      Water Temp: 74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: launched out of paradise and went into disapointment and actually had a pretty good day compared to others i talked to. first ten minutes i already had 3lber right in front of the marina on a spinnerbait. 2nd spot caught a lot on senkos, cranks and lizards with one good one that went 5-2. after that it was just too darn hot. best 5 was around 17lbs.
      City: lodi

Tips: pretty just went junk fishing with no real pattern. red cranks, white spinnerbaits, and watermelon plastics all worked for me. but when i found the fish they were really stacked together.

      Water Temp: 71-73

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got up to the lake around 5:30 pm and ran straight down to the dam and fished the rocky area with watermelon senkos and chartreuse spinnerbaits with a total of four fish one being five pounds and another six and a half. Had a blast catching those lunkers while watching the sunset.
      City: Prunedale

Tips: Bring a lot of bug repellent, those mosquits will eat you alive. Also get out before it gets hot because that is the peak time right now for catching fish, early morning and late afternoon. other then that you will be fighting against wakeboarders, sunburn, and lockjaw.

      Water Temp: 70-72

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got on the water at 6:30AM with my brother. Nothing on Sammy's. Same for cranks. Switched up to a texas rigged lizard and pulled up a 7lb 9oz beauty. Three more between the two of us, all about 1.5lb, during the next 2 hours on lizards and brush hogs. Not many boats and no wake boarders. Gotta love weekdays!
      City: Morgan Hill

Tips: Nothing magical about today. Just in the right place at the right time. Everything was green and white laminate or watermelon. All fish were caught on the eastern shore. Good luck.

      Water Temp: 70-75

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Another day at San Pablo. Started of throwin a jig into the rocks by the launch. Nothing. Threw a swimbait for a couple of hours, nothing. Switch to a finnese worm on a splitshot rig got a bout 6, 1lb bass, 1 2.2lb bass, and a 3lb bass. Not a bad day considering how low the lake is and how much junk is in the water.
      City: cv

Tips: Slow Slow Slow Slow. 4-5 inch finese worms in natural colors. Points.

      Water Temp: 75

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished with a friend from about 7:30 pm till 2 am. We caught about 15 fish with the biggest going a bit over 5 pounds. There was a cold and moist wind that night which may have affected the bite. I lost a quality fish of about 4 pounds. Otherwise, most fish were in the 2 pound range. Amador can be a lot tougher than this so we were pretty happy.
      City: Folsom

Tips: Spinnerbaits, senkos, jigs, worms, and frogs all worked. Fish were mostly in the top 15 feet.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished 7am to 10:30 dinging around the lake. Didn't see much. Other fishermen were zipping back and forth so they probably weren't on a good spot or pattern. Caught 2 small largemouths off the wall opposite marina. Motoroil worm on leadhead. Carp are less obvious. Wind came up early at 10:30. Jim at the marina said it has been slow.
      City: Santa Barbara

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Idiot? All because I said to dropshot? Forget this board ... you guys are something. Zack, they are dumping loads of water in to the lake right now messing up the water temp. Wait until they stop transfering water - give it a couple of days to warm the water - hit the lake and give greens advice a try. Good luck!
      City: San Jose

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Today was a bit tougher than my last trip out. David and I caught 3 fish each, but out of the 6 fish caught there were only 2 keepers(a 13incher and a 1lb.5oz.) We caught our fish near the boat ramp and the back cove on jigs and drop shot.
      City: Antioch

Tips: Jigs and drop shot around steeper, rocky or hard bottom banks in a little deeper water. Brown/black jig and watermelon drop shot worms.

    • By

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Hey Mike, About them skiers and kids you encountered----ain't nothing. I've seen knuckleheads actually BBQ next to the ramp. And your cry for the rangers, good luck on that. The engineering corp handles the lake now. Don't worry about kepping your daily bag limit either, they never check. It's kinda good to thin the fish population though. They are too skinny, like there is no food in the lake. The limit should be 10 just for thinning purposes.
      City: Bakersfield

Tips: Find the school and throw anything bone-white. If school can't be found, drift anchovy 100 ft deep.

