Report: Well got on the water today at about 4:30 today to do a little ishing just to get out and wear the dust o o the old rods. havnt been able to ish or about a week at spring rom the loat tube because o school. but anyways as i was walking down i looked at the mat rom the hill and saw that the water level had gone up a lot with the rain. then i realized that i hadnt come prepared. all i really planned to do was ish the mat and do some cranking, but i should have been ishing deep in the tules and skipping bushes and trees. so i got to the mat and on about my 10th cast had one suck it o and take it set the hook and missed. i kept going around the mat and when i made a ull rotation i had a nice one blow up on it and totally miss it, about 3 casts later he nailed it again, hole body coming out, but like the last hit, he didnt even touch it. it was a nice ish though based on its side, probably around 6-7 lbs. well ater leaving that ish i crossed to the north island and try the new weeds there with the rat and got jack. saw one swirl inront o a mat, not at my bait though. i tied on a buzzbait and ished the cut by the middle island, right at the mouth hooked into a really nice ish, this ish made a 10 t run sideways straight into the tules, i went in right ater it reaching about 2 eet down, but only to eel my buzzbait hooked into the tule. that ish had to be 8+ i have never had a ish pull like that. on the other side o the middle island had another nice ish ollow it out o a tree and swirl it, another good ish too. worked my way down the shore with the buzzbait and had only one more hit, but this one was a small ish and totally missed it. worked my way back in with the buzzbait without a hit. igures that the only day i dont bring a senko or other plastics i miss out on perect conditions or using them. i also tried cranking the deep weeds or a little bit with no success. heard a couple ish blow up deep in the tules, and i mean deep. will be out there again skippin the trees, and i inally ound a perect swimbait spot, about 5 or 6 boulders together in about 4 eet o water. hopeully there will be a hog there next time waiting or one o the last trout on spring lake to swim by on top.
    City: windsor

Tips: with the rain raising water levels ish deep in tules and shallow cover. oh yea and always bring a ollowup bait i your ishing a buzzbait.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got on the water with the loat tube at about 12. Went straight to the lonely mat in the northern end and ater going halway around got my irst blow up, and it was a big one. That ish was there the last 2 days in the same spot hitting and totally missing what was thrown by her. Well i igured i try and see i she would hit again, 4 casts later i got her to suck it o the top and was able to put a hook in her and get her in. it was an 11.14 lb 27 by 19 inch bass, i only it was at it could have been a lot bigger, i posted the pic on the photo page. ater that got a 4 lber on the patch o mat that will always hold a ish, again this one hit and missed and then nailed it the next cast on the edge o the mat. not that much more action on the mats so moved up against the tules and had one boil on a senko, so i tossed the rat to the same spot and it just sucked it o the top and i hooked up and landed it, only about a 1.5 lber, something was going on with the ollowing hits today, lucky or me. Nothing more in the green slop so i moved down the lake ishing the western shore and caught one about a pound skipping a senko under trees on the middle island. headed back to the mat and right away had one nail it but broke it o when i set the hook. put on a new rat, and moved along the mat and had another nice blowup and set the hook hard but shortly ater got my rat back and had the hook buried into the plastic, i hate using the brand new ones, the plastic just is to thick. called it a day ater that and headed in, all in all a pretty good day.

Tips: rat and rog bite is good, also i heard the deep scattered weeds were producing with spinnerbaits and rip baits.

    Water Temp: warm

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Buddy and I got on the water a little ater 6am. Both o us threw poppers. He caught 10 ish up to 4lbs. He also lost one about 6lbs and had a couple huge blow-ups. A little quick on the strike. I got 16 ish with one being a 5.5lber, one 4lber, a couple in the 3.5lb range, and the rest 2lbs and under. All these ish were caught on the north end between 6am-9am. We had cloud cover and it even rained on us. A little ater 9am the sun came out and the bite died. I threw a rog rom 9 until 11am with two blow-ups. One ish was about 3lbs(missed the bait on the mat). The other ish was 5.5lbs and in open water next to the tules. Tried lippin between 11-12 with nada. Let at noon.
    City: Petaluma

Tips: The weed mats in the middle o the lake were holding the ish. Not to much action near the tules on the shore. The bite was probably helped by the ront we had move through and the cloud cover. Love that topwater Rico bite. This time they wanted the bait to sit or a while(5-10seconds). Good luck.

Report: Walked the east shore today and ished about a dozen small spots. Saw a ew male nest guarders and lots o ry. Also got to see a 3lb. male and a 7-8lb. emale trying to make some new bass. She was going sideways and rubbing and was way darker and easier to see than the male. Ater tossing a white tube near them twice I inally decided they were way to busy so I stopped tossing and enjoyed the show. I thought it was amazing that this was all taking place in broad daylight, a oot rom shore in 3' o water in a very high traic area. Darned exhibitionist bass!!

    Water Temp: 50ish

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Finally made the coast to coast trip rom massachusetts to caliornia. once in santa rosa i decided just to go down to spring lake just to get a look at it and see how i would be ishing the next days. it was raining out but i decided to take a ew casts rom shore. irst cast threw a spinnerbait, because it was starting to get dark out i didn't see all the weed strands so when i was reeling in i kept getting caught up, started burning the spinnerbait in just to get it out o the weeds, the blades were out o the water and the skirt was in. right as i was pulling the spinnerbait out it got smashed. the ish went straight into the tules which were 3 eet away and got caught up, i knew it was a good ish so i just walked in the water and ollowed my line down into the tules. i didnt expect the ground to be so muddy so as i was trying to move my eet around, i elt the ish again, i guess it swam out, anyways ought the ish through the weeds on 8 lb test, and landed my biggest ish, 26 inches in length, 20 inch girth. It was deinately ull o eggs. i wanted to get a picture but i couldnt ind anyone around in the rain. ater catching that ish and having to leave soon ater i elt like i was going to be in or a great day the next day. i got the tube down to the lake, there was little wind, hot out, and no rain. i tried everything, and couldnt get a bite. i lipped everything on the lake with senkos, lizards, reapers, paddletails, grubs, u name it, and i tried spinnerbaiting the weeds, cranking the weedline. i guess spring lake is really a hit or miss lake. well im back in massacusetts now and i keep wishing i was at spring lake, its just something about it that keeps u thinking. Good luck everyone.

Report: On the water alittle beore noon. Tubed to the submerged tree I ound on Sunday. Pitched the 1/4 oz. ootball head jig, dressed with the Yamamoto Hula Grub #221 to the tree. My line twicthed and moved to the right. Set the hook and was in or a good ight. The ish went into the tree and it took a bit o a struggle (being in a tube) to get it out. The result was a nice 7.42 bass. Weighed, took a picture and released the ish. Fished other areas, catching 3 other ish about 2 lbs.. Two on the jig and one on a Pointer #128 in a shad pattern. Returned to the submerged tree and caught a 2.5. The ish on the lake are still hanging o shore or the most part.

Moved out rom shore and tried drop shoting, with no sucess. Decided to ish a Yamamoto Hula Grub in the #221 color on a 1/4 oz. ootball jig head. Drited, an castint the jig and working it very slow. Drited over a submerged tree. Brought the jig up over a limb and began to let it all. It never hit bottom. Did not eel a tick, only knew the jig had not hit bottom. Lited up and elt weight, then my line moved o to the side. Set the hook and ought a nice 4+ up to the tube. The weather ront moved in and there were no more bites.
