Report: Fishing was very good this weekend for some and not so good for others. With the passing of the full moon last week and the appearance of fry balls everywhere, it does seem we had a very conducive period for spawning and they got through this one, much be tter than the three previous months. There are 1.5-2.5 pound bucks everywhere. All gaurding fry and easy to catch. Seems that any bait you can keep in contact with the bottom, they will attack it. There also has been an upcomming top water bite. The ch ese mats have already infested their usaul areas and a lot of two pounders can be caught off the mats with frogs and rats. And then there's the occational 10+ like what Gary Howell got in this weekends WCB tournamnet. It is not yet hot enough to drive all of them big Delta sows up under these matts, but the time is nearing. Fishing poppers around shallow grass clumps and clear water is also beggining to turn on. The long lost spinnerbait bite is too just around the corner as many fish are now starting to m ve into their early summertime current positions.