      City: san jose

Tips: Tip of the day.... relax and enjoy.. and remember to thank to ranger's for keeping it safe for us... Oh another tip.. why don't they open Calero at 5.30 am so we can fish and get the hell out of there before all the jet skier's and wake boarder's come in....not fun to be a "bobber"..Take care and fish safe.

      Water Temp: 67-69

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Somewhat a slow day. fished honker, bishop, and white. Caught a few fish.Nothing larger than 2lbs. Tried senkos, spook, frog, buzz, bucktailjig, and crank. Caught fish only on crank and bucktailjig. Only one blowup on frog.
      City: stockton

Tips: Fish were outside of tules along weedline in stained water. No fish caught in clearer water. Used a craw colored crank produced better than the bucktail.

      Water Temp: 72

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Stayed at Konocti Sunday through Friday Morning. Fished Monday through Thursday usually only for a couple of hours in the morning. Tried to target only bigger fish. Got fish on a pointer 128 in ghost (varying size from 1 to 5lbs) and a 6" senko (2-3.25lbs). I threw frogs for hours with only one lillte half-hearted slap. Also threw spooks with no success. Everyone I talked to said they were catching fish on drop shot. I didn't want to do this at all. On Thursday I met a guy at the state park who said his friend caught a 10.5 the day before drop shotting. I was amazed. So I tired it and caught a 4. Every fish I caught was shaped like a football and was healthy as can be. saw lots of bait. Those fish have plenty to eat.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Best fish were in the north end near tules. Some fish are still on beds. drop shot will produce, but I would prefer to rip.

In the south end, the people I talked to said they were catching fish on watermellonseed brushogs and dropshot but didn't sound like the fish had any real size to them.

      Water Temp: 70

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went up there on an afternoon trip, and was real slow until about 6:30 at this time we put 5-6 fish in the boat. The best method seemed to be senkos 4 inch, caught the best one on a crankbait, but all in all still pretty slow.
      City: Yuba City

      Tips: Cover, cover, cover

Report: A fun late day for Jim Malm and I after 7pm. Using jigs in the trees to using top water lures until. The bass are slowly moving up to get the pop r's, sammys and spooks. The darkness comes way to soon and the gates close at tem pm. Work around the standing trees in 15 - 30 ft , some fish are shallow but small. Have fun.

      Water Temp: 62

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished the last 4 days, three of them in the pouring rain. That rain would be fine in March, but in June it seems to be more miserable than usual. The bite seemed to deteriorate a little more each day as front after front went through. Sunday it finally cleared for the ABA tourney and I experienced the worst bite of the 4 days. It started out hot and we had our limit by 7, but it dropped off quick after that. We ended up with 11.59 which was good enough for one place below a payday. 16+ won it and big fish was over 6. The weather is finally supposed to clear and stabilize and with all the rain the water should keep coming up, so the fishing should improve and, with water temps still cool, should stay good for some time to come. I'll keep you posted.
      City: Weaverville

Tips: Most of the better fish have been in 20' or so, but the upcoming full moon should pull a number of fish into the shallows.

Water Temp: hi 50's mid 60'

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Four days on the lake were GREAT what a vacation... between my son and i we caught over a hundred fish most in the 2 lb. range and a few 3's and 4's for good measure. dropshoting, Senko's wacky style , jigs, and Kreature's texas rig, were our top baits. no top water, crakin or reaction bit on our end. Fished the South end between Kinocti Bay and Soda Bay and a half a day in Monitor Bay, 20 - 40 fish days were our norm. Docks were a big producer as well as rocks in Soda Bay. Our thanks to Ross England at the Tackle It for the info and having all the tackle we needed to replenish what the fish chewed up. See ya in August i hope if not in Sept. for sure.
      City: turlock

Tips: Senko's - Watermelon Red or red and black flake. Skinny Bear Jigs 3/8 brown and purple w/single or double tail trailer (green pumkin black flake). Kreature - green pumkin black flake. Dropshot worms - you'll have to talk to Ross, he'll put you on the right worm for the day... Docks, rocks and weed lines moved slow. Deeper water (15-25 ft.) was the key to most of our bigger fish.
