Water was muddy everywhere we went. Less than a oot visibility except or a ew small protected pockets. A ew other boats approached me as we let and they all blanked too... Oh well, there's always next time
City: TRACYTips: As usual there was a Tourney out o the Break. It'll be interesting th hear how they did. Someone always inds a way to get on em.

Water Temp: 52*
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: launched out o tower park and decided to go or stripers on the out going tide. thought maybe the amily would enjoy plugging or them instead o looking or largemouths. turned out that the stripers weren't interested and the largemouths were. we threw nothin'but senkos in dierent colors and proceeded to catch and release 3, 4 and 5 pounders, all emales. no dinks what so ever. could not even eel the bite, so you had to watch your line closely. wie and kids had a great time, plus the weather was excellent with views o the snowcapped sierras.
City: aptosTips: was it dee thomas that said crawdads hibernate in the winter? ater catching one 4lb. emale, a dark red colored crawdad puked out o her mouth to my surprise. so i switched to red and black senko. and presto, a 5 pounder !!all the ish were caught in 5t. o water or less.

Report: Decided to try some new territory today on the Delta. Launched out o H&H Marina(wouldnt do this again)and proceeded to ish Litte potatoe, No hits, Turned south and headed to Sycamore, again nothin, but nice to see some dierent areas. Went back down towards Whites and tried to get out o the wind. I started with senko's o every color, nothin! Tied on a Jig, started with blu-blk, then red-blk, then tried brown with a june bug baby brush hog trailer, still nothin, The tide was eveywhere today, seems like it was coming in all day. Headed towards Paradise and stopped at Telephone cut, tied on a unky orange and brown bootleg jig with a large watermelon brush hog trailer, and BAM! irst cast a 1.5 sqeaker, continued to ish the jig and telephone cut, caught one more out o there then let and headed towards disappointment, caught one more 2'lber on the same jig and then calld it a day, water is murky but warming up, jig was the best an the senko ailed me or the irs time, but overall a nice day on the water
City: oakdaleTips: brown and orange jig did the trick today,

Water Temp: 52-55
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Wanted to try some new water so we headed to Paradise Point and ished Disappointment, Whites and Fourteen mile sloughs or the irst time. We used lizards, senkos and rip baits. Took 31 bass total and one small striper. We concentrated on points and bends with 10-15 oot depths and current along weeds/tules . Our presentations were slow but when the ish hit they hit with a purpose. Most o them were 1-2 pounds and I igured i the smaller ish were still staging the bigger ones had probably moved up already. So, we moved into a shallower area with only 6-8 oot depths and was out o the main current. Must have been a good decision cause my girlriend stuck a 6.5 and a 7.8 back to back.

Report: Fished a trip with Bobby Barrack yesterday and it was incredible! We caught about 60 ish between the three o us. All ish were between 2 1/2 to 3/13 pounds with a couple going 4 and one about 6 pounds! Fish were caught on jigs and spinnerbaits. We ished rom 7:00 am to 6:30 pm and caught ish all day long. Bobby is a great guy and a super isherman! A real class act. We have ished with Bobby several times now but this trip may have been one o the best. I you really want to improve your ishing let me say that 11.5 hours on the water with Bobby Barrack is worth more then a lietime o magazine articles. The only reasone we even came in at 6:30 was that it was dark. Bobby is a ishing machine. I don't want to give away any locations and am not sure o where we were anyway.
City: AlamedaTips: Book a trip with Bobby.

