Water Temp: 41-49
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Today was my day! Launched out of Granite Bay around 8:30 and was fishing with my good buddy Bruce. At 12:40 she hit! A long 45 seconds later she was in the boat! A 10.8 LARGEMOUTH! About 27 inches long! My lifetime personal best!!!

Nicasio Lake

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 1:00 to 5:30 and caught 10 bass to 4lbs. Caught 9 of them on a chatterbait and 1 on a brush hog in 3 to 10 feet of water. Water is usually like chocolate milk this time of year, but is very clear right now with the lack of rain.
City: novatoTips: Lighten up your colors, try to go more natural. I was yoyoing the chatterbait and getting a lot of hits as it fell. I think a spinnerbait would work just as well, just very your retrieve.
CATCH AND RELEASE. High mercury count in this lake (It's posted around the lake).

Shadow Cliffs Lake
-
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: ya George, this lake is extremely shallow. I have not caught any bass in Shadow Cliffs lately,it is very slow right now.
P.S I have a spinncasting reel, but im looking into a baitcasting reel. I dont want a serious one, but maybe one under 80 bucks. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Water Temp: 57
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Two of us fished 2.5 days (Friday,Saturday, and Sunday). We tried many different techniques to catch fish, drifting live minnows worked the best. Of the 70 fish we caught, all but five were on minnows. A few on senko's, and a couple dart headed worms. Most of the fish were down a minimum of 20 feet to the bottom in 30 to 80 feet of water. We did not see any fish in the back of any coves and the further back a river arm we went, the less fish we saw.
City: Rough and ReadyTips: They seem to only want the real thing (minnows, minnows and an occassional senko). I would not go out without minnows!!!

Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 42-45
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Like the previous report, fish really slow. My Partner and I won the REBC club tourney on the 20th with 17.71 lbs. with a 4.96 kicker. We focused mainly on rocks and ledges dragging worms so slow it was almost like dead sticking. The bite was so soft, but if you didn't wait until the line moved to set you wouldn't hook the bass. Be patient and you will catch fish.
City: Santa RosaTips: The next Redwood Empire Bass Club Tournament will be February 24th at Berryessa out of Capell Cove. We welcome new members both boaters and non boaters to fish with us. Lafayette Lake

Water Temp: 45-50
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Water is nice and clear and trout are being pulled out from the docks and buoys. The rain didn't seem to affect the bite in a good or bad way. Just wanted to post that if you are going after trout here stay out of the east cove. The trout don't hang out there at least right now. All other areas are solid. Usin chartreuse power for whatever thats worth, but eggs and worms are workin too.

Amador Lake
-
Water Temp: 48-49
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Rick Tietz and I went to Amador today for some relaxation after the ISE shows and to see if we could get some frozen bass to bite! We fished from 11 am to 5 pm and actually caught a few. We sucessfully dodged about 100 trout boats and found some areas to fish, mostly in the main body. Rick had three bass up to 4 lbs and I landed two - about 3 1/4 and 2 1/2 lbs. Our limit was around 15 lbs and the bass were caught on jigs of various color combinations. No one color seemed best. Rick had several bites on his spoons and a Basstrix plastic minnow dropshot rig, but missed them all. I missed about 3 on jigs. Most bites were very sluggish but Rick caught two of his bass (including the 4 pounder) just before dark and they nailed his jig. A south breeze blew most of the trip which caused the day to be rather cool. That might have slowed the bite some but we wern't complaining! The zillions of shad in the lake were hard to locate - maybe they froze to death!!
City: Yuba CityTips: We really didn't catch any bass less than 25 feet deep. We caught two offshore but most bites came on steep shoreline points. Don't forget to deadstick your lure on occasion, and above all else, work it SLOWLY until the water warms a bit.

Anderson Lake
-
Water Temp: 52.6
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Best Winter day on Anderson ever. Together my son and I caught 19, 12 of which were at least 15". We lost two pigs at the boat. Both Drop-Shot and Ribbon-Tail worms were the ticket. Worms shallow and Drop-shot deep. All were caught on the windy side of the banks.
City: Santa ClaraTips: Pressure bites!
Tight Lines!

Ilsanjo Lake
-
Water Temp: 50?
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: hiked in to Annadel and reached the lake at about 5:00pm. pretty cold on the water, wind and air temp of about 45. caught a nice fish again on my first cast, about 2.5 lbs (17") on a green senko (same as my report from sunday). when i was taking the hook out i noticed the tail of another less fortunate "baitfish" sticking out of the gullet. pretty cool and indicative of some pretty active feeding, i'd say... caught another one of about 1.5 and another much smaller shaker. hooked and landed three, total weight of about 4.5 lbs. nice results for about 40 minutes of fishing.
City: petalumaTips: all fish were caught with the senko texas rigged. i threw it wacky for a while, but didn't get a strike using this method.

Quarry Lakes
-
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Caught 3 bass and 2 trouts.
City: FremontTips: Bass were caught on 4inch pumpkin lizards. Trouts were caught using 50count size worms on a floater in early morning. Leader was about 18 inches and don't cast out too far.

-
Sonoma Lake
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: The only fishing report I can post is what my friend told me from fishing last week. Fish heavy jigs in 30 to 40 ft around submerged trees in brown/orange or black/blue covered with smelly jelly and work it really slow. When the bass bite you will definitely fell a "THUMP". Drop shotting Robo MM will work also.
City: Santa RosaTips: The Redwood Empire Bass Club next tournament is at Berryessa on February 24th. We welcome all new members both boaters and non boaters to fish with us. Rich Thiel, a well known guide will be speaking at our next meeting on Tuesday February 13th at 7p.m. at the Rohnert Park Community Center at the corner of Rohnert Park Expressway and Snyder Lane.Log onto rebc.net for more info or call me at 707-758-5762. Berryessa Lake
-
Water Temp: 49 ------50
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Last Sunday at Berryessa the lake was like being on the ocean. Lots of wind and
whitecaps. Coming from
Steele Park the only place I could go was Capell Cove. Once I passed the five
mile an hour zone the
mountains protected me from the wind. I went all the way to the end at 1.9 feet
of water and fished all
the way back. For those who have never been in Capell Cove, there are alot of
trees, bushes and rocks in
the water. This structure is great for bass better in the spring but I didn't
do that badly now. I caught five
large mouth bass the biggest one was 2.7 pounds. Three small mouth bass largest
one 1.8 pounds and a
few spotted. The water temperature was between 49 to 50 degrees. Not a bad day
of fishing considering
the elements. Dino at Spanish Flat informed me that this weekend the fishing
was fair. People were
catching bass in seven to forty feet of water and trollers for trout were
trolling in the upper ten feet of
the water with needle fish and castmasters behind flashers. If you are
interested in a daily fishing report
I would call Dino or Mike at Spanish Flat the number there is 707-966-7708.
February 14th - 18th I will be
at the fishing show at the Cow Palace hope to see you there. The pictures with
this email are to show you
the baits and scents that I like to use. 'til next
week................................good fishing!!!!!!
