Report: Started the day on Natoma with Hippie Sunday AM (9/14). Just two little sqeakers, back on the trailers @ 11 AM. Went over to Folsom or a little while to ind out i the bite I had going on previous days was still there. Found that rats had moved into my boat ramp pattern, so I ran up north to a cobblestone point and rock pile. "Farmed" 4 dropshot ish and a 3# crank ish beore I got rustrated and moved to other water I had yet to touch to see i the same type o pattern was elsewhere. Rats, rats, and more rats. Back to the ramp to see the joke that is "lake maggot" central anymore...Granite Bay. Waited almost 25 minutes just to get to the dock, then took 3 min. 26 sec. to get my boat on the trailer and on my way up the ramp. Should have known better, but I guess I'm the idiot or not knowing what I was getting into. Bite is turning around ellas, get out, wet a line and good luck.
      City: Roseville

Tips: Dropshot, but cranks and blades should start working as the water cools.

Report: I FISHED FOR A FEW HOURS MID AFTERNOON ON TUESDAY. WOULD OF FISHED MORE IF I HAD CHARGED THE TROLLING MOTOR BATTERY. OH WELL. I WASN'T GETTING ANY ACTION AT MY USUAL HAUNTS, SO I WENT BACK IN THE SOUTH FORK TO SEE HOW MUCH THE LAKE HAS FILLED UP. IT IS NICE TO SEE THEY ARE KEEPING THE LAKE STABLE,INSTEAD OF THE CONSTANT FLUCTUATION. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME OUT HERE FOR A FEW MONTHS. MOTOR PROBLEMS. FISHED SOME FLATS NEAR THE CHANNEL, AND CAUGHT 3 NICE SPOTS, BEFORE THE BATTERY DRAINED. WEDNESDAY WENT BACK TO THE SAME FLAT IN THE MORNING. THE LAKE WAS REALLY CALM, AND WE WEREN'T GETTING BIT. AS SOON AS THE WIND PICKED UP WE GOT SOME ACTION. WE DRIFTED OVER THE SAME A COUPLE OF TIMES AND CAUGHT 5 FISH AND LOST JUST AS MANY. DECIDED TO FISH THE OTHER END OF THE LAKE. BAD DECISION. NOTHING GOING ON ANY WHERE ELSE WE FISHED. ALL OF OUR FISH BOTH DAYS WERE CAUGHT IN 10 FEET OR LESS, AND ONLY 1 WAS UNDER 2LBS. THE BIGGEST PUSHING 3.5LBS. I WISH I WOULD OF STAYED WHERE WE WERE AT, BUT LESSON LEARNED.
      City: Cameron Park

Tips: PLASTICS WERE THE TICKET FOR US, BUT THATS WHERE MY CONFIDENCE IS ON THIS LAKE. I AGREE WITH MONIKER ON THE WIND. TRY TO STAY IN IT AS LONG AS YOU CAN. GOOD LUCK.

Then went out wednesday ,same hours, same wind, and no blade bite,no jigbite, no grub bite. Finally went to my rip bait and picked up 4 small ish beore the rain came.

Tried rippin or thirty minutes with no success. Also ished jigs or some time with only one hit. Jigs have not been the ticket this year as they were last year.Ater the water level has dropped eight eet in the last two weeks, it has been holding steady the last ew days.

Report: Sunday I ished my irst tournament with the Folsom Bass Team. Pre-ishing over the last two weeks I had consistent limits rom 7 to 8 pounds. My best limit was about 11 pounds with a 4.0 pound kicker ish. All o my ish were caught on spider jigs o o points in the South in 30-35 eet o water. Up to last week I had a positive eeling going into this tournament. I guess I got touched by some bad karma. Saturday I layed o o my ish and tried similar water. I struggled or a limit o about 6 pounds. On Sunday, none o my ish were home. My partner and I caught our irst and only ish within the irst ew minutes, and that was it. I tried to orce a bite that wasn't happening. What's the take home lesson? When you don't catch any ish on your pattern within the irst ew hours, change it up. Punt i you have to. The Folsom Bass Team seems like a good bunch o guys. I didn't get too hard o a hard time or weighing only one ish. I wonder who I 'll draw or the next tourney. Maybe they have a coroner in their midst. I I draw him, he can pronounce my bite dead beore I blow the whole day chasing it. Props to my partner Ray. He was a great sport and a pleasure to ish with.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Would you really take a tip rom a guy who only weighed one ish? Try a banana with a treble hook.

