Went to tules in deeper water and pitched them. Caught a 3 on the second pitch. 10 minutes later hooked a 4, next pitch hooked another 4. Good Day!

Report: Went out and fished the first Anglers tournament this past Sunday. Day started off pouring down rain. Under these conditions Korny and I gambled for the win in hopes that we could run into a big fish bite. Made a long run south. Rain stopped round 8:00a and by 11:00 not a single bite. We then decided we needed to at least go get a limit and get us some points. Made another long run and pulled into an area with some clearer water and lots of weed growth. Started to split shot a 4" Iovino worm and started getting bit, then thunked a 3 pounder in about 10'. Korny then got one on a dart head. Dang fish of his was 17" long but only weighed two pounds, skinny little rat. Had to fish extremely slow, not moving the bait at all, very painstaking to do out on the Delta for this power fisherman. I then missed a very nice fish. With about an hour and a half to go we decided to get on this rock levee and just crank the begeebers out of it. Manage to catch 4 more fair fish and end up with a limit of 5 for 12.74 and took 12th place. Got $280 for our money back. As it turned out the majority of the successful anglers caught their fish either slow crankin or dead sticking worms, one team even reported shakin worms in 10-15' of water. The bite is very slow right now and you have just got to methodically work for em. Can't emphasize the need to slow down. If ya think you are going too slow, slow down some more.

Report: Started out at 11:00am in taylor boat a nice 3 1/2 on a jig. My partner got one about 2lbs on a speedtrap. Fish for another hour and caught two more dinks, maybe a pound if lucky. Decided to go to a spot on the deep water chanel. We started slamming fish. I was throwing the same jig while my parter had on a speedtrap. I made a pitch under a bush in about 2 feet of water when the fish of my dreams hit. At first I thought it was maybe 4-5lbs then I thought it might be a stripper by the way it run out into the chanel. The fish turn out to be a 11.2lb hog my biggest on the delta ever. I was shot the rest of the day. I couldn't even think straight. I weighed the fish and release it on the same bush that I caught it on. I wish I could of caught that fish on tournment day. My parter ended up getting one about 5 1/2lbs. It was one of the best days I have had in a while. We ended up boating about 15 more all from 1-3 1/2lbs.. The fish were all caught in 2-4 feet of water on incoming tide , don't figure.
      City: Stockton

Tips: Tips:If you want numbers throw a crankbait, quality throw a jig or a big plastic. Fish shallow for the active fish. The shallow fish are only there for one reason at this time of year and that is to feed.

Report: My partner Vince (Hurricane)and I fished the Anglers Choice on the Delta. We didn't pre-fish so the pattern that we found came late in the day. It was to toss a dark jig-pig up against the tulles and leave it there, just like fishing for catfish! The fish would pick it up and move off. We only had 4 fish for 12.85 lb and finished 11th. got a check for $305 that paid for the trip! Cool!

Tips: Tips:Dark jigs. Pretend that your fishing for catfish and don't move it!
