Report: Hey Fishing P, keeping a bass especially during their spawning season can really hurt the bass population of that lake. Also, keeping resident fish such as bass can pose as a serious health risk due to the high concentration of mercury found in these lakes. With that in mind, keep the catfish and trout and throw the bass back. They will always stock plenty of trout and cats for you to catch and keep, but bass populations are wild, so each fish you keep does harm the overall population. Think about it before you keep your next bass, regardless of its size. Not only can it affect the health of the bass population in whatever lake you may be fishing, but you can expirience various health issues as a result of eating this resident fish.

Report: Whatever JohnnyBOY - you can stick with your dropshot and catch the dinks you've been catchin. What other presentations have you been using out there. Anyone can throw a dropshot and get bit. I would hate to see what you think is a 3lber. Are you working on getting your boyscout dropshot badge, sounds like you are almost there. Go bass fishing and release those panfish you've been catchin.

Report: Launched out of Sugar Barge at 6:30am waited for a friend and off we went at 7am. Fished an opening to franks tract and caught 5 bass to two lbs. on magic craw sweet beavers and crawfish crank baits. Wind was already blowing 10 to 15mph and got tried so looked for protected areas around the tract. Shook off a couple more small ones. Went back to Sugar to p/u friend and stayed in Piper Sl. to keep out of wind. Picked up one on a white buzz bait about 2.25#. Tried some other openings and got fish on craw crankbaits no more fish on plastics. Went over to holland cut using cranks and spinnerbaits and pick up 8 more to 2#. Ended the day frog fishing but got no blow-ups. Off water at 2:30pm. Water temp started at 69.2 and ended at 72.4, sunny and windy.

Report: Bite stiffened up a bit as the bait is really scattered. Finding fish here and there, but they are usually fat & healthy from all of the food available right now. Sticking to the darthead & dropshot on main body areas. I've been moving around quite a bit so I really haven't settled into one area and worked it hard. Waiting for a solid spook bite to get going.
      City: Roseville

Tips: Patience right now is the key, lots of fish to catch, but for size has been the issue. 3# is about the top for me lately. Stick to it and the fish will come.

Report: bought a new tr 21x to catch bass and latley all I'm finding are big catfish. Caught a 15+ blue catfish on 6lb spin outfit. AWSOME FIGHT. Good thing I have 109 lb motor guide to keep up with it or it would have spooled me.Bass fishing was poor with only 4 bass on a week day.I also caught a 6 lb channel cat sunday same dart head worm? Wish I could figure out how to catch black bass this big.I did catch one nice 4lb er on split shot rig rather shallow early.
      City: orangevale

Tips: Tough lake for me right now. Only fishing because of upcoming club tournament. Nice clean lake for weekends. Very clean and clear. Stay far away from structure make long cast. Down size tackle? It amazes me how big a fish you can catch on 6lb.maxima line.Iusing the green color line on the catfish if that help bass fishermen? Get them early and bring a nice big lunch for slow afternoons.

Report: went out all day on monday. worked by the channel point dock using drop shot. Got no takers over there but got a decent one by a weed patch near by. It was close to 3lbs. continued to work the shore with no bites until i got to the island. Got another one casting uned a tree. I worked farther down the island and casted by some cover. I got a bite and set it, and it felt like a real nice one. I pulled it up and it turned out to be a catfish i hooked in the back. I did't get any more the rest of the day.

      Tips: work the shores.
