Report: Well it's the lonley angler again.Got on the water at 6:30 lake is dropping pretty fast typical here they send most of it down to la la land.First stop about halfway down to porti cove i saw some fish working the surface thought they were going to be carp.Well to my surprise they were striper's but they wernt boiling like they normally do just a fish here and there.so i started with a spook but all they did was follow it to the boat.So i switched to a large pop-r they were all over it.Nothing big average about 18" but every now and then i would catch one about 4lbs.The good part is they were in real good shape some had a pretty good gut on them.Latly the fish here have been real skinny.that dried up about 8:00 so went farther into the cove and found a spot where they were so thick about every 10th fish i would snag them using a jerkbait. They were all small fish though.you could actually see there dorsel fin's and just before the lure hit the water the whole school would go crazy.Never seen anything like it before over here.
City: SALINASTips: Call 1-800-805-4805 before you go to get the wind update allthough it was like glass when i went.

Report: I fished this morning, one of the rare times I have to go fishing without a client in at bridge bay at 0500 motored over to the north end of slaugtherhouse island throwing top water, almost got one on first cast a good fish hit at the spook I was throwing three times and I missed him three times. Fish my way to dolly point throwing a darterhead with a chart. grub and a 3/4 oz.jig with a brown hula grub. No bites
Switch to drop shot with a purple 4" worm and started to catch appox 10- fish all rats, I guess its that time of the year again, It was a pretty tuff bite. caught a total of 11 fish all rats. But it was a real pleasure to fish alone again and watch the great sunrise
City: ReddingTips: most fish were in 15 to 25 foot of water

Amador Lake
-
Water Temp: 74-84
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished with a friend from 7:00 pm till 3:30 am. Fishing was okay for numbers and poor for size - caught about 20 fish. Biggest went 4.6 pounds, second biggest went 2.5 pounds, all others were below 2 pounds and way too many were under 1 pound. One fish was only 4 inches long. Jigs and Senkos seemed to work but when switched to the big Senko (7") to get bigger fish, still seemed to get same sized fish (8 inces to 2 pounds) but they still bit the big bait. Too bad they cost about a buck apiece - no fun catching an 8 incher and having it cost a buck. No topwater, frog, crankbait or spinnerbait success.
City: FolsomTips: Cover a lot of water. Fish were on points and in coves at depths of 1 foot to about 15 feet. A few mosquitos were out.

Anderson Lake
-
Water Temp: Warm
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Caught 12 largemouth all in the 1-1.5 pound range except for one at 3 pounds and the other at 5 pounds. All caught southside of the lake. Wierd bite. Most fish seem to grab the bait and stay there. Any time it felt heavy, I set the hook and they were there. It was almost like the feeling when your snagged on some weeds. Usually its just tap tap tap. HAH. Oh Well. Keep Fishin! Even though it's hot, it's still a blast. Just take a dive into the lake once an awhile.
City: Morgan HillTips: Nothing on crank, spinner, or topwater. All plastics. Split Shot or T-rigged.

Report: I sold my boat recently and while I am waiting for my new one I decided to go out with Bobby Barrack guide service. What a day. The guide coundn't be nicer and accomadating. We nailed fish most of the day in and around franks. I landed a 7 lber on a senko and several 3-4 lb frog fish. We caught good quality fish all day.

Clear Lake

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Rad
You could probably kick out from Redbud and fish around there unless its too windy. Flippin around the mouth of cache creed could be good for you and the back side of Big Island can produce good fish too. Around Konocti stays pretty protected too and there are a lot of areas to fish but you might have to deal with a lot of boat traffic. Good luck

Not one. 85% of my time was spent drop-shotting various 3 and 4 inch shad colored finess "treats." Nada. Tossed out some spinner baits, crank baits and even a 'Spook in frustration.
City: AuburnTips: Early has been better ... not much, but at least early I'm getting a couple of good fish on each trip. This was my first evening out there. Also ... from what I hear ... if you are willing to go there ... live bait. I'm not that desparate (yet).
