    Water Temp: 50

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished with a buddy on Sunday, got on the water at Jones Valley around 8:00 after talking to several flw pros. Headed up the Pit past dark canyon, fished several cuts, most fish seemed to be in 15-20 ft. on main lake or secondary points, found very few in the creek channels. Caught about 30-35 fish all 1-2lbs, texas rigged, and drop shotted Petes' Six Shooter sharks, and Robo Worms, and we also caught quite a few on tubes. Fished behind four different pros on several banks and boated lots of fish behind them, never saw three of the four boat a fish in two hours. Those clothes and boats and 300.00 rods/reels are nice to look at but the fish don't really know who or what is on the other end of the line. Couldn't figure out why they were all wearing Gortex jackets and pants when is was pushing 70 degrees outside, I guess they don't want any of us amatures to mistake them for one of us poor ignorant fishermen.
    City: Susanville

Tips: Here's a tip for those pros who think they are better than us poor amatures, you might learn something by trying to have some at your job once in a while, also your not going to give up any of your top secret fishing info by saying hello "first" to a couple of amatures out on the water that are just trying to have some fun. By the way, Good luck this week to all the pros that we talked to that did have a little class.

Report: Took my dad out Thursday, for some bassin, we fished the Pit all day only went as far as Dark Canyon. Caught Two good keepers up there, both over two lbs.. Fished mostly main lake points, better fish caught on clay banks using tubes or drop shot 6" robo's. Muddy banks were excellent for tubes and jigs. Caught the nicest of the day on the way back at the mouth of the pit on a cinnamon spider grub-2.5 lbs. Caught 25-30 keepers, best five would go 9.5 lbs.
    City: Susanville

Tips: Fish the clay with tubes or jigs. Look for mud lines when it gets breezy.

Report: Fished two days. First day up the Squaw and between the two of us we caught 51 total fish, some were keepers. Mostly on minnows, some on senko's, and a 3.5 lb large mouth on a spinnerbait. On friday fished the Sacramento arm and caught a total of 33 fish, again some keepers. Again minnows were the bait of choice, a few on senko's, a couple on spinnerbaits and a 4 lb large mouth on a minnow. Fish appear to stil be suspended, not close to the shore yet. Still lots of fun!!

Report: Had some chores this A.M. so I didn't get on the Lake till about 10:45, must not have been holding my mouth right or something...1 good fish and not another bite using rubber worms and buzz. They seemed to all be sitting on the bottom at about 30-40 ft. off the rock points. Maybe I needed live bait or crawler.

    Water Temp: 49-50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got on the lake with my Son-in-Law around 11:00AM headed for Squaw Creek, caught 40+ spots and smallies, on live minnows in 20 to 30 feet off steep rock walls and rockie points in 3 hours. The largest was only about a 1 1/2 lbs, but they are strong and lots of fun to catch on light tackle. If you set the hook early on them you hook them in the mouth, catch and release is still easy. I used to tournament fish, but now just like to catch them for fun. Lake Shasta is fantastic! Good luck to all!
    City: Redding

Tips: Stay on steep rock walls near deeper water and rock points on the main lake. They are fat and ready to strike, have fun.

Report: On the lake by 8:30 AM, with rain and snow heavy at times. Caught 25 fish between myself and my partner. Fish were 30-40 feet on average and seemed located on the creek channels and main body points. Fish were caught on Aarons Magic and Purple robo worms with a shot of crawdaddy scent. Drop Shot fished later with shad imitations for a few more fish. The wind picked up with 2-3 foot swells and headed back to the ramp.
    City: Red Bluff

Tips: Fish slow with long pauses on the retrieve. The storms front seems to have pushed the fish back down, but they ar still biting.

Report: Dropped in at Jones Valley about 9 a.m. on Monday.
Fishing plastic worms and minnows. Not much action tight to the inlets with creeks. Did well back in a few points off the main body of the Squaw arm. The kids had a blast reeling in one bass after another. Beautiful day on the water. I geuss we are in for another weather change. A little tease of Indian Summer.

Tips: Looking for some info on the trout bite? Thinking next weekend might try downriggers at 15 feet and pull castmasters and humdiggers through the main body to ski island. Any advice?

Bridge Bay was a zoo. Packer's parking lot was full as well. I figured most points would be pretty well fished. Boy was I wrong.
