Indian Valley Lake

Water Temp: 75
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I don't know why this lake gets so much negative attention. It was my irst time ishing this lake. Yes it is a long, dirty drive to get there. In my experence the hard to get to lakes are the best. And the 10mph speed limit keeps the jet skis and water skiers away. We did not ish or bass but we did catch plenty o kokanee and trout to make it worth another trip. The irst kok was 19inchs. Not bad or a kokanee. All o are ish were over 15 inchs. The 2 o us caught 3 koks and 3 trout in 4 hrs. We did lose a ew others. But it was a great day.
City: Santa RosaTips: Kokanee bugs tipped with white corn or the koks. Wedding rings tipped with a single wormwill catch both trout and koks. Use a downrigger to get down to 50-60 eet. Troll at 1-2mph. Watch or trees on the bottom. I did lose one cannon ball and lure.

Anyone no the name o the street behind the pack ponds, so i can get there beore 6 or stay past 9 with them locking the gate on me. I got a tube on the way. Whats the best area back there or a tube?
City: DublinTips: tight lines, SENKOS WORK FOR ME..

Trinity Lake

Water Temp: 77
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: This was our irst trip to Trinity during the summer time. We usually go during the spring (we live in the Modesto area). We ished the south end on Thursday. During the day we caught mostly small ish o o grubs. Picked up one keeper with a white spinner bait on the islands across rom Cedarstock. Couldn't get much in Papoose. At night, we ished the island across rom Cedarstock again and caught a ew ish that were a little better size. We then started ishing the main lake points and caught a #4 and a couple o #3's. On Friday we ished the north end. We caught a ew in the tailings o o 4 inch worms out deep but nothing up tight. We then headed to squirrel gulch and picked up several nice ish but they were deep. For those ishing the tournament Sunday (one local said there is a tournament Sunday) We graphed a lot o ish in squirrel gulch but they were deep. We caught several keepers one that was #5. We caught most o the ish o o the island out deep where the creek channel runs through. We caught them on 6" keeper worms in pumpkinseed and a chartreuse tail. You will have to be patient and work or them. We did graph a lot o ish in the tailings out deep in squirrel. My question is, why do people not night ish more at Trinity? We didn't ish the north end at night, but I am sure that we could've caught good ish at night in squirrel or in the tailings. O course, you would have to have a good moon to ish the tailings. Great Experience. Happy Fishing.

Water Temp: 76
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: First night trip o the year or me. Started o lipping 3 ish about 1.5-2 lbs beore dark. Went to good deep area or dusk bite, which was nonexistant. First 3.5 came at 10:30 on rocks. Rattlesnake arm was stingy as the island gave me nothing. An oshore rockpile produced a 4.5 on a jig ater I ished the whole thing w/a brushog. Back to lower lake around 2am and 1/4 mile o ishing inally produced a 3.5 on a weightless lure. Boy, I hope it gets a little better. I have never seen so many boats ishing at night on all the spots I like to go to. BTW, the wind didnt quit till 2:30am.
City: Yuba CityTips: It is getting warmer this week.

Amador Lake
-
Water Temp: 81
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Hit the lake at 7:30 pm with a good riend and ished until 2:30 am. Fishing was very slow - we got about 7 ish, all about 2 lbs. and under. My riend got one big bite and missed it. Even though the day was pretty windy with the Delta breeze, ater 9 pm it almost dead calm. We igured the cooler weather and nights without cloud cover had a lot to do with the poor ishing. It should pick up Saturday when the warming trend inally arrives. There was no topwater bite. The best (still pretty lousy) action was when the moon set around 2 am when we picked up a ew 1-2 pounders on crankbaits and jigs.
City: FolsomTips: Crankbaits, worms and jigs. Fish were pretty deep except or the crankbait ish.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Headed out o ORWOOD at 2:30 on Wednesday. Headed South to a long rock and weedline with current using Iovino T-Rigged worm. Caught two keepers the irst hour, a 2lb and 3+lb. The tide was low and I began throwing the rog without a single look. Moved upriver and threw the rog or another 2 hours without a single look. Decided to pick up the worm again and started hammering quality ish. I caught 20+ ish in the next 2 hours (10+ in the 2-2.5 range) and a 5.6 to cap the day. Great day on the river with little boat traic.
City: Discovery BayTips: Green weenie and R+B T-rigged were the ticket on this day. Work rom the bank to deep water and you will get solid ish. Didn't think a rod could make that much dierence but I am now convinced they do ater trying out my new LOOMIS IMX 7-oot heavy. The sensitivity and strength o this rod is worth every penny. Current, Rock, and patience will prevail. Still having a diicult time inding a consistent rog bite. Stay sae. TG.

Folsom Lake

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Wind and cool weather created one o the best crankbait bites I have ever had. Fished rom 5pm to 8pm and caught around 20 ish up to 3 lbs. Most were spots but big ish was a largemouth.
City: FolsomTips: Fished wind blown shores "uphill" with Lucky Crat Moonsault CB 350 in Pearl Ayu color. Anywhere with trees, I would cast out past them and "kneel and reel." Otherwise, I would look or shallow banks with a drop o rom 7 eet down to 15+ eet. Most bites came rom suspended ish right ater the crankbait hit the ledge o the drop o. Key was ishing uphill with the petal to the metal on the trolling motor set on 3.

Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 75
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Those o you that think I can't write a short report - watch!! Monday morning was very cool with og over part o the lake and a sti breeze. My client and I launched at the Oaks around 6 am and ished rocky areas around Rattlesnake Island looking or a big ish. We also threw a little topwater and some rogs - nothing - which didn't surprise me. This was the coolest morning in many weeks. I decided not to target big bass. We caught a ew smaller bass and I did lose a 3 to 4 pounder on a #214 Senko. Ater that I taught him how to dropshop and we spent the rest o the trip ishing a million docks without weeds and actually landed 50 bass - give or take 2 or 3. I lost count ater 40. About 10 were in the 1 3/4 to 2 1/2 pound range. Never hooked a big one though I saw them on the meter. We ished the east side o the Clearlake arm mostly - Pirate's cove, etc. It really was un - non-stop action! My client caught the biggest and the most and I think he had a great time! I know I did.
City: Yuba CityTips: I was dropshotting a 4 inch #240 Senko most o the time and I had my client using a worm that has been working well at Clear Lake lately, a Roboworm called Margarita Mutilator. With a name like that it better be special - and it was. Size didn't matter to the bass - my client used every 4 and 6 inch worm in that color that we had!! I ound it interesting that the 2002 spawn ish were in the 10 to 15 oot range and the bigger 2001 spawn ish were hangin' in the 15 to 25 oot range. I guess that makes sense!

Most o the ish are down deep.
