Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 66-75
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Clear Lake seems to be slowing down
Tips: The fish seem to bite pretty fast so if I didn't get bit I'd move catch a few then move again this seemed to work all day. See me for your insurance needs Mark Lassagne

Spring Lake

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Caught 5 fish. Two were alright, about 2-pounds. Got one at the north island on a Kreature green pumpkin red flake. Got the other on a Senko green pumpkin red flake, rigged wacky. Got the rest on a Zoom super fluke, silver smoke.
It's been 10 years since I fished this lake and I grew up with it, my home lake as a kid. Can't wait to come back and try again.
City: Hidden Valley LakeTips: Be patient.

Chabot Lake

Water Temp: ??
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I rented a boat today, and managed to catch & release 5 fish, biggest right around 2 lbs. All caught on texas-rigged 4 1/2" roboworms. Tossed out the rubber trout all day with no takers, or even followers as far as I saw.
City: OaklandTips: Work the outside of heavy weeds along tullee-covered shores.

Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 78
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I guided a good fisherman Friday in his 520 Ranger boat and what a kick - I point and say "go here - go there"!! What a hoot! We had a great time and the fishing quality-wise was good as we had a 20 lb 2 oz limit, but only 22 bass. The numbers bite seems to be slowing some as the tournament pressure picks up steam. Our three biggest were 4-2, 4-8, and 5-1. Since I show folks around the lake and we look at the meter a lot, we are not fishing all the time. The great news is that the jig bite is coming on! I was using a brown/orange Rattlin' Weapon jig (1/4 and 3/8 oz) with my favorite Yamamoto #180 single tail grub. My client suddenly found his jigs to be more effective when he "stole" my 180's, har! Not a bass to be had on a crankbait for the first time. Kreature baits were working as always, as were 10" Power worms. North wind blew all day, limiting some of the areas I wanted to take him - but it worked out fine.
City: Yuba CityTips: I think anglers are going to have to move around a bit more to find concentrations of bass. The popular spots are just pounded during tournament season. If you know a favorite "nook and cranny" - try it! The bass just might be there - trying to escape the underwater "latest lure fashion show"!!! If you are fishing a small bait, make sure it has some movement - like in drop-shotting - so the bass know it's there.

Berryessa Lake
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Cappell Cove between the launch and the pump from 6:30 to 10:00 am. Catfish were biting liver doughbait. Slow action for bass or crappie using pink grubs and Kastmasters. Moved over to Markeley Cove at 10:30 and hooked a small crappie on a Kastmaster. I had a beaver swimming around me for about an hour which probably ruined my chances.
City: VacavilleTips: Fish at first light with minnows, jigs and spinners in cover. In the morning, crappie were jumping in schools in the coves that have some underwater vegetaion.
-
Water Temp: 75
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I guided a father-son team, new to bass fishing, on Sat. I agree with the previous report - fishing was surprisingly slow - I think we landed only 9 or 10 bass. One surprise was a near 4 lb largemouth that took a Senko in about 5 feet of water near a bush in the narrows. She was pretty skinny - not a good sign. Fishing is tough anyway on a weekend. My clients caught their bass split-shotting purple ghost worms and I caught a few drop-shotting a shad colored Yamamoto 4" Kut Tail worm. I think the lake had a north wind on Friday and that could have made the fishing a little tough.
City: Yuba CityTips: I would like to thank another polite "bass boat captain" that came within 50-60 feet of our boat doing at least 65 mph. That guy set bass fishing back about 50 years in the eyes of the father in my boat. That seems to happen a lot at Berryessa - maybe just to me? I see bass boats breaking 5 mph speed limits all the time - it seems only at Berryessa. I hope we can clean up our act before it is too late!

Oroville Lake
-
Water Temp: 73
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished in same tournament as Capt Jack. I started off on main lake points throwing super spook. Caught first 3 keepers first hour. Fished cracks in north fork and bridges rest of day. Ended up with 10 over 13 inchs. Was fishing for big bite all day . Jigs big worms and top water. Big bite never came but had a great time catching and releasing with culmright.
City: orangevaleTips: Fish seem to still be in summer pattern. I didn't catch 2 fish in the same spot. Top water and deep crank baits in shad pattern worked. Dart head worms off steep walls. Lots of bait and small bass in 40 foot of water use electronics. We would drop shot and find out they were little and move on. Never found big bite.
-
Water Temp: 69-73
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Some water was clear and some had mud lines. Fished our club Tourament Basin Bass Masters from Loomis. Out at safe sun light and back in at 3:00pm. Most of our fish were 12 inches or less , dragging worms, lizards, leaches, cranking and dropshoted. Our one and only can dropshot at the bridge in 55 ft with a morning dawn. The winners were spinner bait and cranking in the windy points. Yes stay deep and slow.
City: rocklinTips: drop shot and crankin.

