Report: Saturday, March 18th I landed the largest Largemouth Bass in 6 years o ishing at Lake Perris. Saturday was also the day an Association called Bass America held a tournament on the lake. The weather was warm, the water was clear and the Bass were near shore spawning. Several other anglers were claiming landing 10 to 20 Bass during the day.Lake Perris was very busy with boat traic due to the warm weather and clear skies.

Tips: Bass were hitting on plastic lizzards and worms. I landed mine on a nightcrawler hanging 5' beneath a bobber.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got to Pinto about 6:30AM. Fished all around the lake got a ew strikes but that was it. I was jiggin a Black/Blue jig with a junebug grub trailer. ( I read in an article somewhere that it worked better than a jig and pig...NOT!)Talked to two guys who got 5 ish , one was eight pounds! Full o eggs. They were using jig and pig. Tight into shoreline cover , SLOW! This lake should be working well in a couple o weeks. Don't orget to post your reports regardless o how the day was...
      City: Aptos

Tips: Black/Blue jig with dark colored pig , pitch into shoreline cover , tight , most strikes on the drop , i not , let'ersit on the bottom or a ew seconds and then jig real slow , pause , and jig again. The guy that caught the eight pounder gave me this tip.

      Water Temp: 54.5

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Found a terriic split-shot bite in the North Fork. Bite started at 11:45 and lasted until about 3:00. Probably could have caught more, but got tired o ighting the wind. Partner and I caught between 25-30 ish during that time. Oxblood 4.5" weines ished in 2-13 eet was the hot ticket, but color was not be much o a actor since we caught them on eight dierent colors o that same rocky point. The ish were mostly spots running 1.5 lbs, a couple o 2 lb smallmouth and one 3 lb. largemouth. The big suprise was the 5.5 lb spotted bass I caught on the last cast o the day.
      City: Elk Grove

Tips: Main river rocky points that drop o into deep water. Did not catch any ish rom the nearby willows. Best bite came in the aternoon, ater the sun had warmed the rocks.

      Water Temp: 50.9-54.2

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: We ished Lake Sonoma Friday rom 6:30 A.M to 5:00 P.M. and the wind blew rom 6 to 20 miles per hour all day long. Most o the ish were caught on points beore ull sun or rom shadow pockets on or near the points ater 3:00 P.M.. From our experience yesterday, the ish have not moved up into the backs o the coves nor do they appear to be in intensive preparation or spawning..We caught 22 ish ranging rom about 10 inches to an estimated 3.25 lbs.. None o the ish appeared to be laden with eggs nor were their abdomens distended rom extensive oraging. The largest ish (a large mouth) was caught on a spinner bait and the smallest ish (a small mouth) was caught on a rip bait. There was no apparent pattern or most eective color with the ish coming rom 2 to 20 eet o depth. Most ish were lighter colored I assume rom lack o sun penetration due to the muddy water.I rather doubt this report will be o much help but it is actual and objective.Other people that were ishing claimed Carolina rigged lizards (green pumpkin seed & chartreuse) dragged across points were the most productive but we did not Carolina rig or split shot or the ish.Tight lines and above all be sae and have un
