Report: I HOPE THIS IS MEANINGFUL ENOUGH..............MY TOURNAMENT PARTNER (STEVE ADAMS) AND I WENT OUT FOR A LITTLE FUN FISHING TODAY AT FOLSOM LAKE, ENDED UP WITH OUR BEST FIVE SPOTS GOING 21 PLUS POUNDS BY NOON. HERES THE TRICK, FIND COVES WITH DECENT CREEK FLOW, FISH SLOW. SPINNER BAITS AND WHITE TUBES. DID I MENTION SLOW YET? THEN, WHEN YOU DO THAT, FISH SLOWER. I HOPE THIS HELPS. THIS TIME OF YEAR OFFERS UP BIG SPOTS ON FOLSOM. GOOD LUCK.
Tips: PICS ARE UP IN PHOTO SECTION.

Report: Will someone please post a meaningful report??
Out last Sunday; small tourney going on. Stayed away from them, gave them lots of room. Saw lots of fish but nothing interested them. Tried dropshot, darthead, jig, slow-rolled spinnerbait, deadstick rip bait, bumping cranks on bottom....NOTHING. Heard the tourney guys didn't bring in much either, if anything. What's going on? Someone knows something!

He had 3 spots that were 5Lbs easy, a small mouth that had to be 3-4lbs and a dink..He said he caught them on a swimbait and Honestly I have no idea how he caught them, but he did have 5 nice fish!!

Water Temp: 49-50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of Brown's revine at 09:00 hours. Temperature at 36 degrees with a light breeze out of the SW. 3 rigs in the parking lot as I was launching and 2 others arrived as I was pulling away from dock. Water Temp at 49.7 degrees to start with and warmed to 50degrees by 2pm. I fished only the South as I am trying to disect this side. I haven't fished the South much over the last year and a half. I had 3 bites all on a green pumpkin jig. I threw tube, dropshot and dart head as well. I caught a 4lb 10oz and a 3lb 4oz from one area and I am sure there were more fish there. I also caught a 2lber. All spotted bass that looked like footballs. They are eating real good and that is great news. Bait was scattered today. I found some bait in 20 feet as well as 50 feet. All bites came in about 15 feet of water away from the bait. What a beautiful day to be on the water. I needed to get the boat out and test it since I just got it back from the shop. I was told that water reclaimation dept will not let lake water level drop below 404. We will see. Get out there and fish...Happy New Years everyone. There were about 6 other rigs in the parking lot when I left.
City: EDHTips: One other guy that I spoke with also caught a 4 plus pound spot as well. He had two bites all day. So bites are few and in between but good quality fish. I hope this information is helpful. I notice that not many other fishermen are willing to share their information. I don't know why.

Report: Nice day on the lake. On at 11am and off before 2pm and the wind. One 3 on a drop shot and lost two others before I could see them. All fish hit a good distance outside of marked bait. Used a white spoon for a bit and the salmon seemed to appreciate it.

Water Temp: 56
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: On the water around 8:45am, calm. Started out S.Fork - Saw fish mainly at 30-60+ feet. Also saw groups suspended from 8-25 and 20-50 ft. dropshotting and senkos...zip. Tried working points along the main channel of the fork ...zip. Tried a couple inlets but didn't see alot of fish... Tried peninsula and dike8...zip. Ran up N.Fork to some rocky points we've caught at before...zip. Oh well, no worry..I'm used to being zipped on Folsom Lake! Good just to be on the water before it rained! On the way in, saw a good guy (Tom) who helped us with tips before... always good to run into good people! Good luck and fishin' in your next tourney Tom!!
City: folsomTips: Just keep trying! No tips from me and probably after reading my report, no one would want mine!! yikes hahahaha ..but I think knowing your electronics and what it's telling you is probably key. I'm still learning how to use my fish finders. Chris Bajorek really helped me with some good tips. Console is a very low-end Lowrance x50 that came with my boat; bow is a Humminbird 565 that's decent, but some people say the only good fish finders have arches, not fish images. Mine has fish images...yikes again. But others say mine is just fine. I guess I'll wait for after Christmas sales and get a good one (like Chris B's)...with arches! hahahahahahaha ..maybe no more yikes!!!

Report: Found fish on rock piles off main lake points in 15-35ft of water. I hate drop shotting, so that is all I did today and I managed a better understanding of my electronics. Four fish hooked in two hour period all off the hook before I had a chance to see them.
City: Granite Bay HighlandsTips: Drop shot. soft bite. I also lost one on a gold spoon.

Water Temp: 72
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fish from 1-5pm, first 3 cast n got a hit on a Sammy. Didn't get another hit til an hr later. Water has drop since the last time I was here so wat was hot for me then is hot for me now. Junk fish til I figure a pattern. Saw a few cloud of bait ball on graph but no bass under or around it. Found bass hidding on submerge rock pile on main lake. Feel like I was in cold water. U think u fish slow....fish slower. Pull up 4-5 bass in some spots. U just gotta get the crowd to commit. Once that happens, u just gotta work the heck outta them. Once they stop give them some thing new. Finesse was the key n then crankbait to reignite them again
City: Elk groveTips: Still a lot of water craft out there. Can't wait til weather get a bit colder n they stop coming out. That should help us basser out a lot. Spotted n LMB share the same spot.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I think its safe to say that i am a LEGITIMENT seasoned vet when it comes to fishing Folsom and I dont need to flatter myself and lie to other fisherman to prove my man hood on catching bass on this lake! I have basically fished this lake the same exact way for the last 18 years with great success all year around. This last sunday i told myself i was not going to render to the same patters that i always have and i went out with the mentality to fish places that i have never given second thought to as i drove by to my primary spots during this time of year, which is normally the Northern most part of the lake! I picked up the deepest diving crank bait i had with 12 pound Floro on it and to my suprise i caught the best bass in 18 years fishing this lake! It was a 7.4 pound largy who looked every bit of ten years old and very healthy! I ended up doing really well this time of year on the drop shot odviously but with the kicker it was still only a 12 pound limit with a couple nice spots in the mix! 12 pounds this time of year out here is a great sack and VERY REALISTIC IN TERMS OF WEIGHT FOR 5 FISH! The area i fished was actually between peninsula Campgound and the Pipe along the North Eastern side of the lake up the north arm! There is no secret to the hidden humps and structure in this part but there is normally to much boat traffic to fish it Methodically! The Narrows and Anderson Island are ALWAYS my number one producing spot where the channel comes in contact with the two adjacent points. Always do well here dragging plastics and Top Water in the PM and early AM.
City: Citrus HeightsTips: I left my email for anyone who feels the need to ask me questions concerning my day and what i used to catch my limit! Im also not afraid to share my local knowledge (Which happens to be the point of this site) with anyone who loves to fish and wants to catch some healthy Folsom Bass. Try new water.. get out of the normal mind set and give new things a try! I havent thrown a Crankbait on this lake in 10 years and i caught the best bass of my life out here on one! Makes me wonder what ive missed all these years!???

Report: Man, what a trip with you know who, Mr. Folsom himself. I learned more in four hours than I could have learned in 20 years by myself.
City: loomisTips: Drop shotting the way to go in areas I never would have fished, no wonder he is the man.
