Water Temp: 78.6-80.6
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: got the itch to get back up there, let town at 0315 and got to the stuart' ork ramp at0445, overcast skys and 70 degrees with a drop or two o rain on the windshield, sat around till 0545 and put the boat in, the lake is about 30 t down, moved away rom the ramp throwing a rip bait, then a crank bait and nothing, water a bit murky, picked up my spinning rod and dug around to ind some MGM hooktails an stuck one on, pitched to a stump and got bit right o and up comes a very small smallmouth, reload with another hooktail and throw at some willows and bang! another small ish. This kept up until 0915 when I ran out o the #109C hooktails, Had a 50 pack but went through them quickly just swimming them around any wood or rocky points in Stuart's ork and down in Papoose. Ended up with 38 with only 2 keepers that went 4 lbs, must have shook o as many as I caught, Over in Papoose the water was much clearer and you could see those little guys coming up ater the hooktail, saw one decent ish charge my bait but hit short and took o. Got out at 0945 and the air temp was 75, not a lot o activity on the lake, 3 others ishing and maybe 6 ski boats, one jet ski, reminded me o Shasta in early october. This was my irst crack at the south end and John at MGM gave me some good advice about where to go down there.
City: Redding,CaTips: swimming a 4 inch MGM #109C(chartreuse tail) hooktail on a 1/4 oz darter head rom the bank out to 19t, also caught a ew on hula grubs, the two best came on the hooktail over in Papoose.

Report: Thursday report. Launched rom Orwood and headed to a rock wall on the main river throwing Norman Crank DD18...Caught 15+ ish in a short time, most were small 1-2lb with largest at 2.5lb. Headed to another area in just o the main river and drop shotted 10+ ish with three at 2.5 and 2 over 3lbs...Best quality I have ound to date on the drop shot. Decided to throw jigs and blades or awhile without much luck on either. Headed toward home and ished a rock bank on the Old River and caught too many dinks to talk about on the drop shot. Also caught two large catish that at least got the adrenaline pumping a bit. Good day.
City: Discovery BayTips: Rock, Current, with depth seem to be the key. Didn't get on the water until 11:00 AM and o by 5:00 PM. Otherwise, I'd recommend throwing topwater...Colors were white and watermelon that did the trick cranking and with the drop shot. Stay sae. TG

City: AtwaterTips: Fish slow to pick up bait, don't overreact to bite. Very overcast day and 2 cool days ater very hot spell brought them out. Large number o minnows around boat launch. Would try cranking minnows early.

Water Temp: 82!!!!
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Let the marina Sunday morning at 5:30 to go pitch some Senkos at one o my spots but when I got there one o the local heavys was camped out on it so I continued up river about a hundred or so yards to try a spot I scouted out the day beore during the low tide. Caught tons o 1 and 1 1/2lbr's all on 5in. Baby Bass Senkos. My biggest catch o the day was about a 2lb bullrog that I caught not once but twice also on the Senko. Saw him pop up on some dead tules, pitched it right in ront o him and he pounced on it. Let him go and about a minute later he popped up again. Pitched the Senko right in ront o him again and wham! He did it again!
City: HoltTips: I was ortunate to attend a seminar last year by Mr. Sapp and Mr. Cuccia and one thing that the both o them couldn't stess enough was to go out at the lowest tide, leave the poles at home and just go see what's out there. That alone has improved my ishing more than anything. You'll save on gas because you'll know exactly where you should be ishing or the conditions at hand and that nasty sunburn you always get rom spending the entire day trying to catch the big one will be a thing o the past!

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: This evening I went ishing with my dad rom 6:20-8:00. I stuck one ish today on the island in that cove by the boat ramp. It came on a Whte Snag Proo and went 2lb. 3oz. My biggest rog ish so ar. Not a huge ish but not a bad one. Ater that my dad and I went over to this little spot by channel point tha thas some scum and stu. On my irst cast I missed one that was probably a pound. He took it and I set the hook and he came undone ater 2seconds. I should have waited a little longer. I missed another small one that hit my rog but didn't suck it down. My dad trew out to this spot by some tules and a bass nailed it. I herd some splashing and looked over and then the ish came o. It was probably a good 3lb. ish too judging by the size o the splashing. That was all the action or the night and then we let.
City: AntiochTips: Try rogs in the scum and matted weeds. White has been my best color so ar.

Report: new2Bass'n(Ken) You need to ind mossy type mat and pitch a rog on the bank then move it slowly on to the mat, then start retrieving slowly stopping when you pull it over pockets. Throwing a senko or a tube bait into shady areas can be deadly also. Shade can mean mat but usually means under trees and shaded banks. Bigger ish have been coming o o rogs and senkos.