Water Temp: cold!!
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished couple hours this last Friday aternoon and ull days Saturday and Sunday. Weather pattern made it an easy decision or me and stayed south, launching out o Rivers End. Friday was tough, two ish in old river, missed several more - very cold and stained water. One caught on T-rigged worm and one on rip bait. Missed couple more on worm while ishing near mouths o sloughs/cuts with some wood and depth nearby. Rip ish came o nothing bank with weed wall. Slow retrieves used. Saturday nearly as bad, and it was very cold. Started in Old River, caught one on iretiger crankbait on edge o large lat missed couple on spinnerbait slow rolled and on spade-tail T-rigged worm. Tried to run north, ished Disco bay, not a bite. Ran back south, started ishing around Widdow's Island/Italian slough, caught 5 small keepers and missed as many. Overall a tough day or 6 small keepers, and kept missing ish as well. Sunday decided to regroup and SLOWLY ish old river with worm and blades. Missed two on blades, then went 5 or 5 on worm and crankbait. Ran north to Widdow's/Italian area, caught 5 more and missed as many again! ARGH! 10 ish or the day, nine were small, one around 4+lbs. Big ish came on slow crankbait o lat again. Worm ish were taking real slow crawl with occasional twitch on bottom. Split shotting and rip bite would not go or me. The ormula that was inally working was to careully look or areas where sun had warmed water a bit, bait was present, depth nearby, and every place that I got bit had some weeds. Not necessarily heavy weeds, but at least a strand or two o green weed, not dead stu. Still can't locate big ish, but had a nice weekend. Met some real nice olks while out on Sunday.
City: hal moon bayTips: Hopeully the controversy has died down. Just want to remind olks that the report that stirred things up said the Jersey Side o Taylor. I can assure you that I have ished the entire length rom the erry landing to Dutch/Piper on that side, and pulled numerous ish all along that entire shoreline at dierent times. That is not too speciic in my opinion, covering several miles o water. Also, I have gone in there right behind others and killed them while they would swear there were no ish around, AND on other days had the same thing happen to me. So lets everyone take it easy. This is supposed to be un. I get almost as much o a kick seein' others catch as I do catchin' em mysel!Best Regards, andGod Bless,Rob T

Water Temp: ??
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished south Delta Saturday. Still tough bite. Missed several hits on plastics and one on spinnerbait. Ran all the way to Sugar cut area, saw some promising areas that will need to be checked later, but no ish that day. Decided to change game plan Sunday, and went into Taylor Slough, knew that ish would be in there this time o year. Was hoping or clear water to try ripping. Water was a tad too murky or that, but tried or an hour or so anyway. Two hits, one striper. Decided to slow down, and recalled getting ish here last year on plastics. Used T-rigged worm with brass and glass to pitch Jersey Island side o Taylor. Fish were tight to weed clumps but biting. Put seven decent keepers in boat, missed several more. The worm was the trick. Most ish hit on all and were pretty aggressive. Best ive over 10 lbs total, which considering my last series o trips is enough to make me smile.
City: hal moon bayTips: Sun warmed banks, weeds (not always right on the bank, hal o ish hit well o bank in weed clumps.) and shaking a brass and glass with dark worm worked or me.Good luck, and God Bless,Rob T

Water Temp: >50?
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished South Delta last Saturday, Jan 5th, or hal day. Real tough day, only a couple o taps on spinnerbait in old river. Nothing on Jigs or crankbaits. Know ish are there, but could not get them to go. Ran to Taylor, water dirty, but ripped or an hour. No hits again. Called it a day. Did manage to hook a big carp with rip bait in old river. Got pretty excited until ish came up and I saw it. Hooked in the mouth as i it was trying to eat my pointer minnow. Maybe 12-15 lbs, quite a war, and un nonetheless.Hope others did better than me.Good luck, and God Bless,Rob T
City: hal moon bayTips: Have two areas that I know are holding some ish, but could not get them to go. Will try something dierent (plastics?) this weekend.

Water Temp: 54-55'
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished last sat and yesterday.....Got on a shallow bite,,,,4" worm,,,and picked up 10 ish......Yesterday it was overcast all day.I was thinking the shallow bit would be awsome,,,,tried blades and rip baits early,,,nada......ound all o the ish I caught 25'-40' on jigs......I boated seven to 2.2 pounds....
City: San Leandro,CaTips: Fished real slow,,,mostly main lake,on small rock banks....

