Report: Fished in the south, below Victoria, on avorite spots and new untried areas. The avorites paid o with keepers including a 6. The new spots were so-so but OK or a irst try. The 6 pounder came lippin a Senko in shallow weeds on a rip-rap bank in a main channel. Others came on Senkos and crankbaits. Nothing special except the big one.

Tips: Not sure on a tip, its like summer out there so use your summer stu I guess.

Report: Spent 3 days on the water and it was average at best. We were ishing in the New Bass Grand Fish O on Sat and Sun, so we decided to pre-ish on Friday. The irst day we managed to get a limit o bass to 9 pounds or so. It was a beautiul day to be ishing, but we were actally hoping or the cooler weather to roll in and turn on the reaction bite. We got most o our ish on senkos and dark plastics. We also got into some striper action, which was a kick. Our biggest striper went 9 pounds. On the 2nd morning, whch was day one o tourney, we woke up to breezy, cool, cloudy conditions. We knew the reaction bite would be on, but could we ind the quality. We got to our avorite reaction bait spot around 7:40 ( we were the 93rd boat out) and had a limit by 8:45. The bite was on, but our biggest ish was only 2.4 pounds. We probably put 50 ish in the boat by 11am but couldn't upgrade the limit. We just kept thinking that we would have to blast a 3 pounder sooner or later. It didn't happen. 1 1/2 pound ish are a blast to catch, but they won't do much good in a tourney when your ishing against the big boys. We went to some wooded areas to try and get some better plastic ish, but no go. 1st day limit 5 ish or 8 1/2 pounds. Day 2, we arrived to complete opposite conditions. Calm, clear and warmer. Bummer. We didn't have a ish until 10:30 when I managed to get a little weed line pattern in 4 to 6 eet o water and caught 3 keeper plastic ish to 2 pounds in a matter o 20 minutes or so. John ollowed that up with 2 crank ish and we had are limit at 11:30, but it was even smaller than the day beore. We knew we had no chance o climbing in the standings at that point, so we tied on some swim baits in hopes o bagging a trophy and getting in to some big ish money. It worked right away, as we hit an 8,6 and two 5's. The problem was, they were striper. They were thick. We had 6 hook ups in a matter o 20 minutes, but decided we should probably think about ocusing on the tournament. Damn, that striper stu is un though. We didn't upgrade the rest o the aternoon and ended up weighing in 7 1/2 pounds or a 2 day total o 16 pounds.
      City: roseville

Tips: Was really hoping that the cooler weather would've hit a week earlier. We were really counting on the reaction bite to keep us in the money. It is raining and blowing like a mother today. Perect conditions when the bass are going in to their winter load up pattern. I love the winter, spring and late all bite on the delta. It's that summer thru mid-all bite that gives me it's. Oh well, guess I better just work a little harder during that period.

Report: Launched at Big Break about 10 am. Got a ew dink bass and a 2 1/2 on Rat-l-traps early on. Then lipped a 5 on a junbug 7" big dipper down near the reck at the bottom o the break. Got a handull o small stripes on traps in the same area. Started spoon jigging Dutch and got a ew more small stripes 2-3 pounds. Then hit 4 in a row o a rock pile in 14 eet o water all between 6 and 8 1/2. Ran to Sherman and picked up a ew more small stripes on traps. Bite slowed so we started searching or new areas and then it happened. I set down on a tule point with good current movement just because it looked good. My buddy and I got 4 stripes to 8.10 lbs right o the bat. Then we noticed about 25 yards around the point was a massive stripper boil and the birds were dive bombing like crazy. We must have caught over 25 stripes (average 3-6 lbs w/a ew 7's and 8's)on Traps and spooks in less than 30 minutes. The most un time I've have Striper ishin' in a while. Made up or saturday when I went out alone and only boated a couple dink bass all day.

Finally stuck a at 5+ with a tag. Good enough or irst place and big ish. Rest o club had a couple small limits all the way down to nothing.

      Water Temp: mid 70's

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Had an awsome Friday morning, but Sat. & Sun. were consideratly slower. Cuaght and released 30 stripers on riday within 3 hours on superspooks and rat-l-traps. Released a limit o bass up to 3lbs. using small white spinnerbaits. Saturday and Sunday together 5 stripers and 4 bass. The biggest striper was barely 18". The larger stripers are still preering the night bite.
      City: Stockton

Tips: Look or schools o shad. The bass are holding in areas away rom the striper activity. The bass are also taking the injured shad ater the stripers go threw. That's how I'm getting my mixed bag. Saturday I made a visual comirmation that salmon are moving threw the area, but they are sluggish with the warmer water temp. I had a nice chrome salmon over 3 t. long ollow my rat-l-trap right up to the boat on Saturday morning.

