      Water Temp: 49.5

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: lanched from Havens Acres in Lathrop at Noon with the Frenchmen, Marko Beard. Conditions were overcast with muddy, muddy waters....After a short blast to Ladd's, we picked up a 3 lb. er flippin a black and blue jig in 10 feet of water. Took a ride back to Havens Acres, dodging floating crap everywhere... Put the Skeeter back on the trailer and put back a Heineken before leaving for the afternoon at 4pm. Overall I think we could have caught more if we kept heading towards the clearer water. We fished muddy waters...probably not the best idea.. Maybe toward Big Break would have been a better call? Who knows? The whether ended up being overall very pleasant.
      City: Lathrop

Tips: Tips: Warm clothes and lotsa dank.

      Water Temp: 47-50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Had the pleasure o spending the day on the water with ellow nutcases Dan F--> and Chris. Got a ew short hits but that was about it. As I was strictly looking or a big bass bite I was tossing a modiied castaic sot body trout and working it like a rip bait & also like a dying ish. Also threw out an unmodiied castaic trout and deadsticked it over main points and around the dam area. Got one huge boil on it and that's enough to keep my interest up.
      City: Fair Oaks

Tips: From reports I heard at the ramp, sounded like a crankbait was the ticket or some ish, but not many limits that I heard o. Gold Country Bass Club was there and the winning wieght was 10+ with a 6+ kicker or three ish.

      Water Temp: 47-50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished in both orks and main body. Caught small limit by 11:00 on cranks in main body. Spent next 2 hours in the north ork without a hit. Finished in the south ork around NYCreek (very muddy and colder than main body) - no hits. Main body bite was airly shallow 5-14 eet and turned on when the sun hit the water.
      City: Fair Oaks

Tips: Big luctuations in water depths means ish will be suspended. But, when water stabilizes or 2 or 3 days, the ish should move shallow very ast...great rip bite on points and spinnerbait bite on lats at that time.

Went to Sandmound and attempted to split shot but wind made it tough to feel bites. Started throwing rattletrap and picked up a 4 lb. striper. Called it a day at 3pm due to wind and rain. Still beats a day at the office.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Decided to fish a spot off the main channel. I pitch my favorit jig again. On about my fifth pitch I boated a 3 pounder. Then I moved up on a pump that was running and pitch my jig tight to the shore. That was when I set the hook on a fat 8.9 pounder. I don't know whats up but that was my third fish in two weeks over 7 pounds. For you pros out there that's just another day on the delta. For me with only a years experence on the delta, I am starting to get some confidence in my ability to catch quality fish on a regular basis. Well any ways I ended up boating 5 more fish from 2-3 pounds. Not bad for two hours of fishing. hope my spots hold up for the tournment this weekend.

Tips: Tips:build your confidence using a jig. It has made me a better fisherman.

Report: Well, wouldn't you know, I got SKUNKED AGAIN on Saturday (although I got a strike like a FREIGHT TRAIN on a Carolina-rigged, craw-patterned zipper worm! I think it was a BIG-un, maybe an 8 or 10! Alas, my LEADER snapped -- frayed line from the rocky bottom, I suppose. Had 'er going for a minute or so, though!). A couple of my Bass-n-Tubes buddies were out there: Joe P. caught a nice 3.9'er on a dartheaded reaper (junebug?), plus another one crankin' a Wiggle Wart. Dave R. caught 4 keepers on a 4" dartheaded worm. A couple of guys on the shore (yo, Nicolo!) said they caught a 4 -1/2'er on a jig. Thinking back, I probably should've been throwin' jigs at the shore, too, maybe darkish little 1/4-ouncers with a 101 pork attached. I think all of the above-mentioned fish were caught in less than 10 feet of water (which stayed at a flat 50 degrees all day, by the way). I didn't chart much of *anything* from 15-30 ft. A couple of boats continued to hover out in the middle much of the day; I guess they were droppin' spoons (never saw' em pull anything up). Although the storm clouds threatened all day, the weather turned out to be quite nice, right up to sunset. ATTENTION FELLOW FLOAT TUBERS & KICKBOATERS: The Bass-n-Tubes tournament schedule opener is coming up soon @ Naci (Feb. 27-28)! Call John Lake for details (408-263-6174), or E- me from here. The balance of the schedule, as I've posted before, is as follows: March 28: Lake Berryessa (Capell Cove) /// April 25: Pinto Lake (Watsonville) /// May 16: Lake Sonoma (Yorty Creek) /// June 26-27: Delta - Middle River (2 days) /// July 25: Pinto Lake /// August 22: Delta - Middle River /// Sept. 19: Woodward Reservoir (Oakdale) /// Oct. 9-10: Clear Lake (2 days) /// Nov. 7: Los Banos Creek Reservoir ///. Get on out & join the fun! Meanwhile, we'll see you at the Sportsmen's Expo!
      City: San Jose

Tips: Tips:Jigs, craw-patterned crankbaits & light line techniques seemed to be the ticket. Wish I could've seen what was on the end of my Carolina rig, too!

Report: I decided to fish in white slough today. Found some water in the 50's, decide to see if I could get a reaction bite with a spinnerbait but only got one dink maybe a pound. Then started to pitch the old trusty jig. My first bite was a nice 4 pounder off a fallen tree with some current running through it. Fish for another few hours and boated another 4 fish in the 2lb class. Had to cut it short so I could get to work on time.
      City: stockton

Tips: Tips:try to use big baits, you want a bait that moves a lot of water when the water is muddy. Try a black jig with a bright tailer.
