Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out at 8 Am on tuesday morning. went with a buddy of mine who never bass fished before. rigged him up with a wacky worm senko and before u know it....and nice bass. 4-5 pounds, female with no eggs...nice strong fish....as for me, worked a texas rig with a large lizard slowly...nothing till i sped up my retrieve. then it was on for there.....caught 3 fish 1-3 and missed 2 bites....
City: San JoseTips: Seems like post spawn action is on when the conditions are right. Speed up when the water starts to warm, slow down and scale down after midday....

Oroville Lake
-
Water Temp: 70
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I did another guide trip - half day this time - looking for quality spots. We did find some quality fish, but nothing over about 2 1/4. I did help my clients learn how to find good fish at Oroville, and with a little luck, their bass might be bigger. We did catch 30 bass in the short trip with a limit of over 9 pounds. Split-shotting and shaking worms worked well as well as Yamamoto grubs.
City: Yuba CityTips: We saw lots of suspended bass that just wouldn't bite. I think many of the quality bass have moved deep even though the lake is full. There are lots of bass still very shallow and fun to catch on any worm you throw at them!
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: We spent about 2 1/2 hours out on Oroville this Saturday in the middle of the Future Pro Tournament. We fished the areas just south of the bridge near Lime Saddle Marina. Kimberlee, my 7 year old caught 3 bass all about 1 pound on a watermelon Bitsy Tube in about 12 feet of water. My 10 year old Colin caught 7 fish, all on the same watermelon Bitsy Tube. I was able to put 7 in the boat all on a cinnamon twin tail Yamamoto grub on 1/2oz football head jig. Biggest fish was about 2 pounds. Overall a great day on the water with little or no sign of the Tournament fishermen up that far north! It sure was nice!
City: SacramentoTips: All the fish were in the shade portions just off the main points near rock or wood. We fished slowly off the bottom about 8 feet off shore in 12 feet of water to pick up 17 fish in only a couple of hours. Take a kid fishing it will make your day!

Calero Reservoir
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I have been fishing this lake for the last two months at least once or twice a week. People out there swear by the wacky rigged senko but honestly I haven't seen one person pull a fish out of the lake using that rig!!! A dropshotted roboworm minnow (aaron's magic) pulls a constant 5-15 fish within an hour or two. I have even caught a fish two feet from the shore using this rig!!! Do yourself a favor and give it a try!
City: San JoseTips: DROP SHOT A ROBOWORM MINNOW 6-8 INCHES UP THE LINE AND HOLD ON!

California Delta

Water Temp: 65
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished around Stockton area, Whites and Dissapointment. LOW LOW LOW TIDE....Lot's of weeds already!!!! Nailed a nice 9+ on a Brushog in Red w/ RED Flake. Concentrating on Rock w/ Tule, Wood Etc. Had a BALL after work started at 3:30 til Dark. Biggest fish came late afternoon around 4ish! Caught 25-30 fish w/ best 5 going 24+lb. Flippin' and Top-Water did the trick...BEST DAY EVER on a low-tide!!
City: StocktonTips: Throw all the way on shore and drag slowly to the boat....fish seem to be schooled up. Lot's of dinks and missed hooksets..be patient, bigger fish are mixed in.
-
Water Temp: 64-67
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the outgoing tide today starting at the Break. I've never done well on the low tide so this was my day to try and learn something new. Wind is STILL blowing so the water is dirty. Stuck a few small fish in Sherman then ran to Franks. Fished the outside of weed edges for about 6 or 7 fish in the 1-2 lbs range. Decided to try something different and ran to Mildred at the bottom of the tide. Different didn't work. Got nothing. Fish seemed to be schooled up so if you get on, keep fishing the area, others are around. I have on fish hooked and another followed it up and tried to take the bait away!
Tips: I had my best luck dead sticking the bait for a little while. If I moved it to soon not bite. Leave it sit and the fish would pick it up and swim off.