Report: A riend wanted to ish a ew hours today so we met up and launched my tin can out o downtown Stockton. Fished rom 4:00 to about 7:30 this evening. We started out throwing sot plastics along the closest rock bank--Davey immediately picked up a one-pounder on a 4" shad/craw pattern worm just as we let the ramp. A good omen. I had a ew bites (pesky sunish, most likely) with a Camo colored Baby Brush Hog but no hook ups so we decided to work the dock pilings on the opposite bank. Picked up a couple more dinks and Davey broke o something pretty decent ishing deeper water with the same worm. And then the boils started--quick break out the shad pattern poppers and chase ater 'em!!!We kept our distance initially and picked 'em o at the edge o the boils but the school started moving and soon we were surrounded by mad boiling on all sides. Man, we were nailing stripers let and right, and it took longer to unhook trebles than it took to catch 'em. I have *never* experienced being caught in the middle o a striper renzy so you could imagine my excitement. They were all under 2 pounds but all that action was totally un. Gotta love targets o opportunity! We were throwing Chug Bugs and Splash-Its and then I switched to a ull-sized Zara Spook to discourage the smaller ones but they really did not let up. That block o action must've lasted at least a hal an hour.Ater the renzy was over I went back to working the cover with Brush Hogs but Davey was casting the opposite direction toward open water and still picking up stripers. I guess he was still mad or 'em. My biggest blackie (out o 5) only went to about 1.75 pounds. I think Davie stuck 3, none o size. We must've nailed a total o 35 linesiders though. 'Twas a day o numbers, not weight...

Tips: Found out how easily hooks on Iovino Spash-Its bend. Gotta get some better replacements...

Report: Slow weekend in the down town area. I either missed the schoools o stripers or none came up into town. The bass bite was also slow. Cranked and spinnerbaited in the mourning. Then started split-shotting along the rocky rip-rap. Only dinks this time. The night bite ater work has been ok. Hooking bass on chartruese spinnerbaits up to 2.5 lbs. I ind the stripers are more active at night topwater plugs.

Report: Awsome three day weekend. Got a mixed bag o bass and stripers. The biggest bass went 4lbs. and the biggest striper went 5lbs. My son, Timmy (8 yrs.) and I hooked up the custom Valco bass boat and headed or the downtown area again during the three day weekend to get away rom the holiday weekend madness. This is Timmy's second year learning to cast a baitcaster and he's loving it. We threw spinnerbaits and cranks or the bass. When the stripers came threw we switched to topwater plugs and rat-l-traps. Next time we go out I eel it is time to start casting ull size spooks ater that 5 lber. hit my sons chug bug.
      City: stockton

Tips: Fish or dierent species during the day to make it more enjoyable. Next month the salmon should be moving in soon. Imagine catching three dierent species during the day. I love it and so does Timmy. Have un ishing and good luck.

Report: Launched out o Orwood all 3 days. Morning (high tide) produced very good topwater bite (black/blue buzzbaits, pop-r), as well as a spinner bait bite. When the tide starting to back o the bite got a little tougher, with most ish coming on senko's, reapers, and brush hogs. We stuck with darker colors and got bit pretty consistent. In 2 1/2 days we managed about 50 ish, biggest going 4-3, best 5 about 15. Throw into pockets in the weeds.Special thanks to Lawrence and the guys rom bassbarbarians or the boat rental. It allows those o us who don't have boats the opportunity to get out there on some water we could have never reached. Thanks againwww.bassbarbarians.com

Tips: It was nice ishing on a weekday though low tide is not myavorite.I noticed allot o ish ollowing the tube to the boat, one o the keepers bit the tube then dropped it, I saw this, killed the bait and the ish hammered it on the all and was boated. Report: My dog Randy was kind enough to let me in on the torrid spinnerbait bite he had unearthed on the Delta recently. The real reason he took me is because I like to cast incredibly ar in ront o the boat and parallel to the bank well o any visible cover(it works or me)thus making it impossible or him to pound the bank in search o dinks. 'I know he enjoyed watching me try to cast long As' on a 7'crankbait stick in tight cover. Have you ever heard what a long A sounds like when dragged across 5' o rusty corrugated rooing mat. 15' in the air on top o a boat house? Not pretty.Caught about a dozen 2-3+ lb. and can proudly say not one on a spinnerbait. Cranks and lukes did the trick or me. Randy had sucess on his usual spinnerbaits including a 9lb. striper. All in all not a bad day. Dylan
      City: Gold River

Tips: Fish slightly o cover on moving tides in areas with a little somthing to break the current and hang on!