Report: Drew a blank this morning. Topwater, spllit shotting and crank baits just did not do it. Not on points. Not in coves. Seems like there is a lot o bait around but usually not with bass showing up with them.Rattlesnake is closed till the 26th --had to backtrack to Granite Bay. Fished the north ork.Would love some eedback or suggestions rom any o you who are catching ish. Thanks

      Water Temp: 63.0

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Pre- ished the tourn. on Thursday aternoon, awesome bite. For three hours 6-9pm, 20 or so ish to 3lbs. Great buzz bait bite the last 20 minutes or so- no blow ups they were crushing it. I could not keep the ish o o a wackey riged senko in the willows. I was in high spirits or Saturday.Pre-ished again Friday morning. Much slower, as the temp had started to drop with the storm ront coming in. No top water, but did catch several nice largemouth up to 4lbs in the willows. We would ind a spot catch a ish and leave saving it or Saturday. Our back up was drop shot on humps in the main body and dam with lukes thrown in. This also produced some nice smallmouth and spots to 2.5 lbs on Friday. Again, as sone as we ound decent sized ish we let the area. We could catch small spots to 1lb all day on the dam rip rap . Saturday was absolute demoralization. Every spot we had was occupied by at least 3 boats when we got to it,( one o the last boats out the gate). The wind blew and blew, with a good drop in temp.Tough bite or us, I only caught one largemouth on a wacky rigged senko at 2.97 pounds and missed a hook set on three others around willows all day. My partner got the goose egg. I tend to ish like I deer hunt, avoiding peak human activity, ishing o times and under ideal conditions or the ish, so I ask mysel why I ished this tourn, it was my third tourn. I know it was a tough bite but I was cut o once and ished all over within the 25 yd zone by the same jerk, "chick delight" .So I ask mysel why tourn ish in the irst place?I still have not igured that one out but I suppose I'll sign up or another.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Did not have any or Sat. Thursday aternoon was great, enjoy it when you get in the zone and take a kid ishing. No matter how bad it gets don't succumb to being a "jerk".

Report: Fished Granite Bay area last ew days and caught a nice mixture o smallies, spots, hybrids and bigmouths. Most ish came dartheading worms, however two largemouths (2+ and 3+) came on dartheaded sot jerk baits up a little shallower. With the wind blowing I started with 1/4 oz. heads and got a ew ish but many o the bites came on the all so I switched to 1/8 oz. heads and shook the bait as it ell. The requency o bites increased and had 8-10 bites per hour. Fished the cove at Beals and it was a little slower than the main lake points and rock piles but that was my irst time back there and one ellow I talked to seemed very excited about the bedding largemouth he inds there. I saw one ish (8-10 lbs) in 5-8 eet o water around the dritwood and big metal box near Dutton's Point however she was a little smarter than me (so what else is new). Good luck.
      City: Citrus Heights

Tips: I hear the north ork is the better o the two right now. Areas around the hazard buoys have ish and the lake lice avoid them, too.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Hit the lake about 4pm with hope that the wind would settle down a bit. It didn't until ater dark. Got tossed around pretty good all evening. The wind and cold didn't seem to eect the ishing much. My partner and I boated 30+ ish by dark. 20 small spots, 5 smallmouth and 5 spots in the 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 lb. range. All ish were caught in 8 to 18 eet o water, tight to rocks or trees. Caught Fish on 4" Magic worms, 4 and 5" Senkos, and a shad Bitsy gig with black trailer.

Tips: Don't worry too much about the weather. Get out when you can.

      Water Temp: 58-61

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: More ishermen...way ewer ish caught this weekend. Fish weren't bunched up like last week, and weren't as agressive...guess the cooler water and weather during last week put em o a ways, and maybe pushed o the spawn or a while? They were deeper and o rocky banks this week, and hitting plastic worms. My partner Gary (aka "BassKilla")hooked a ish on a Senko and we could see another was chasing it and then or a ew seconds both ish were hooked. Stranger still, one ish came o, and the one that we boated had the hook on the outside o its head, making us think it was the second ish that we landed! A new one on us! Looks like the weather will warm this week and maybe things will get HOT!
