      Water Temp: N/A

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I went out fishing for the infamous large trout and endud up catching bass. I was using just a worm, weight, and a hook. I caught 15 bass sitting on beds. The largest being 4.5(lbs.). I was too late to make it around the corner when I heard the splash. Someone had beat me to the spot. They had just reeled in a 7(lb.) bass. I couldn't believe it. I just missed the opportunity. I did see some giant black crappie caught that were the size of some bass. Baitfish were everywhere. I only saw a few trout caught though fishing from shore. I will be coming back to this lake for sure.
      City: Rosetown

Tips: Crappie were hitting minnows, jigs, and worms. Bass were hitting worms(live), jigs, and minnows. Trout were hitting power bait and worms. Keep fishing, they are there.

Of a dozen bass boats we talked to, only a few fish were caught and we tried everything the day after your so called 73 fish day.

then back in the coves and nailed maybe 7 more on a crankbait.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Me and the wife, Bassgirl, fished worms and tubes today ,and caught several large and smallmouth bass. We started at the mouth of the river on the north side working the bank and the first drop-off. I tossed a smoke and purple 5" worm, no weight, let it settle to the bottom and worked it back slowwww stop and go .They would hit it as I started the retrieve again. On the south bank of the river there is a shelf with a quick drop-off, caught a few switching between the worm and a 3 1/2" tube in Blue Gill pattern,1/4 oz. slipin weight. When we got up on the shelf I casted the tube toward the shore, next to a bush and let it settle down. When I took up the slack, My line was going left pretty fast. I set the hook three times, this fish was heavy,I worked to the boat and thought this was going to be a short fight. As the bass went under my boat it saw me move and broke me off with two flicks of it's tail. You would have thought I spooled my reel with thread cuz my rod hardly moved, the line just went "Tink". Then we moved to two other midlake shorlines we like to fish and caught fish at both of them using the same technique. O'l Bassgirl caught her fish using a 3 1/2",1/4 oz. tube in a browncraw pattern with the same technique
      City: Ft. Bragg,Ca.

Tips: I think most of the fish we caught today were males. The change in weather has got the on guard,be patient and you'll catch fish. Also don't be shy, leave your own report!!!!!

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Been out a couple of days this week (Wed and Sat). Fished the usual spots for early spring. The water is still a bit cold, but did happen to see a fish caught on Wednesday. Ran into a couple of young fellers (Ramy and friends) who have been fishing the lake for the last few weeks.

I've been throwing a splitshot 4" Pumpkin Green YUM Wooly Hawg on my spinning outfit with some success (one small bass on Saturday).

Give it another week or two - I've got a feeling it'll be a pretty good year.
      City: Daly City

Tips: Go slow - try every pocket and point. Move to different spots, if you have the time.

      Water Temp: 56-60

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished 9 hours on Saturday, caught 8 fish. 5 were dink largemouths, 2 were healthy, 2 pound, very pregnant spots... finally at 7:00pm nailed a 7 pound 1 ounce largemouth in timber at the back of a cove. Sunday was a complete write-off; didn't get bit once in four hours! Fished from shore out to 35 feet deep with various plastics, both T-rigged and Carolina.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Guess the cold front made the fishing tough. With a week of sun and warmer weather, this lake will be on!

No Rip bite. Never tried top water. came in with 5 fish all in good shape. Would of liked to see more boats though. 30 boats total.

Worked hard to overcome the 13" min. Ended up with all our fish being over 15".

      Water Temp: 52.9

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished that Yuba City Bass Busters tourney I told you about in an earlier post. 10.91 was good enough for 5th with 12 something winning it. Right at 30 boats and the weather might have kept some away. Jigs, senkos, worms, spinnerbaits and some top water were some baits mentioned. So you didn't go. Want another chance? You got it. On April 26 the Chico Conservation Bass Club holds their spring spectacular and for $80.00 you get entry, big fish option and a BBQ dinner. I have fished this with close to 90 boats entered. For info call Vi at 8728805 or Rich at 8720407. And I think your going to need more than 12 pounds to win this one. See you there.
      City: Paradise

Tips: We fished all the windy banks we could find, and it wasn't hard to find them. The baits mentioned above would be a good start. The lake is coming up each day and with it the debris so be aware.

      Water Temp: no idea

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Father/Son annual camping trip to a lake I've never fished. This year we chose Pardee. Saturday was cloudy/sprinkled most of the day. Fishing was fantastic!!!Caught 30+ fish all up the river arm. 20 largemouth and 10 smallmouth. Didn't expect so much largemouth activity but they were chomping. Caught one that weighed just over 10 full of eggs in a cut off the river. Partner caught a 6.1 smallmouth at the secondary point leading into the area I caught the large fish. Used a variety of baits until about Noon when I figured out what they really wanted.

Sunday was bluebird and much slower. Fished the river arm but not very far in...the fishing was slow until around Noon when the wind picked up. Moved out of the cuts and fished step rock walls/points. Caught 10 fish in a couple hours and lost 3 others. Two largies right at 5 lbs and one smallie that went 3.2. Off the water headed to home at 1:30 PM
      City: Brentwood

Tips: Drop shot was the ticket for all our fish. Best colors were MMII (overcast), Warmouth, and Oxblood. Most fish were caught between 5 - 35 feet. Cloud cover and wind chop fish were tighter to the bank. Blue bird all bites were deep. Line was important (6 lb or less) was the only way bites would occur. Tried other methods, jigs, split shot, carolina rig, swim baits...Only action was on the drop shot. The cuts had a few large fish in them, however, most fun for my son and I was at the entrance to the cuts and main river and secondary points.
