Lots o bait here. The water is pretty shallow, I would say not over 4 eet. We caught over 15 ish here. Some o these were caughton a silver Rat-L-Trap. All in all it was a great day. Big ish was only 4.1 no giants today.

Report: A cold ront went through on Thanksgiving day so it was cool and cloudy with showers, but the ishing wasn't too bad. 'Spots' can be ound in the South Fork on the steeper banks with chunk rock or deep points. I caught only 4 bass but they were good sized, rom 2lbs to 3-1/4 according to my Normark scale. I shook worms in about 15 to 25 eet to get my ish. There are lots o bait ish schooling around so I imagine this is a good time learn to spoon.

Report: Just fished in the ABA Team Tournament and finished third. The fishing was fantastic. Lots of limits weighed in. Our pattern was dropping spinnerbaits and worming in the north end. We had a limit in the first half hour of the tournament and the bite was a ll day. Weather was cloudy and listening to others it seemed fish were caught from shallow all the way to 30-35ft. Our weight was 11.56 lbs for 5 fish. Winners had 15 lbs something, with a 7.5 lb big fish. Lots of nice Smallmouth weighed in. Had two over 2 lbs myself. Good Luck!

Report: Club tournament on Sat and Sun. Weather was overcast Sat w/ showers. Poured rain and windy Sat night but Sun was nice with mostly cloudy skies and some light showers. Winning wt. was 35 lbs (21 on Sat and 14 on Sun). No big ish.....all under 5 lbs., so those caught were good quality ish. All these ish came on either crank baits (crawdad) or traps (same) ished on both docks and tules. 2nd place was 22 lbs and all ish were caught on 4in worms around docks. I only picked up 2 keepers over the 2 days. On on a 3/4 oz rattle trap around docks and ripping a shad rap same area. Water clarity varied throughout the lake. Very stained around Lakeport, moderately around Nice/Lucerene and airly good aroundKonocti area. Lots o bait ish in the Lakeport area. Coudy weather kept water rom warming up in aternoon. Biggest ish caught by club over the 2 days was 5.8 lbs.

Report: Fished Folsom today with my ishing buddy Gary Nakamura. With the ront approaching we were hoping or a good day. Unortunately it didn't come about the way we hoped. I only had two ish all day, but they were good ones. I had a 3 lb spotted bass with a shad pattern crankbait on a rocky point early, then about lunch time, I had a 4.2 lb largemouth on a brown jig. This ish came rom 33 eet o water on a steep rocky bank. Took it's picture and released. Talked to others on the lake and everyone was having a tough day. By the way, the Fishin' Hole on Douglas Blvd is back open, they are sponsoring a team tournament at Folsom on Nov 30th. Call or details, sorry I don't have the number.

Report: Went out of big break marina and had lots of luck. fished only from 2:30-5:00p.m. and caught eight fish. two 1lb, 3 2.5lbs, 3 3lbs, and one 4.75lb. All caught crankind a model 6A in black chrome pattern. I was pulling it two feet and stopping just long enough for me to reel back and pull again. pulling it only a tad slower than i would in summer. All fish were at scattered depths but all fish ate the bait well. the bait was all the way in their mouths. No luck shakin worms or flippin jigs. The craks were killin em. I think the key was using 10lb line. I didnt get a bite on twleve switched to 10 and killed em. All fish caught out of marina. Most marinas are stacked with fish just got to have faith and look for clear water. Try all depths fish are scattered. As i said before just have faith that the fish will hit the faster moving bait. Good fishin to all. any q's e-mail me.

Almaden Lake

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: ok reading some of these comments about how tought this lake is makes me laugh. Like all lakes the bite can shut down but thats rare and far between. Ive been fishing this lake for 6yrs mainly on the vboat w/ major sucess(seeing is believing, look in the photo album on this site) The biggest diffrence ive seen between people catching bass and not isnt the bait used but in the line size. This lake can get incredibly clear and these fish can easliy see the thick line these some people are using. Good luck and continue to catch and release.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I did not say I'd never had a good day at Almaden.
I bet I caught more bass (for last three years at Almaden) than you did for your whole life. My point is many bass fishermen I met there believe so many inflated fishing stories and look for what they've heard. -
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Arthur,
It sounds like you just suck! Three years and you never had a good day at Almaden. Get out on a float tube and either drop shot, crank bait it, or senkos. -
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Sorry, this is not a report. I've been fishing for over three years around this area. I am telling you this Almaden is the one tough lake for catching bass. Do not believe the fishing reports on the baord and what they say whom you just meet there, specially how big of bass they caught unless you see it in front of you or picture. If you really want to catch bass desperately here, illegal entry night fishing is the ticket. It is on your own risk.
Good luck & fishing!