Report: First o...FROGGIN'RULES. Second...Tom was right about the good overcast weather. I went out this evening to see i I could get some topwater ish. I ished rom 5:15pm-8:40pm. I got my irst limit o bass at Loma. Whoohoo! The irst ish came on my ith cast o the day on a Chart. Snag Proo Frog. It with about 5lbs o weeds. Haha. It went 1lb. 6oz. and it even gave me a little present. LOL. In the mix o weeds was an old Hula Popper colored like a bird. I got one{1lber) on a buzzbait about 45min. later but it came o. I went on the island and went right and ished the mats o vegetation. I switched over to my white Snag Proo and on about my 10th cast got one. It came up to th rog and boled on it but didn't take it. Then I gave the rog 2 more twitches and then it nailed it. It went 1-5. Then Ten minutes later right as my rog came o the mat and hit open water one hit it. I couldn't see my rog so I reeled down, elt the ish tuggin', and set the hook hard. Big ish o the day, 1-9. I then went over towards channel point and ished with my rog in this little area o about 1t o water. On the way over I oun a pop-r and snatched it. I missed a good 2lber because I set too early, another one because o settign too early, and another one that hit it twice but couldn't even take it under. Then I got an 11ozer on the rog. At about 8:35 I got one on a Pop-r that went 1lb.4oz. My mom picked me up at 8:45.
City: AntiochTips: Frogs, rogs, rogs! Twitch 'em ontop o weed mats and scum. I don't know i it made a dierence, but I had a wide black bar on the bottom down the middle o my Chart. rog and spots on the bottom o my white rog. And I know that this made a dierence...I was using the EWG Gamakatsu Frog Hooks. Every ish I got on the rog was hooked in the bony part o the top jaw with both hooks and the hooks went all the way through. Try poppers when it gets later.

Report: in at Hirz Bay at 105 degrees, 117 in town, lake down past 36 t and heading south in a hurry now at nearly a oot per day, wind out o the north at 5 lots o traic as i went upstream in the McCloud. Met up with Ue Gustason and his wie and kids camped out in Kamloops on a holday harbor houseboat, He is up rom Oakland and on a little vacation rom his two businesses, we ran upstream and he gets one on with his second cast but it hops o at the boat, we were throwing hula grubs, we ished out way south to near Dekas Rock or 12 with twice as many getting o, got a double near mahles creek and both were decent, Ue went a little larger at 2.4, mine was 2.2. didn't lose any good ish tonight. no moon so it was black as the inside o a cat. Lots o wakeboard traic and we had a atality in the mid mccloud this evening when 2 jet skis collided killing one operator. things slowed down traic wise about 10pm but we still saw boats towing skiers and running with no lights on at 1030 pm. Went back to his boat or a little snack and shot the breeze or a ew hours. Got out at 0230, 74 degrees, upper McCloud very dirty as was bailey cove. Hirz bay north will go out o the water soon as will bailey, probably around the 14th o August.
City: Redding,CaTips: hula grubs on 1/2 oz ootball heads and 3/8 oz darter heads ater the ish moved up tight to the bank around 1130pm.

Report: I went ishing in the evening only or about an hour with my dad and my little sister. I anly ished an hour because my little sister was bothering me and wanted to go right away. The water level is way down. I got there at 7:15 and ished until 8:15. I started o in the cove by the boat ramp. There is a pretty good sized mat o cheese over there. I used my white snag proo or about ive minutes and got a blowup. I wasn't looking at the rog and just started to continue my retrieve and the I elt weight but beore I could set the hook he spit it out. It was only about 1.5lbs. About 5min. later I got another blowup rom a little guy about 5t. away rom where I got the other hit. I didn't set the hook too early like I have been doin and looked or the rog to see i it was gone. But it wasn't. That ish probably wasn't even a pound though and hardly even big enough to eat the rog. Ater that I ished by the boat ramp by some matted vegetation but didn't get any blowups. I caught one little 4in. bass on a Trout Magnet and then let.
City: AntiochTips: Try twitching rogs ontop o the cheese. I'm sure I probably would have gotten at least one ish out o there i I hade ished it a little longer or got there earlier. Pay close attention to your rog so you can see the strike i you don't hear it.

Water Temp: 76~77
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Skunked again! Out or about 4 hours in the aternoon around Franks & Sandmound. All new areas or me. Hot & clear. Lots o wind & traic. Not a bite. Tried weightless & T-rigged Senko's, white Wiggle Wog, popper, and drop-shotting (or the irst time). Maybe no deep water near the lats I was ishing? Maybe not enough shade? I was ishing incoming and trying to ind areas where current passed by a point or tulle clump.
City: Pittsburg, CATips: Any tips appreciated! How deep is "deep" and do weed mats -i.e., hyacinth pads count as "shade"?
-
Water Temp: 78
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out o Lads. On the water at 5:15am. High tide. Threw a Wiggle Wog most o the day. Caught ish but they were all SMALL. Most too small to suck down the bait. I think those things SUCK. Even though it is against my nature I dropshotted or some nicer ish. Shade was key. Once the tide bottomed out the bite shut o. Saw some guys with a 9+ and an 8+ at a turkey shoot weigh in. Heard buzzbaits irst thing in the AM.
City: GilroyTips: Alot o talk about cranks and blades. Still have them tied on. Try drop shotting on lats near deeper water. And its no secret SHADE.

Water Temp: 74
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished with bass guide Mark Lasange (925-787-3474). Had a great time on the water. He is very knowledgable and answered all my questions about ishing the Delta. We caught about 30 to 35 ish today with a 19" striper bonus. Most o the ish came on crankbaits and were small. We had six ish over 2 lbs. 2 going 4 lbs. one on a rog and the other on a salt and pepper spinnerbait. The day ended with a 7lb. bass exploded on a white rog! On the hook or about 2 seconds enough time to get a good look at it and away it went. Kevin and I learned more in one trip than all o our own trips combined. Well worth the investment and a lot o un. Thanks again Mark!
City: San brunoTips: We had around 15 blow-ups on a rog. Fish it hard and you will get some o the better quality ish.
-
Water Temp: 71-73

Report: Started ishing at sun up rom B&W. My partner caught alot o ish but all but 2 were dinks.Caught must o the ish on a drop-shot and senco's
City: woodlandTips: ound lots o dinks all over try senco's deep.
