    • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went out with Dana today and fished the west fork from 6:30am to 11am. Fish were deep, or maybe might say normal this time of year. Most fish caught 25-35 feet deep, fished roboworms, earthtones. Dana got 7 spots, me 8 spots. Most 13-14" or so, largest 14" Giving up on the west fork, bite was slow and hard to locate fish!! Next trip to north fork, has to be better then the west fork.

      Water Temp: 71.6

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got on the water about 8:00a. We fished around Mildred Island during the rest of the incoming tide and the outgoing tide. Caught about 20-25 bass, only 10 were keeper size. Biggest bass was around 2.5-3.0 pounds. Caught most of the fish on chatterbaits fished over the top of weeds. Also caught fish on a frog, buzz bait, and crank bait.

Tips: We tied our lures directly to 65 lb braid. Caught the biggest bass on a white/chartreuse chatterbait that dove to the bottom of the weeds. The braid cut the weeds as I pulled the bass out. Doubt I would have boated the bass if I was not using braid.

    • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went shore fishing at Lake Oroville yesterday at Lime Saddle. Thought I'd fish late from 5:30pm till dusk, about 8:30pm. Thought I could get away with fishing the docks since no one was around to kick me off, wrong!! About 7:45 the owner showed up, kicking me off, he had a cop wanna be attitude! Anyway, got 7 spotted bass, most 13-14" or so, forgot my ruler this trip. Calm water, but sun glare was a killer. Better fishing in the early mornings. Seems as if dock fishing is going to be hard not to get kicked off!!!

Caught all with 5" baby bass Senkos, wacky, no weight. Had to cast way forward to give it time to drop because the wind was whipping me right along. Tried nail weights a few times, but no luck.

    • Water Temp: 82 thru 69

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: The weather this past weekend was very strange. On Saturday the temperature was as high as 113 degrees and the water temperature was 82 degrees. By Sunday it had cooled down a great deal and the water temperature had dropped to 69 degrees. The fishing was excellent with top water bites in the early morning and crank baits on the points from the dam to the main lake. I did very well with a clear with black flakes senko wacky style off points in about 15 to 20 feet. Last weekend Chris and his son Collin with their catch (see photo). My daughter-in-law Sarah holding a four pound bass she had caught (see photo). Hoping this coming weekend will be as productive. 'til next week.............................................................good fishing!!!

      Water Temp: 77-79

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: as soon as we launched out of markley, we saw bait busting on the surface in open water. Had a really good tw bite for about 45 minutes. more tw action in the narrows off points, and a few decent spots on swimjigs. buddy landed two quality smallies up north on jigs. had a great day. the heat was bad, but dipping my hat into the water every 5 minutes really helped alot.
      City: elk grove

Tips: find the bait and you'll find the spotties

    • Water Temp: 70ish

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out in Discovery Bay for a few hours this morning. Got on the water about 5:15 and started catching fish. Caught two on cranks by 6ish, nothing big 3ish at best, then switched over to buzzbait and missed a few on that. Finished off the morning fishing senkos around and under docks and caught several more before it started getting hot. Off the water by 9:30 with my best 5 going maybe 12. Lots of fish just nothing big.

    • Water Temp: 72-76

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched B&W; many boats at 5am; started crankin' tules/weedlines and picked up several barely keepers and 1 lbers. Moved up toward island outside of Sycamore, water was stained/muddy, only managed a couple hits on senkos and curl tailed worms. Moved up Sycamore to find some clear water; fished tules with lipless cranks and senkos for 5 more keepers, best 2.5lbs. Many many dinks kept the action going even if they didn't keep. 2 blowups on frog and buzzbait but no hookup.
      City: folsom

Tips: We worked the tules out over weedlines with cranks and either got bit between tules and inside weedline or after it passed over and on the outside. worked same with senkos and small finesse curltail worms and would get bit draggin' over the weedline. Not much to offer but that's what worked for us. Asked another basser and his only answer was spinnerbaits. Not sure where or how but glad it worked for him. At least he shared it. A couple others didn't/wouldn't.

      Water Temp: Wasn't paying a

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched the new (to me) boat out of River's End Marina at 6:45. Fished the slough that runs north/south along Clifton Court Forebay. Nothing on top water or wake baits. Got a couple keepers on chartreuse/black back KVD 1.5 (BPS rattling model). And "keeper" is being pretty generous. Dink here and there. Missed one punching but then got another. Four blowups on the frog at low tide but no hookups. Hotter than the surface of the sun today but somehow managed to avoid wake boarders/water skiers/jet skiers most of the day.
      City: San Mateo

Tips: Man when it's a hundred and five out it's probably better just to go jump in the pool. I think I got heat stroke. Other than that: Come on WB board members! Start posting your reports!

    • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Shore fished at Lime Saddle from 6am to 8:30am. Fair bite this am. Got 13 spots, one was a Jumbo toad, at least to me, right at 17" Also got a small large mouth at 14 1/2". Lots of fish in the water, most not in the mood to bite!! Caught all on Roboworms, Texas style.

