Report: It was good day o ishing...it was the catching that wasn't good. We only caught 4 ish; one keeper and one that was almost as big as the spinner bait it was caught on. Fished rom down town out to...Mainly blades, jigs and plastics. Like I said the ishing was great but the catching let alot to be desired.

Came back in or some shuteye. Over slept and missed the irst light, so just took my time getting up. Went back to the roggin' Got a 5 1/2 and a 3 1/2 back to back. Went to next spot and got another 3 lber. Then it REALLY slowed down. Tried docks, nothing. Had boat problems sunday about 5:00, so trailered up and heading home early, but not a bad trip.

Report: I was able to guide at Clear Lake in my brand new Ranger 520 yesterday. Though I am still breaking it in, this boat is everything everone has said it is!! My clients loved it too, 'cause it was catchin' bass!! We launched at the Red Bud zoo site at 4:30 in the aternoon. Somehow, we were able to launch in the crowd, and headed over to Indian Island to attempt to hide. I had the adult throwing a Senko, and his 14 year old riend o the amily and I were throwing Dead Ringers. My irst Clear Lake bass in my previous boat was an 11-2, but considering it was Labor Day weekend, I was happy with a 4-9, just a ew minutes ater we arrived. We were pitching to the shady pockets o weed clumps and scattered wood. We then moved to the wall across rom the ramp where we got several bites. The man landed a 2 1/2 on a #214 Senko and a smaller one. The boy missed one or two. I set up on a 3 1/2 and snapped my rod. Guess I don't know my own power, HAR!! We ished Wheeler Point with no success, and inished last light in Konocti Bay, where the adult was all smiles as he landed a 4 pounder and a small one on my summer avorite Senko - #240. Ater dark, we worked our way down the east shore o the south end. catching 9 more, mostly in shallow weeds i you can believe that!! I caught my irst ever night Senko bass - 3 o them up to 5-2 on the 6" #135. That color is a killer in the bright moonlit nights. They hit the Senko harder than a worm. The black/chartreuse 10" Power Worm and the junebug Dead Ringer were the best producers overall. The young man really lost a big bass in a heavy weed mat - that was a shame!!! My heart breaks when a young person loses a big bass. The wind protected areas with weeds were the main areas we ound willing bass. We wound up with 15 in the boat, 8 o them over 4 pounds. As I mentioned, I had one a little over 5, and the gentleman had one just under 5 - I think he caught 7 or 8 total. Our 5 best weighed about 24 1/4 lbs. This was a un trip or me, besides the great company and the new boat, because I was guiding areas that I don't oten ish, and was not targeting the usual rocky areas I like. I really was surprised how shallow the bass were, in spite o the warm water temp. I the deep bass were biting too, I wouldn't have known, since we really didn't try or them much. I did get one 4 1/2 on a jig.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Senkos were very eective in thick weedy areas, day and night. I was told that there was a good buzz bait bite at the south end during the day on Sat, but it wasn't happening on Sunday aternoon. With watercrat all over the place, conditions change quickly. I you don't want to ish a Senko at night, try a #135 Yamamoto 5 or 6 inch single tail grub in the moonlight - believe me, they work!!!

Report: Labor Day ishing. It wasn't a day o or working on patience. I waited in line to take the boat at 2:00pm at Browns or 20 minutes. Seems the wakeboard enthusiasts slept o thier hangovers just about that time. 10 ish including the 3lb largemouth I was looking or last week in the club tourney. My 4 year old son didn't hook up- I provided a smaller but identical bait he could cast with his spinning gear, but he orgets to lip the bail over about 50%. Instead, he was happy to measure each o my ish on the go board and cull our way to about 10 lbs. My wie asked what happened to the skin on his thumb. I'm waiting until he can vote and then I plan to doctor his BASS card and enter him in the casting kids contest. Don't mind the gotee, he's just mature or his age.

