Report: Four o us ished rom 6:00am till just ater 8:00pm. I hooked one ish @ 6:30am but lost it. Seemed airly large but never saw it. We were ishing near the boat ramp by the dam. Hooked mine on an inlated crawler. We were also using power bait, salmon eggs and marshmellows. Ater 4 hours with one ish we went to eat at the Kopper Kettle in Chester, great ood-highlite o the trip, and then rented a boat trolled till around 6 with no bites but didn't have downriggers or leadcore so...then still ished mouth o Hamilton Branch till we turned in the boat. Never saw a single ish caught all day. I have been ishing over orty years and almost every Fri. or the last ive. This was the worst ishing trip I've had in years catch wise. Do not believe the reports o this being a premiere ishing destination. And i you check you'll notice the reports rom the Sports Nut are always the same. This is a beautiul area but the ishing sucks.
City: SunnyvaleTips: Plan on hiring a guide i you do go to Almanor aparently some garaunty a ish or your money back.

Report: Had a un trip Friday aternoon til about midnight. Started ishing Senkos rom Konocti Resort north. The rods my clients brought were too light or what we were doing - as a result they lost several - one big one. Finally, one guy hooks a nice one which immediately takes him in the weeds. He tells his son to dive in and get - his son says "no way". So dad tells me to hold the rod and he jumps in (he had his swim suit on), ollows the line down, and comes up with 5 lbs o bass and 10 lbs o weed!! Guiding can be un, sometimes!!! We did manage to land a ew more. I got a nice 5 1/4 on a super spook at sunset. Night ishing was nearly blown out - the wind just got worse. We got a 3 pounder and lost 2 or 3 beore we quit.
City: Yuba CityTips: Senko bite was slow on previous trip, but was much better Fri aternoon. Look or shady pockets next to weed patches when sun is low - morning and late aternoon. Color didn't seem to matter - we used several colors - light and dark.

Report: Guide Trip: Excellent number of bass during the high tide, a father and son landed 24 bass including 3 in the 3lb range and one that went 9.21lbs."see my web site for picture" All of these fish were in the south Delta from Mildred down. The father and son were using a 6" witches tee shark (like a reaper only narrower). We were fishing rocks and weeds in shallow water 2-4'. The two keys were light line (10lb) and light weight (1/8th oz)
Tips: When the bite gets tough the fish are still there you just have to slow down and be patient

Report: Took a Gentleman by the name of Crane Charter today on a 1/2 day Guide Trip, even tho it was high at 9AM in the area that we fished, I found that the fish weren't up has the Pro-Teen, ran 6 spots with zip performance, did everything in the book, At 11 I decided to run to the Central Part of the Delta for mat fish. "Bingo". Gave him a Black Grass Frog made by Snoozerbaits, 20 minutes into it he has a fish on that went 9lb 10oz, biggiest bass he has ever caught. We quite a 1PM the tide was all the way out by then.
City: Castro ValleyTips: Over the last 3 weeks, Ive notice that there's more bigger fish movin into the shallows, grass and mats, but with the unstable weather, they seem not to setup (The day to day sydrome). Suggest you stick to your favorite area's and throw alot of reaction type baits in a search mode fashion to locate the bass (If Any). Im guessin the bigger bass are holdin around 10-12ft in or near current, ready to move to grass or mats to feed,,, a lot of small fry show in the grass right know. Just my observation and my 0.02ct worth. Hope this helps someone in the near future.

Contra Loma Lake

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well, I ish Contra Lome like everyday, but I obviously don't always send in a report. haha. I didn't want Contra Loma to be totally illed with reports by me. LoL. But I'm kinda bored, so I igured I'd send one in today and let ya know how today went. Got out there around 7:00. Today I just stayed shore-bound. And the bite is always a little tougher rom shore as most o you know, but I still managed to get a limit. Started the day o at the boat ramp area by lippin' and pitchin' a 1/2oz t-rigged 4" black PowerWorm. Was bringin' it along the edge o the weeds on the boat ramp and elt that little tick and set that hook. Pulled in a 13" LM Bass. That's all I got o the power work. So then I switched over and started lippin' a 1/16oz t-rigged 3" elctrc blu w/ lrg blu lk (164) twintail yammamoto grub! (Now how's that or details??) I was ishin' on the dock there at the boat ramp and was bringin' it on the outside edge o the dock right along side o some weeds. Yoink! Caught a 12" LM Bass. That's all I caught o that. Then I decided to try out a 5" wtrmln w/ lrg blk lk Senko. Rigged it regular (not wacky). Didn't get one hit o it. Then I decided to start lippin' a 1/8oz t-rigged 4" plum w/ sml emerald lk (231) twintail yammamoto grub. Fished rom shore (southeast I guess o the ramp) and cast right along side o the big wee mat that's there right up next to the reeds. First cast, it hits the water and I'm waiting or it to sink. Line gets a little tighter than it should while it's sinking and I set the hook. Another 13" LM Bass. I'm slowly castin' it and workin' back towards the ramp. There's a small clump o reeds along the shore. I looks around in there and I see one just sittin' right there in the reeds about 3t rom shore. I lip the grub in there, and yoink! It's a 13 1/2" LM Bass. (I had to put in that 1/2"...haha) Ater that I didn't get anything lippin' that grub around. So I decide to head it on over to the Channel Pt. dock. I pack it up and walk on over there. I start out lippin' a t-rigged 1/8oz 6" nightcrawler colored Creme worm. Nothing. So then I decided to start lippin' a 3/16oz 4" chart w/ lrg blu lk tube. I made a pitch right up next to the tules where it was like 6-7t deep. I'm lettin' it sink with the line pretty slack. I reel in the slack and see my line movin' way o to the let. Yoink! Set it, and pulled in another 13" LM Bass. Didn't get anything else on the tube ater that. Then last but not least I started throwin' the Senko around again. Nothin'! So I ended up with like a 7# limit. haha. Pretty weak, but not bad considering it was all rom shore eh? d:o)Sturgeon Kid-----
Tips: Heck, I seem to be catching ish there on just about anything right now. Frog bite has really slacked o though or me. Past two times I've used it no blow-ups at all. I was talkin' to some other guys there lately and tubes seem to be the trick right now. I dunno though, caught 3/5 limit pitchin' those yammie grubs. You decide!

Water Temp: 76-79
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Returned to DP in the middle o the week. Started at just beore 6am and ished until 4pm. The ish were not as cooperative as on Saturday (7/15) but it was still a good day. In general the ish were deeper than they had been only 4 days earlier perhaps a residual rom the weekend traic. I caught 9 ish during the day and all came on worms 4 1/2 salt & pepper and motor oil with a chartreuse tip. Only one ish was caught on a 7 inch red shad, but it was the biggest. As on Saturday, most o the activity came in the am. Wednesday was noticably hotter than Saturday and unortunantly was a clear blue bird day.