Report: Fished the Elk Grove Bass Tournament on Saturday. We caught 25 or more fish all about 12 inches. Almost all of our fish came drop shotting 4" worms in 30 feet of water in the trees. We did find some fish with Hula grubs on rocky points. We ended up with only 4 fish to weigh in for 4th place. Robin and Joe took 1st place with 5 fish and big fish! Way to go!

City: SacramentoTips: Work the areas where you find wood cover near main lake points. 30 to 40 foot depths is where we found most of our fish. Go see the guy's at Phil's, they are a great help and really enjoy what they do!

Water Temp: 70
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: launched out of capells @6:30a and was the only one there, i guess that was a sign..air temp was a very cool 52 with a cooler breeze..sun came out around 11, as it finally warmed up..fished til 3 with 11 fish total, including 3 dinky-dinks and 1 bluegill..the rest were bass of the 12-14" variety. fished about 8 different spots with 2 of them holding fish that were relating to bait. could only entice a few to bite in each spot, even tho' i know there were many below. keeper fish were on plastics in the 15-20ft depth. the smaller fish hit jerk and crank. only saw one other bass boat and he said it was a zero day for him...we both blamed the full moon.
City: orindaTips: this definitely is a time to use your graph..fish will be plenty in some areas and other areas will = zero..didn't fish the main body, as it was too cold in the a.m.(i know, i'm a wuss) and when it got warmer, a strong southernly came out with the sun..but i think the cooler nights have prompted some of the fish to come up shallower than normal for this time of the year. hope this helps...good fishn

Report: Hey guys check out this link:
https://www.rokbass.com
It is literally an untapped bass fishing country. YIIPPEEE!!!!!! Now I need to buy some gear to cover my 2 year tour here. What clued me in to investigate further was a fish market I walked by in Daegu. I saw live bass swimming around in a tank. Boy, did I get really excited. I found out there is a B.A.S.S. Federation Club right here at Camp Walker. I guess I'm not going to go nuts now waiting to go fishing again. When I'm able to I will send fishing reports soon. Cya for now.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished the windy Future Pro Tournament on Sat with my partner and caught 5 keepers to bring to the weigh in. Had a little over 7 lbs with the winner bringing in a little over 11 lbs. We dropshotted on the main body most of the day in 30-45ft. I believe the winner dropshotted, dragged jigs, and ripped in creek channels. Had a great day all in all.
City: SacTips: Dropshot with shad colored roboworms or proworms in the main body and drag brown/purple jigs.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Stained on most of the lake, found some fish at the dam on the rocks in 20-40 ft with light line on split shot and drop shot small worms or a leach. Found some 2.0 pounders in coves with rocks and trees near. Movered deep into 30-40 ft with a 1/2 oz JK jig in brown/brown on the main body off points. -
Water Temp: 72-74
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Hope this helps someone looking for a last minute clue before the Future Pro Tour at Folsom. Fished Sept. 6,8,9,13 and 15 found most fish in 30-40 feet water but some up on the likely rockpiles. Even dropshotted a trout same spot I landed a 3.5-4 lb. spot. All the fish looked real healthy and well-fed as evidenced by their full conformation and wagasakis and threadfin all over the graph and my deck. The fish were mostly caught on drophot rigged worms on light test, but dartheaded worms caught fish, too. Even had a few misses on spook and buzz, early. Stick to the main lake for most consistent success, but I haven't been fishing the five mph zones so I can't advise.
City: Citrus HeightsTips: Let drophot worm fall on slack line. I'd give a color but all colors seemed to work. Light line. Move if you don't get bit quickly and don't graph bait. The spots I caught fish like fire last week had bait and fish but the bait moved this week and so did the fish so move frequently to a new likely area. Get after it early too, early last week when we had the thick marine layer, wind and the fish bit through the day, however the dead calm, bluebird days were best early and hit the skids, bigtime.
