Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Overall a suprisingly slow day. Didn't get on the water until 1:00PM- headed up the middle fork expecting a big numbers day and only scratched-up a dozen or so slot fish. Moved to south fork for similar results. Main body was also slow. Off the lake by 6:00... I was told the bite was wide open? Perhaps before noon. My daughter had the big fish of the day- a spot at 2.6lbs.
City: RosevilleTips: We stuck with dart heads in various colors- fishing points and rocks. Fish were at all depths. There were some guys at the top of the NF fishing crawdads under bobbers doing well...guess I should have been fishin a jig.

Almaden Lake
-
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Most of those little boils are this years spawn. I still see several bass in the 1-2 inch range. They are most likely feeding on bugs and trying to get bigger for the future. Try light colored lures in light grays, light smoke, silver, or salt n pepper. Float tubing around the island is a sweet spot. It runs pretty shallow almost all the way around with the execption of a huge drop on the coleman side of it.

Chesbro Lake
-
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished Chesbro today from around 8:00-1:30 and caught 10 fish up to 2# All fish came off rocky points from 4-15 feet of water. Bite was pretty soft for the most part and all fish were caught on jigs.
City: San JoseTips: Look for points with large rock piles and bounce brown and purple jigs on the bottom.

Loch Lomond Lake
-
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: hey OrsaFIsher, For the most part the marina side of the lake decends pretty gradually with not much angle. The far side of the lake has much steeper banks. It's much deeper and more gorgy to the left of the marina towards the damn. Over to the left of the marina just past that first cove is where I caught my largest bass there over 8lbs but for the most part i do not catch many fish on that end. Most of the fish i catch in the summer are in the shallows. I've spent many long days fishing deep water there on the other side of the lake without success. It seems like there just arent very many fish in this lake anymore, but i know theres a few lunkers. Its just hard without a boat because most of the good coves and points for bass are on the opposite side of the lake where theres no foot or trail access. I went last week and caught maybe 5 or 6 dinks and on that was maybe 2lbs... Kind of discouraging but that was the best trip out of my last 3...
City: scotts valleyTips: No tips these days. Just get lucky and run a lure into the face of on of the few remaining nice fish in this lake...

Report: Mr. Lewis I would like to talk to you regarding your fishing trip so please contact me at the email address that I left above. Thanks in advance.

City: EDH, CalTips: I think you guys are being too hard on this guy or maybe you just can't believe that this limit is acheivable. It's acheivable on any body of water and at anytime of the year I know because I have seen it all too often on so many of the California Res/lake and river systems. So liten up

Water Temp: 70
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Launched from King Is around 8am and got off the water at 1230pm. Fished around that area in Whites and Dissapointment. Caught around 40 bbass and 6 stripers, consistent action. Largest black bass around 5lbs and largest striper was only 19in. Mostly 1.5-2lb and some dinks. Nice day out on the water, stayed cool with the cloud cover and breeze and allowed for topwater throughout the first couple hours, though I slept in.
City: mantecaTips: Senkos, dropshot, rapalas, and spooks. Couple hits on frog but no takers today. Outgoing tide the whole time. Have fun.

Coyote Lake
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well I made another night trip hoping to get some good action unfortunately I ran into a mountain lion on the road right next to my fishin spot. It was after a dead raccoon in the road. Cool sight but I wasnt gonna hang out to do any fishin. Ended up with a dink on a brush hawg near the ramp.
City: HollisterTips: Keep yer ears and eyes on when out at night thats the second cat I've run into in the past two years.

Shasta Lake

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Folk's, I don't know Walter but I've heard the type of crap your throwing at him before. Do-not criticize one for possibly achieving something that has yet become the nominal.
About 8 to 10 years ago, during a Coyote Bait and Tackle Team Tournament, a 20+lbs limit on a little lake (Anderson Res.) in South San Jose/Morgan Hill was weighed in. Second place had 12 lbs. There was nothing but non-believers and skeptics until the following year, when 3 teams came in around 20 lbs. Yes, I was a member of the team that weighed in 20+lbs the first year and took third the following year. I friend of mine and his brother came in 1st the second year. First year I was fishing in 40 to 60 feet of water when everyone else was throwiung on the bank.
The problem is, if it doesn't fit to our idea of what is or isn't possible, we're immediate non-believers. Relax, and ask Walter to take you fishing and teach you what you've been missing.
Happy hooking to you all...

Almaden Lake

Water Temp: NA
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 6pm to 8pm. Lake was muddy, with weed growth on the bottom. Fished the shoreline from Coleman to Almaden Blvd. pitched a weightless senko to cover. No takers - saw no cruisers either. Just before the sunset minnows started popping the surface at first I thought there was a bass feeding and they were jumping for cover but they were popping out of the water all along the shoreline - shallow. Thinking there might be a predator nearby I tied on a buzzbait (thinking now I should have tried a pop'r) no takers at the buzzbait, I threw it past the popping minnows and swam it through them. No takers whatsover - I didn't see any blow-ups on the minnows either..
Anyone else see this? Don't know if this is a common occurence but if it is then targeting the bass should not be too difficult during this timeframe. Just need to find the right shoreline depth changes etc...

Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 78
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished 2 mornings and 2 evenings, had great days. 60 fish each time, 7,6 and 3 were 5 lbs. The rest were 2 to 4 1/2 lbs. Good thing I did not go with Larry H. as per KC, I would have caught a lot less fish...lol...I always thought Larry was trying to be helpful, but KC must know different.
City: Healdsburg, CaTips: Ask Larry
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished with the wife today and we caught 33 fish. Our best 5 went 18lbs. We caught fish at Glenhaven, Buckingham Point, Soda Bay and all around Horseshoe. Drop shot, wacky senkos, spinnerbaits, crankbaits all took fish.
Tips: Kreatures and Senkos for numbers and size.
Wild Vibe Base Shad with updated hooks caught quite a few fish.
White spinnerbaits also took a number of fish.
Use the wind to your advantage it (at times) will cause baitfish to get pinned along shorelines, easy pickings once the right bait is found.

Piru Lake

Water Temp: 75
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the lake on Monday. Started out throwing topwater, I was throwing a Zoom horny toad and my father a Sammy, caught a couple each but not much size 1-2lbs. Then went throwing crankbaits and got a bunch of dinks with a couple of over a pound. Ended up dropshotting and got two that were 2.5 on the digital otherwise all others were 10 inches or so. Got the bigger ones in 20-30 feet of water on roboworms.

Sonoma Lake
-
Water Temp: 67-73
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Had the pleasure of fishing with the Dominator today on his new Ranger 520! The smoothest riding, most stable and functional boat with tons of deck space and storage, and it looks good too. I received a serious schooling on the art of frog fishing as he put a 6 and 4 in the boat in the first half hour. After the sun came up he showed me how to have one ton fun (1 oz jig and trailer) and put more keepers in the boat. I hear the Sunday Federation tournament participants averaged 10lb sacks. Dom finished the day with 18lbs. Nice work buddy!
City: PetalumaTips: Hit the lake with people who fish better and have a nicer boat than you do ;) When fishing Sonoma now, use jigs and plastics in natural colors in about 20-30' once the sun gets up.

Berryessa Lake
-
Water Temp: 75-80
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Launched the boat at dark with not great expectations and over near big island. No reaction bite, but i graphed fish and bait between 8-15' and caught some on the drop shot. Then they moved. could find them again and went to the east side and the graph found some more fish in the 3 0f the 4 stops. Initially i caught 'em, but they would lose their aggressiveness no matter what i tried. I even changed leaders to flouro, but that didn't seem to help. The fish were there and shallower than i thought they would be, but they were very particular. 1/3 of my 15-20 fish were dinks, but i did manage a 2 1/2 lmb..i was happy, caught some fish, had a couple of brews and off the lake by noon..
City: orindaTips: using your graph is important now as there are lotsa of non productive areas. when you do find the fish they will be schooled on bait...I wish i could give you better hints on how to trigger a bite, but I probably only caught 10-20% of what was under the boat........

Water Temp: 80
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: The Wife and I were going to hit Clear lake, but got a late start so went to Berryessa instead. Arrived at Putah creek resort around 7am and tryed fishing the main lake near the resort and got nothing. so we headed up Putah creek arm past the ski area ( 5mph zone ). Only one fish on crank baits, but a nice 3lber. Most of the 20 fish I hooked were on bl/red plastic. Mostly senkos, and all around wood. Tree roots, logs, brush, but not on the rocks. Very light bite, just a tap or felt pressure, then set the hook. One smallmouth, and the rest were largemouth. The last time I fished this lake was in June with my son, when the water was 12ft higher, and we had a 60 fish day. This lake should really turn on in a couple of weeks.
City: SAN FRANCISCOTips: Look for wood and if you think you feel a tap or presure, SET THE HOOK !

Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 78 - 82
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: This is a late report.
Clear Lake was great. Probably the funnest four days I've spent on any body of water. They were biting topwater at dawn and dusk. frogs and such. The beaver bite on ledges and rockpiles was also good, both north and south, though it was easier to get a spot to yourself up north. Nightbite was good to great on weekdays, for some reason they shut off that sat/sun. Thurs - easy to get a 20# limit. Friday 22# limit, Sat20# limit; sunday 15# limit (i started to run out of fish, but it was still fun)
City: belmontTips: fish deep, look for ambush points, seawall corners. during the top of the hot day, frog shady areas, canopies, and open water with shade..

Coyote Lake
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Got out to the lake at 7am. Fished till 3pm. Water very low. All the visible structure out of the water. Caught one 2 lb. largemouth at about 9am. Waterskiers all over the place since that time. If you like to flip into cover, this plave isn't for you rite now. If you are more interested in dropshoting, have fun!

City: fremontTips: try split shot , dropshot shaky head jigs no reaction bites for us but i threw spinnerbaits cranks and topwater but no takers for some reason!