Report: Fished Amador Friday night rom 10pm to 7am. Man was it tough. Hit all my honey holes at all the right times but came up empty. I used blades, big worms, brush hogs, 6" worms, dead ringers, and lizards. Only got bit 5 times. I put 2 in the boat. Fished hal the night in 3 to 15 eet o water and never got bit. So moved out to 20 to 30 and inally got some bites. I should have cranked a little but I did not want to mess with the moss. Fish started eeding on top when the sun came up but they were mostly dinks. Didn't bother even tying on a popper. The lake has dropped about 10 eet since last month. Had an excellent breakast at the lodge.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: As usual, my buddie and I started out at irst light and launched out o Paradise. We have a New Bass Tourney in 2 weeks are were hoping to stay on the consistent bite we have been on. We igure the tide will be pretty similiar in 2 weeks, so we went to the places we will more than likely be ishing. We headed toward the Duck Pond Area and started throwing buzzbaits and big chuggers. The action was good on the chugger, but the buzzbait didn't get any action. I think that the water is a little dirty right now and it is taking the ish a little longer to ind the bait. The biggest ish on the chugger went 3#'s and 1 other that blew up was deinitely much larger than that. When the topwater slowed, we went right to dark plastics, as they have really been working or us. My buddy and I both stuck 4 pounders about 5 minutes apart and we decided to go, as not to wear the area out or the tourney. We then headed around the corner about a hal mile and tried an area that had been good or Senkos in the spring, but good only manage dinks. Around 10am we ran back up around the Paradise area and caught some more decent ish up to 2 1/2 pounds on plastics. We called it a day at around 1pm having landed 20 ish or so up to 4 pounds. We deinitely could o done better, but let an areas soon as we knew there were quality ish in the area.
      City: roseville, ca

Tips: For the third trip in a row plastics deinitely out perormed reaction baits. Depth has not been a huge actor, but making multiple casts seems to be the trick. We sometimes would cast the bait out and shake in one place or up to 2 minutes.

Report: Just a quick report about a trip to Amador last Thurs late aternoon till about 1 am. Fishing was slow overall, but the ellow I was with caught a nice 7 pounder on a black/chartreuse worm just ater dark in the main body. The ish was only about 15 eet deep. He also caught a 5 1/2 on a blade about midnight in 25 eet o water. He got a small bass on a worm. I cranked one about 1 3/4 lbs beore dark, and caught another small one one a worm. The night bite is kind o slow overall.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Blades are working some - he lost a nice 3 1/2 beore dark. The worm bite seems to be best at night, though jigs are working o and on.

Report: I ished the orebay by the 152 overpass and the power poles. There was a very agressive bite. Caught several stripers up to 15". Still too early or the big ish rom what I am told. Had best luck with silver rattle traps, crank baits with rattles, and spinner baits.

Tips: They were releasing water rom the big lake today. However the rest o the season they should be pumping water up rom the canal. So the best spots should be by the rock line pumps and at checkpoint 13. This is what I was told by the local bait shop. Still new to the lake mysel.

Wht & chart. spinner bait along tulle edges & tulle pockets. Wht & chrt. buzz bait parallel to rip rap banks & inside edge o weed beds along w/Delta Craw Speed Trap, 1/8 oz.. As low tide bottomed out bite really slowed & we then had to work Watermelon Senkos & motoroil 5" curly tail worms thru the weed beds along the outside edge. Biggest, 3.5 lbs., came on crank bait but the numbers came on the spinner bait. Buzz bait was the dinks bait o choice today. Pleasure boaters out in orce ater 10 am & we inally gave up & loaded up at 12:30.

I was ishing with a riend, Cyrus, and he was using a rat-l-trap. I was ishing near the picnic area towards the narrow channel. I didn't land a ish until I rigged a 4" plastic worm, and it was a dink (maybe hal a pound).Cyrus also landed a dink, but he hiked pretty ar, and was ishing near the drainage pipe. Cyrus said he saw some hogs jumping out o the water 5+ pounders at least, but couldn't land any o them.Better luck next time I suppose..

Report: Guess I hit the wrong key or something so here goes again, the regular ramp at jones valley is out o the water, the auxiliary asphalt ramp is in but it requires a 1.2 mile two track dusty ride to get to it, take two towels as u will need to soak on when ur pulling out to wipe all the brown dust o when u get back to the concrete ramp. watch the road ahead on the way out as there are only a couple o wideout spots or olks to pull over to make way or oncoming traic, in a t 0530 and over to mariners point, lake down past 88 t air temp 59 degrees, had two largemouth right o on a trout lavored suspending jerk bait, one was 2.5 the other was a 2.2 then 6 spots on the irst twenty casts, switchhed to a jitterbug or a dozen blowups but only 2 on and dinks at that, the surace stu stopped at around 7 am, ran upstream near blue canyon or a ew taps on jigs but no hookups, the holiday crowd is arriving and saw skiers as early as 715 am and a lot o houseboats on the move rom Silverthorn and Jones Valley, gonna get a bit hectic this weekend but its just about over with. got out at 76 degrees at 930 am and very little taraic at the newer ramp, guess the dusty drive in turned some around as I saw three ski rigs going back out o the area and they got on the highway and went north up I-5