Water Temp: 66to68
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Contra Loma Lake
-
Water Temp: 68
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 6:30am to 9am. caught 6 fish. caught
2 fish to 3 lbs on a 194 senko, caught 4 fish to
7lbs on 208 hula grub fish texas style with
a 1/4oz bullet in front of a glass bead. took all fish along east bank in 3-6 ft of water, fish were
real tight to structure. erratic retrieve help to draw strikes. lake is full to the brim. my guess is if the weather warms for a few days these fish will go on a real strong bite.
City: oakleyTips: if you fish the hula grub t-rigged don't look away from your line, a good quick hook set is needed, i only had one fish really slam it, all the others picked up just as it hit the bottom, feel just the slightest bump. there are still a few trout a swim bait might be worth while to get you on a big fish, you won't get too many bites, maybe none, but if you do it probably will be about 10+ pounds, try the far cove opposite the
ramp.

Folsom Lake
-
Water Temp: 65
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished 3 hours late morning Wednesday as the rain was clearing. Found fish right away on the mouth of the river in 20-25 ft. Rocky banks were best. Biggest went 5 pounds. All were caught on a split shot rig. No luck on Senko, t-rig, and topwater, but didn't try long with these since the split-shot was working so well.
City: PlacervilleTips: Split-shot worked parallel to bank in 25 feet of water.
-
Water Temp: 66
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the North great bite got 2 big post spawn spots to bite, caught a lot of 12 inch fish. Have been fishing salt and pepper grubs on darter heads for months. Catching fish in 5ft of water with nearby 30+ drop off if possible. Stopped catching smallies but haven't been fishing deep. Caught 1 blade fish.
City: Granite BayTips: Fish slow

Sonoma Lake
-
Water Temp: 64-68
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: June 7th-10th fishing trip to Lake Sonoma-
Just a quick FYI. Went camping/fishing for three days with great success
for some nice 2 to 3.5lb Smallmouth, and some consistently big, healthy
Largemouth. Found most action in Warm Springs arm. It rained and drizzled
the whole time, stirring up the nutrients and consequently the bait.
Techniques were either spotting and casting to schools of bait on the
surface with hard/soft shad imitations ( Rapalas, Sassy Shads, Storm
swimbaits, etc.) or lighting up suspended bait on the 'finder and then
getting to the baitball with a countdown or rattletrap, and WHOOEEE! They
were acting like stripers, chasing under and around the bait on the top and
down at 15-20ft, mostly in about 50ft depth. Biggest Bucketmouth weighed in
at 10.25lbs according to the bogagrip, with 3 in the 4-5 lb range, and
LOTS of 2-3 pounders. Lot of smallies in the mix too. Tried jig n'craws,
hawgs and Senkos, without much luck. Stuck w/ shad patterns and all was
well. Bite was still going strong when I left.
Good fishing to you-

City: San AnselmoTips: best bite early and late.

Almaden Lake
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished today from about 9-11am. Pretty slow, saw a few fish hitting top water way out in the middle. I threw basically everything from topwater to senkos, nada. I did get a few 1.5lbers to chase a sluggo. I had a great time, seems like the bass are busting schools of fry.
City: San JoseTips: fish are definitely out there, use a float tube if you got one.

-
Black Butte Lake
-
Water Temp: 68
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out and caught a few fish nothing over 13 inches. Dropshot was the only way we could consistently catch fish.
Tips: Stay alert

California Delta

Water Temp: 65-69
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: CAUGHT 17 FISH MOSTLY ON SENKOS AND JIGS. REALLY TOUGH TO KEEP THE DINKS OFF NO MATTER HOW BIG OF A BAIT YOU THROW. HALF THE TIME THE LITTLE SUCKERS CANT EVEN GET THE BAIT IN THERE MOUTH, CAUSING ALOT OF SWING AND MISSES.
City: FRESNOTips: SENKOS AROUND TULES ON THE HIGH TIDE, JIGS ON ROCKY SHORES ON THE LOW TIDE