Water Temp: 52-53
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the south end rom 2 to about 4:30. Got a 1 1/2 on my second cast w/ a white crank. Came o a rock point on a main channel (Old River). Lost a second ish (elt even smaller)on another main channel rock point on the same crank. That was the extent o my action. I'm not sure i my temp meter was reading correctly cause it read between 52 and 53,,that's not too bad or this time o year and the ish should be more active i it's correct. The water was still very dirty, at best was only about 18 inches visibility
City: TRACY -
Water Temp: cold
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished last Saturday, Sunday, then Thursday and Friday (Dec. 22,23,27,28). Had good luck overall. South Delta, used blades, rip baits, brown jigs, and crankbaits/rattletraps. Chartreuse or larger baits with slower presentation worked best. Fish mostly setting up on what little weed wall there was. Not too deep. 15 ish Saturday, 1-4+ lbs. My best Delta bag to date. Best 7 near 17 lbs. 35+ ish on Sunday, largest only 3.5, but many 1.5-2 lb ish. Lots o un. Tried new water most o day on thursday, ended up going back to area that was holding ish to put 5 in boat, missed 5 or six hits that day, trying new stu out - rod too sti, missing ish. Friday went back to soter rod with cranks and blades, 14 ish up to 4 lbs-think I saw Steve Sapp at the dock (Launched out o rivers end). Apparently I have lucked into a south delta area similar to the numbers o ish I hit in Taylor last year - in our trips have boated 65 ish or so almost all but 3 or our keepers, with enough 2+ lb ish to make it interesting. Have missed two much larger ish, so better ones are also there. Had to go to wedding today, could not ish NCC, would have been un.Happy New Year and God Bless,Rob T
City: hal moon bayTips: Water clarity or lack thereo dictated what I was eective with. Clearer water good with rip bait and rattletrap. Dirty water good with blades and iretiger speedtrap. Jig ish were very shallow (less than 1 oot!) No luck on plastic worms T-rigged or mojo'ed, but I did not try very long with these, simply didn't "eel" like the right bait.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished hal day Saturday and Sunday this last weekend. Saturday got late start, ran into old river to area that held ish the previous weekend. Started Throwing spinnerbait and crankbait (1/4 oz iretiger speedtrap) hit a decent pocket o ish, 9 small keeper blackies in about 30 minutes in a spot about 100 eet wide (largest only 2 lbs). Saw two nice iberglass boats ishing nearby, spoke to them, and when they said they were ishing a tournament, told them they could have the water, cranked up my tin bote and let the area. Ran to Whiskey, pulled two more on rattletrap (1.5-2 lbs), nothing on jig or plastic. 11 ish rom 1-2 lbs or hal day eort. Sunday promised mysel to explore ourteenmile and disappointment in order to look or bigger ish. Launched out o River's End, and couldn't resist a quick check o the spot in Old River that had been holding up so well. Sure enough, second cast with iretiger speedtrap, a small keeper, next cast, a better ish (looked to be between 2-3 lbs) shakes o at boat. Boated two more keepers on next ive casts - nice healthy looking ish. Clearly ish have not all been caught, but not real big. Miss another one and move o the spot so as not to wear it out. Checked out other nearby areas without a hit. Should point out that I went to using the trap not because the spinnerbait was not working, but because it seemed that I could get a higher percentage o hookups, although the ish seemed a bit smaller with the trap. Let old river and made the run to 14 mile, spinnerbaited less dingy water. Area looked good, but no bait and no hits on traps or blades (where I was a bit shallow or my taste, and . Ran to back end o disappointment, ished tule wall on South side with deep water nearby - no hits on reaper, crankbaits or blades. Tried weedwall on islands, no hits there. Pretty cold. Area looked great, some bait nearby, good clarity, but no ish. I do not have a clue as to how to ish these new areas, but they look real promising, so I intend to study them a bit more. Jig ished on the way back in Lindeman cut, caught one small one, tough day, total o 4 small ish in the boat, but learning a little more each time out.Good luck, Happy Holidays, andGod Bless,Rob T
City: Hal Moon BayTips: As ar as old river/south Delta, keep moving until you hit a ish, then stop and work over area careully. Dead water is not that good or me (dying rotten weeds, no current, no lie), I look or evidence o lie - bait, birds, healthy aquatic vegetation, decent clarity, deeper water nearby and a little bit o current to help better get an idea o how ish may be positioning - no big insights here. As ar at disappointment and 14 mile - not a clue.
-
Water Temp: cooler- below 5
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Went out Tuesday ater the ront to see what had happened to the ish I ound beore the ront in Old River. Quite a change-colder muddy water. One hit in two hours. Decided this was not going to work, so hunted or clearer water out o wind. Ended up around Victoria, stumbled onto a small group o bass and got a limit in about an hour. Missed several-the bite has gotten real subtle. Some on spinnerbait, some on crankbait. Basic scheme was healthy weedwall on structure (depth change, 6 to 9 eet on my graph, South acing banks, some evidence o bait in area, and slow retrieve along weedwall. Fish were bunched up again, caught all o em in a 100 yard stretch. Let the area, trying more new water in Italian. No luck, but mostly just looking, not ishing. Ran into Dee Thomas, said he and his partner had done ok. Considering the conditions, 10 bites or 5 ish elt pretty good. No big ish, all 1-1.5 lb small keepers.Good luck, andGod Bless,Rob T
City: hal moon bayTips: Went to my old reliable "hunt" bait, a rattletrap to locate ish. Seemed to work ok.
