Report: OK guys I cleaned up the reports. We ask to keep these reports fishing related. If you are witness to poaching write down the CF #'s and call
1-888 DFG-CALTIP (888 334-2258), 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Without the CF numbers its a tough nut to crack. However, we will not tolerate derogatory posts in regard to any ethnicity on this board. Keep it about fishing and its all good. -

Report: Hey Tim, Happy to help if I can. Folsom is good all year. Just depends on what you are prepared to do to catch fish. If you go out right now and drag a drop shot, jig or split shot around you will get bit. The one nice thing about a lake with Spotted Bass is that they will bite all winter long. I have averaged 10-15 fish trip all winter in about 8-25 feet of water. Most of all, you just need to keep your line wet. The swim bait bite has been disappointing this year. However, if you chuck the huddy or AC enough, you will get bit. Once again, just depends on how hard you are prepared to work for your fish and what size fish you are going after. Good luck.

Report: How did the ever so honest Jim Scarlett find his way back to this site. Jim, I have witnessed your claims and heard the hundred fish caught story and am going to call your bluff. You told me the same story in the same bend of the south fork last year and I fished fifty feet from you and did not witness you catching a keeper. I am sure you catch fish and I do not dispute that, but do us all a favor and keep the stories within reason. When I come across you fishing at 8:00am (lake opens at 6 and at 5MPH at least 1/2 hour trip to the south fork)and you are laying claim to 100 fish, I can truly say- IMPOSSIBLE!!! That would be 1.11 fish every minute of fishing- and you were fishing plastics. I know that this site is for fishing reports and not back and forth banter, but Jim- there is a reason why you have been banned from this site twice! Do us all a favor and go tell your stories elsewhere.

Water Temp: 58
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: This report is for Folsom, south fork. Up river, 10 feet depht, off 18 foot break. 100 plus bass, all three species, in access of 100 fish morning from 0700 to 1130 a.m. Four boats watched as I continually hooked up on every cast and they did not encroach but did ask from a distance on what I was using, etc. My creel included several fish around four pounds and many around three pounds. You do the math. By eleven thirty my arms and wrists were too tired to continue and I left the area.
City: sacTips: Locate the schools up river this time of the year. Baits should imitate the forage. Forget about swim baits etc.

Report: I have been fishing folsom occasionally from the bank out of Brown's ravine. I have had some success, but no really big fish and the fish I usually catch are spots. I had great success over the past year or two near mormon Island and since then it has not been the same. I know that spotted bass are roamers, but I'm not really interested in Spots I want largemouth or smallmouth which are few and far in between. I have used flukes, hula grubs, and tubes. I have gotten some fish to go on the Griffon Zero (Largemouth) and the Buzzjet. Help me somebody please I'm starting to question my fishing skills. I don't have a boat. Just tell me I'm screwed trying to fish this lake from shore and I will rest assured haha
