeper then it was time to go. Fish not quite in the winter pattern yet as the lake hasn't turned yet, but with the wind, rain and colder temps, they lake should turn soon.
City: RosevilleTips: Dropshot, dropshot, dropshot. There are probably some reaction ish irst thing with all o this cloud cover, but you can dropshot 20-30 ish a day i you're in the right area.

Report: Went to Folsom with my best ishin' buddy Rick Tietz - the "spoonmeister"!! Anybody that can design his own line o spoons (Duh!) should be a pretty good spoon isherman and believe me - he is the best!!!! This time I actually kept up with him in numbers - almost!!! He got there at 10 am and I arrived at 11. I told him to ind them irst and he did - 4 at smallies and spots between 2 and 2 3/4 pounds. We ished together until around 6 pm and landed around 20 smallies and spots, and a 2 1/2 largemouth that I got on a Rodstrainer jig (rockpile)! The average size o the ish was amazing - spots up to three pounds and smallies up to 2 3/4. We only had 3 small ish. We ished only main body stucture - ollowing the bait. We spooned all o them except one or two on a dropshot. The spoons were ar more eective - we used morning dawn and shad colors with spoons up to 3 ounces. I can't imagine a more un aternoon o ishing!! And I got a DFG $10 tag on one o the ish to boot!
City: Yuba CityTips: This is the time o year that your meter is worth more than the weight o gold! I you understand structure and the movement o baitish, you can have some non-stop action in the all. In lakes with shad, the bass gorge themselves in the all - we had shad all over the boat as we landed each ish. You can be 20 or so eet away rom the bait balls and miss all the action. One thing about this kind o ishing - it is east or amine. Anglers will oten have great action during the day - in spurts! Sometimes you will run into a school o smaller bass eeding - just move around until you ind a school o larger bass. Believe me, Folsom is ull o them!!!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Got to the lake around 2:30 in an eort to take a check out o the boat ater some service and headed north into the 5 MPH zone and ound some submerged trees and brush and couldn't resist throwing a Senko ater my partner had already stuck a nice 3+ on a jig o a rocky point. They were hanging tight to the brush and managed 4 nice 2+ ish then saw them busting bait on the surace and couldn't get my topwater ast enough so lobbed the Senko, twitched it a ew times and had another 2+ with a big at belly. Boat and ish are all ine and got o the water around 6:30,
City: WheatlandTips: Steep rock walls with a brown/orange jig, Yamamoto #180 trailer. Senko was weighted with 1/16 bullet and used cinnamon/blue lake tight to brush.
