Report: Fished the McCloud and lower Sac. arms this week, and ound good ishing in both. Lake is rising, up about 8 eet since Thursday, and now 25 eet rom the top. Some debris in both arms o the lake, but not too bad as ar as I went. Some o-color water past Hirtz Bay ater the last storm. Found ish in a variety o places and depths. Monday I ished light and shallow, 10-12 eet. Tuesday I was invited to ish with a riend or a lesson on deeper ish with heavier jigs. I appreciate the help in learning dierent presentations- some day the ish won't have a chance!! I caught ish on white/white blades, Lucky Crat rip baits, worms, Kalin grubs, and Townsend jigs with Yamamoto trailers. Didn't try any crankbaits. No secret baits- same colors many people are getting at Phil's. Interesting note, quite a ew o the ish yesterday were smallmouth-especially the early rip ish.

Report: put in at Jones Valley at 0610, ramp ull o debris and about 10 spots to park let on ramp, 37 degrees with og hovering at lake level, lake up to 27.5. Ran up squaw creek and that is the reason or this report, got to the monday lat area and had to get o plane, I have never seen the squaw creek arm this stacked up in debris. There is some big stu up there and it continued all the way to the top, had 11, mostly small, all on jigs with one tht went 2.5 and it was a smallmouth. lower pit also hazardous especially with a little wind blowing the water over the waterlogged big stu coming downstream. Be careul. Lake on the rise again as they have stopped dumping evry thing coming in.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I had several ideas I wanted to try in the last week, but none worked! First, with the warm weather, I went looking or some early largemouths in Jones Valley. They may be there, but none were on my line. Then I tried jig/pig on shallow points, and caught one close to 3#. But to be a pattern , one needs to repeat the eat. Nope. Well, how about suspended ish on pilings? Again, nope. Although my techniques on that may need improvement. To catch ish, I did what has been working or me- steep rock banks using dart-head plastics. Depth 10-30 eet, Mother's Finest #1, #2, (green weenie with more chartreuse), Rainbow #6 (blue ghost), baby brush hog watermelon. About 30 ish Monday or two anglers.

Stayed with that pattern or the rest o the day, 14 ish total or the two o us (all spots), nothing over 2 pounds. Keep the lines wet and the reports coming, still trying to learn Shasta (We use to be Delta Rats!)
City: CottonwoodTips: 082 with green and red lake, our ish came on a Shad Power Bait 3", shack on tight line.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished the Pit on Thursday, and ater a slow morning did ok in the aternoon. Boated a dozen or so up to 2# using dart head and brass/glass worms. The morning was breezy, and I don't know i I was ishing too ast or just couldn't eel the bites in the wind. Typical spotted bass pressure bite- like you 're not sure, until they let go and you say "darn"- missed one. Depth 15-40 eet, and using Mother's Finest #1. Steeper banks with chunk rock seemed better or me.

Report: Fished the Sacramento arm Monday. Tried rip baits while it was breezy, with no success. Tossed worms and jigs the rest o the day, with some success. I could't ind a consistent pattern or location, but ended up with about 15 ish to 2 pounds or two anglers. Have to admit my partner caught more than hal o them. Depth rom 15 to 40 eet, on eighth and quarter oz. darter heads and brass/glass, and hal oz. jigs. Best worm or us was Mother's Finest #1, a dark green and brown combination. Think I'll try the Pit on Thursday.
