Report: I cought a Black Bass right inside a grassy point across the lake on the right side o the dam and down a waise. I let all o my spinner baits at home that day as I had orgot them on the bench in my garage. So I put on a Git-Zit rog, and was making some cast o the point. When we got just inside o the point, I hooked this monster Bass, I must have hit him in the head with the lure because he swollowed it as soon as it hit the water. He made some jumps, and I dont think that he could make up his mind to witch side o the boat he was going to come in on, but ater a ew minutes, with the help o my son Matthew, we got him into the boat. I was not sure, but because o the size and the girth o the ish,My irst thought was that he would go 8,9, pounds. We headed back to the dock and took sime pictures o him, then I carrred him up to the store to weigh him on the digital scale. Well, he was 6 lb. 15 oz. What did I know? My biggest Bass caught to this point, and I must say that I have been ishing Bass or 35 years, was 5 lb. 4 oz. We took this bass back down to the dock and the boat and my son and I let it go. As we bid arwell to him, we said to each other that we would continue to to ish or that 10 pounder. I that day ever comes, thats the day that we will have a trophy on the wall...

Report: Fished with Keith Clow on Clearlake on the night o 8/2/00.We ished various rock piles around the lake. We caught a total o 12 ish between 3 to 7 pounds. I was lucky enough to catch the 7 pounder on a 10" black power worm. We took a 5# on a crankbait, 2 about 3#'s on a black spinner bait, and the remainder on power worms. The best 5 went about 23 to 24 pounds. Not bad or my ish night trip on Clearlake.
City: SuisunTips: Learn the lake by hiring a guide. It takes alot o the guess work out. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND hiring Keith Clow.

The jones Valley Marina has moved out to end up just across rom the Jones Valley Public ramp, the 5mph buoys are a 100 yards out past the ramp now, water way down or this time o year, we will have launching problems within a month as some ramps won't be usable. lots o problems or the olks not used to the lower levels, groundings are getting to be a daily occurence.BE CAREFUL.

Water Temp: ??
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished out of Holland Tract during the evening with my partner DC. Tide was coming in and was probably near the top. We tried spinnerbaits and buzz baits. Had one on the spinnerbait and lost one on a buzz bait. After arriving in an area I know that hold fish I put on a Senko and blam, a three lb.er. fishing a little farther and blam, a four lb.er. Picked up a couple of other fish on 4-inch ring worms and one dink on the Senko. One thing we saw was a TON of little shad flipping everywhere. wonder if all this bait had the bite down. Also had one on a speed trap.
City: ConcordTips: Fished the Senko along some docks and weeds. Looked like worms were the trick last night.

Must have been about 10:00 pm when my brother sets the hook on atoad, this thing just made his drag scream and he line was singingwhen he got em in the boat it was a beautiul emale o 12.2That pretty much ended the bite, ish are staying pretty deepeven at night, but again the water was in the mid eighties.

Water Temp: 76
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Went out on the 1st and ished the american river entrance to the lake rom about 1730 to 2030. I caught an eleven incher and a two pounder on a brown worm in about ten to iteen eet o water. I tried a buzz bait and had a big ish hit it but no other luck. Seemed to be pretty tough ishing. The ish seem to be heavily pressured in this area and aren't prone to striking easily.
City: SacramentoTips: Both ish hit the worm while it was alling. I recommend working it slow with a light split shot the will allow the worm to drop slow.

Report: Thanks, MA, for the fishing report. Went out on Saturday and caught 11 bass all on topwater. Biggest fish was a hair under 4#. The rest of the fish were 2 - 2 1/2#--nice fish for Calero in the summer time. Fished in am only. Lost one nice fish--about 7#. Again, MA, we ought to hook up seeing as you are a top water fisherman too. I'm on the lake a lot. Thanks again for the tip. Good fishing! p. s. Nice to get an accurate fishing report now and then!
City: San JoseTips: Recommend a trailer hook on top water bait. Be patient and work it slow.