    • Water Temp: 72-76

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Well, I think summer has hit Pardee! I took a good fisherman to the lake Monday - starting at 5:45 am - hoping for a nice topwater bite. Unfortunately, the delta breeze kicked in about then and shut off any good topwater bite. All day we had action on small largemouth - none over 11 inches. Saw lots of inactive fish suspended on the meter. After he left, I rested in my truck and was able to take a brief nap. I went out again about 6:30 pm - throwing all topwater in shadows I could find. I started catching all undersize and 2 legal smallies. About sunset I had another small blowup - this time on a Devil's Horse! I suddenly realized this was no dink and finally landed a beast of a 3 1/2 lb largemouth. A few minutes later I threw a Chug Bug to a feeding fish and nailed a near 3 lb smallie. A typical Pardee smallie - about as tall as she was long. A mini-pig!!! That action made the trip home a little more pleasant - a 20 1/2 hr day-night for me!

Tips: I talked to Fred at the marina and he said that Pardee will rise another foot and should stay that way for most of the summer. It is almost full now. Bass should be found at a variety of depths this summer - some deep and some semi-deep in weed patches.

    • Water Temp: NA

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Bite is still pretty good out there. We caught most of our fish flipping a red craw. Deep tules next to rip rap on the outgoing tide. We didn't have to much top water action only a couple small ones and a couple blow ups. Best 5 went 16 lbs with a 5 lb kicker.

Tips: Bite was best on a high outgoing tide for us.

    • Water Temp: 66-69

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: A father-son team and I started yesterday about 6:45 am and had 3 in the boat at the first stop. I told the dad that catching one on the first cast was a jinx - and it sort of worked out that way - for all of us! A few big fish lost - one at the net (probably 6 or 7 lbs) and 2 others broken off! I hooked giant catfish on a Loomis NRX light rod - talk about over-matched! - and it finally broke off too after 5 minutes. Most of our action happened on outside dock pilings - nothing shallow. The son landed the biggest fish at 4 lbs - on a rock ledge. The north wind made us work hard for our fish. It was weird in the south end - blew hard early, then laid down for about 2 hrs, blew again and then settled down to a breeze.

Tips: We used a variety of plastic baits and also landed 2 early bass on jigs. My clients brought their own baits and used some of mine. They liked to drop-shot and caught some with that technique. It worked good on outside docks. Small beaver-type baits were good and enticed two of the bass that broke off. Bass didn't seem interested in Senkos yesterday.

      Water Temp: n/a

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Tough for me. One bite only way back in the reeds but was a 6# bass. Caught it on a soft plastic early and as tucked away as I have ever caught one in this lake. Saw a bunch of beautiful Ranger boats on the lake, would be interesting to hear what worked or didn't work for them.
      City: dublin

Tips: Don't fish on the weekend. A lot of the planted Christmas trees and other cover near shore were off limits due to all of the people fishing from shore.

      Water Temp: 71

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Had a great time Saturday fishing from 6am to 3pm with a friend. Tried main body, middle fork and south fork. Action was by far the best in the middle. Between the two of us we boated nearly 60; nothing big, biggest was a 2-1 largemouth. I'm sure we would have caught more if we'd stayed in the middle fork. Most of mine came on jigs and dart heads in brown colors (red flake seemed to help), and my friend got a bunch on a dart headed white grub.
      City: Foresthill

Tips: Presentation was fairly slow, but the fish were aggressive and there were a lot of bites (and bitten-off worms). Have fun out there!

      Water Temp: unknown

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Took my kayak out on Lake Amador for the first time. Launched at 6am. Winds were calm, skies were fairly high. First pattern was to cast to the bank on sunlit main lake points on the north-west side of the lake. Second cast of the day with a Zara Spook One Knocker produced a healthy 6 lb LM. Had a few smaller LMs bite as well before the chop killed the topwater bite for me. Slowed down with a jig and shakeyhead further off the same main lake points and got quite a few more in the 1# to 3# range. Also tried the shakeyhead, a swin jig, and spinnerbait along the submerged weedlines in the backs of coves. Found that if I dragged the shakeyhead over the top of the weed line--creating a disturbance--from the inside out, and let it fall on the outside edge, the bass would inhale it as it fell. Lots of fish in there, following the spawning baitfish I would assume. As the day warmed uncomfortably and winds picked up, the bite died completely for me. Best 5 went for about 13 to 14 lbs.
      City: Los Gatos

Tips: Get out early and hit sun-drenched points with topwater walkers, buzzbaits, and poppers. All of my topwater bites came almost as soon as the lure hit the water, so be ready and let them take it before swinging. As the sun rises, and the winds pick up, back off of productive points into deeper water and slow down. The outside edges of coves held fish as they seemed to be waiting for the baitfish to move out into the main lake before ambushing them. A lot of baitfish inside the coves, pockets, and feeder creeks.
