Report: Fished the west side on shore. Threw lots o lures, grubs, spiners, no bites. A ish came right near and splashed, actually got wet. Called it a day ater that. No idea where or what they are doing...water level is up, but it's so muddy, hard to guess where they are at. I assume the deeper water in the center.

Report: Fished Sonoma in the Canoe with ather-in-law rom 3:00pm to 5:50pm. Temp was about 58F, slightly clowdy. Spring Lake has an alge bloom going on now, which seems strange or Novenber...then again, it's my irst season bass ishin'! Har, har! We started pitching twin tail grubs(Yamamoto) in greens w/ lake, classic split shottin'. I caught a nice 1 1/2 lb smallie BIg Mouth on a mushy bite. No ight in that ish, but looked great and healthy! Let's hope he plumps up durring winter! Not many bites on anything else: spooks, carolina segemented worms, rogs, and pig'n'jig. BIg ish broke surace on bugs twice. Good day on Spring Lake in my book...at least we didn't break another rod! Haha! Got teh eeling there was a monster nearby, can't explain it, just a eeling...
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Go monster hunting! I got the eeling one's ready and hungry or a baby bass bait ot sunish.

One nibble on the shad. Ended up throwing the spook and my new tournament rom just or the u** o it. Lots o bass boats and tubers out there...must mean Sonoma sucks worse than usual. Chatted with a ellow isherman who said to throw live mice! WTF! I've never heard o this...strange. Anyhow, my new reel shit out, and lost my leatherman...but ound it agian. I think I'm getting rusterated...almost threw the rod in the damn lake! HAHA! Oh well, will be praying or better luck next time.

Report: Oh man! So I head out on Spring lake at 5:30pm with the ather-in-law in the canoe to try out my new GL2 rod. As soon as we push the canoe in the in-laws rod catches a stump...and crack! Oh man it sucked. So we head out, and I thow some senko's, but tried some grubs splitshot. Lots o nice bites, and one little 1 1/2 lb bass. Not bad or 1 1/2 hours. Dad thru with the broken stick, and man I can't tell you how unny and pathetic we looked. We better get some good luck soon.
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Plastic grubs, worms, split shot or carolina. Try a dark green w/ lake or Smoke.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished rom 11:30am to about 4pm. Caught two ish on the small optimum swim baits(shad color). Both ish about 11/2or 2lbs. Very slow ishing. As usual I tried everything. Buzzbait, spook, senko,hot-lip,jig,carolina rig. Caught both ish in about 8or9eet o a point going north rom the launch on the let side. Marked a lot o ish suspended. Even threw rip bait and blade. Where's Paul Duclos when you need him? Simply were not biting.
    City: Petaluma

Tips: I hear 46degree water is what the big ones like in this lake. That's gonna take a while. Your guess is as good as mine. Keep throwing big baits. You'll never know when you're going to get yanked in. Remember you're not ishing or guppies.

    Water Temp: warm

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out ant tried some new techniques or practice. No ish, but interesting bites. Thru spilt-shot plastic and carolina dads. Carolina dads produced 3-5 "mushy" type bites, couldn't set tho...but it's a new setup or me running deep. Doodled a bit, and this is what got the mushie bites. One GREAT violent take, but somehow got o the hook. Probably low drag?? Anyhow, or 1 hour on the lake, 5-6 strikes was good in my book. Next time I'll stay longer, and lower my line weight.
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Carilina rigs with rubber lures. Try skin hooking...I will next time.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I've lurked here or quite some time, enjoying the reports on Spring Lake and Clear Lake. I thought it might be time to contribute. I've only really started to bass ish with any seriousness over the past 6 months. However, as my wie says, "I'm hooked and a goner".I took the tube out on Spring lake at 7am yesterday. God was it beautiul...og sitting on the water..completely still. No one around.I ished the northwest side o this lake or a couple o hours lipping into the tall tull-like weeds that ollow much o the shore. Only caught one ish. Don't know how much it wieghed but I measured it at a tad under 19 inches. Great ight too! I love watching these ish rush to the surace then turn and dive in a split second. This one gave a nice show too jump out o the water. Anyway, caught it on a black ive inch senko with red lecks. Only one other opportunity to set the hook, caught him, but he threw the worm in moments.Best luck I've had at Spring lake is lipping worms o the tule, but not into the masses o weeds that are out there. I look or masses o the weeds that seem to plant themselves in masses about ive eet o the edge o the tules and I lip into the clear area between the weeds and tules.Something else interesting too. I can't tell you how much luck I have casting directly to the spot where a ish suraces near me. I know i I get my worm there within 30 seconds o his jump, I have a real good chance o hooking him. Oddly enough, I cant say I have nearly the same luck doing this at Clear lake. One more thing. Anyone think there's an extraordinary amount o ishing pressure at Spring lake. I get the sense the ish are pretty wise out there. Its why I almost never go larger than a ive inch senko and oten smaller!

Tips: medium to small worms rigged Texas. Tubes with red-plastic rind ollowing.