Water Temp: 75 to 80 degree
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Hit the Jones Valley area around 4 pm Sunday ishing rom shore in the Clickapudi Trailhead area. Due to the low water, the willow tree areas here are almost out o the water. I ishing a our inch Blue Ghost pattern on a 1/64th ounce weight in 6 to 8 eet o water. I hit 3 bass in 15 minutes. Two were small ish about 10 inches, but one was a little over 2.5 lbs. Lots o small shad in the vicinity to the trees. I tried a Muddler Minnow streamer or some bluegill and and hit a 1.5 lb spot. Fly ishing or bass is cool too.Being that it was Sunday, there were a lot o jet skis and ski boats out. This made the water muddy in spots, but there are still are some protected areas to get some ish inside the inlet.Just or the catishing ans out there....the catishing is great. I hit 6 ish on anchovies in one hour rom 10pm to 11 pm. The ish are in only 10 eet o water o the natural points.Something has to be done about the heavy silting that all o these jet skis are causing to the banks. The repeated stern wave action that these little crat kick up is going to have an impact on the bass population o Shasta as well as the other lakes in the area. Some kind o compremise needs to be made.
City: ReddingTips: Early morning or topwater using injured minnows, zara spooks, or Rebels ished slowly on top. Blue Ghost and OxBlood magic worms are still producing in 10 to 25 eet o water near the exposed points and around the willow trees. Don't rule out using live small minnows this time o the year. I know, I know....their not a lure. For the catishing crowd....anchovies cut up to the 2" size are working really well now. My biggest cat Sunday night was 4 lbs.I'll be back this weekend or some more ishing. See you out there.

Report: meet up with Scott Lagan rom Newark up here or a houseboat vacation and we went out at 9pm, air temp 86, water down 46t to an area near Deadman's Gulch on the Sac arm, and over by Marshmallow Point or 35 in the boat, six went to 2 1/2 lbs and Scott nailed a 5 1/2 pound spot at straight-up midnight on my usual jigs, had a great time and Scott and I were whooping it up when he got the big bass. o the water at 2:10 AM. Most o the marinas are in the process o moving their stu out rom the banks because o the dropping water levels, it is being drawn down at the rate o approx 1 inch per hour. Will hit 108 degrees in the morning, so the ishing at night is the only way to go unless u don't mind boiling ur brains.

Water Temp: 72-75
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the Redman on Saturday out of the Hook. Had a rough day but got a couple of good bites that payed off. Only caught 4 fish from less than a pound to 5. All fish came from current flipping a Strike King flipping tube in Pumpkin Green Flake. 3 fish came from weed/tules and one came off a rock wall with no weeds. Fish are relating to current to feed.
City: BrentwoodTips: Frog bite and current bite should both be turning on with the warmer weather, also don't forget that in clearer water the fish may relate to shade in the afternoons.
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Whites, Honker, and Dissapointment Saturday caught a ton of fish but no size biggest was 3. Lost FIVE fish two on a buzzbait, and three more doin what I call ripflukein a Senko in Daiqiari. The two buzzbait fish were good ones 3 - 4 pounders. The fish were not blowin up on the bait just coming up behind and slurpin it in. We flipped about 10 more fish again no big size. Damn what a long HOT ride home in the afternoon.
City: SacramentoTips: Work the buzzbait, the two I lost were defiently better quality Dont' want to give up one tip I found with Tourney coming up but we all no that summertime means moving water right????

Water Temp: 72
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I launched out of Ladds at 6:30 a.m. and headed for fourteen mile slough. I began throwing a white spinnerbait and had no immediate luck and then switched to a dark colored worm. After a few casts I caught one. Then another and another. Things cooled off for a while so I threw the spinnerbait again and caught one. Then returned to the worm. I had a limit by 10:30 a.m. None of them were large but fun anyway. As the skiers got to be a pain, I decided to head back. A guy yelled from a boat, I went over to see if he needed help. He asked to borrow my scale. I let him use it to weigh his 9 pounder. Said he caught it on a Rattle Trap throwing it along the weedline. I didn't catch it but at least I got to weigh it.
City: ModestoTips: Dark worm fished very slow.

Water Temp: didn't check
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of the Break about 7:30. Went directly to Sherman and boy was the wind blowing. Went into twin sloughs and nothing. Went to the outside of Sherman(Antioch side) caught 2 that went about 2lbs. apiece. Nothing else so went into Dutch, threw a Watermelon Senko, caught another two, biggest being 2.5lbs. As tide turned around and began to come in fished the inside of the Break where all Hell broke loose for about 30 minutes. Buzzed one with a white Strike King that went 5.5lbs. Switched to a blue and white 1/2oz spinnerbait and picked 5 more up to 3lbs. Everything was tight or going through tules. Action stopped after about 30 minutes of incoming tide. Not another fish after. Came in at 2:30.
City: PittsburgTips: Right place right time. Used a darker color Senko in stained water. Used a chartreuse and white on the outside of Sherman. The clearer water in the Break switched to blue and white spinnerbait. Tide affected all fish caught
