Water Temp: 70
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I ished Clear Lake this past weekend, man all these reports are write on. Senkos and Drop Shotting was the game plan. We through all the colors we had, picked o a ew 2 to 3 pounders on senkos around docks. Caught a ew more Drop Shotting out in the tule breaks. Ross at Tackle It in Lakeport set us up on the color's or the plastic but also turned us on to the tail end o the swim bait bite. Wow, what a ride, my irst swim bait ish, an 8 pounder, Thanks.
City: San FranciscoTips: Rig the senko wacky, I didn't even know what that was till I visited the tackle store. It made all the dierence.

Water Temp: 72-75
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well I guess this lake shuts down on the weekends. Preishing or the uture pro event I was catching our and ive pounders all over the place. Mostly on beds in the south end. However Saturday came and all the spots I had some ished tucked away were gone. Instead I caught about 15-20 ish that measured 10-12 inches. Did manage to ind one quality bedish at 6 pounds and a smaller male at 2 pounds. Weighed in those two and one small 13 inch ish to have a total o 9+ pounds. Did have one heart pounding moment when I thought I caught the biggest bass o my lie, but it ended up being a 15 pound catish. Isn't that great or the nerves with 15 minutes let in the tournament.
City: ALamoTips: Well during the week I ished beds and around docks. Senkos and tubes. Try topwater in the morning and a rog here or there. The ish seem to be all around the spawn or post-spawn modes. And you can ish or catish with tubes now.

Sonoma Lake

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Took the tube up to Yorty at 0500 this morning to try out a new rod and new plastics. On my second cast to a submerged stump I got hammered by a spawned-out emale that went 9.9 on the digital. This beats my previous Sonoma personal best by about 3.5 pounds so I was pretty stoked. Got her to hit a wacky-rigged mossy mud colored Dominator by Reaction Innovations. I think that these things just came out, but they outished the old-standby o Senko's today 2 to 1. Caught ive males in the 2-4 pound range guarding beds later on the Dominator and motoroil senkos. Best ive went 21.2 and was o the water by 1030 when the bite shut o. All ish were released to be caught again.
City: Rohnert ParkTips: Try out the Dominator. A guy at the Outdoor Pro Shop in R.P. turned me on to them, and rom what I saw today, the unky looking plastics work pretty good, plus they hold up a lot better than senkos. Fish early in the morning beore the sun hits the water, because when it does the bite shuts down.

Clear Lake

Water Temp: 65 to 71 degree
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Headed out with a buddy around 4:00 AM. Wind was blowning hard in the morning but once we got passed Williams it slowed down. We launched in Clear Oaks near the Keys, and headed to Rattle Snake Island. I picked up one ish around 1.5 lb on #221 Senko. Decided to leave and ish the south end in Konocti. Buddy picked a 3 lber under a dock on 1st cast again on a senko. Fished the docks and banks or about a 1/2 mile picking up 12 ish and 2 over 3 lbs. (bed ishing was hard on account o the breeze and algea) Went back to the keys to try and ind ish in post spawn mode. Threw a blade or while with no luck. Buddy then landed another 3 lber which made it his 3rd to my zero. It was time or me to start picking it up. Started lippin a 3/4 oz chartruse and brown jig in heavy cover with no luck. Switched to a senko and picked up a 2 lber. Then I had this weired hunch about this one point with weeds and a dock and pulled out my jig again. Flipped into this little pocket in the middle o the weeds and there she was 10lb plus. Had her on top o the water when she snapped my 20 lb P-line. Worst eeling in my lie especially when my buddy turns and says "Wow you just lost the ish o your lietime". Anyways kept ishing but was still bummed about my loss, while I watched my buddy land 2 more nice ish 3lb 15oz and 4 lber. Continued to throw another jig or a while but got tired o watching my buddy catch ish. So I switched back to the senko and caught a ew more dinks(1lb to 1.5 lb) Until we saw a male and emale on a bed under the walkway to a dock. Took my senko changed it to wacky and pitched under there and out came the 7lb 8oz emale. What a nice ish, she should have gone 8.5 or 9 but she was skinny. All 24 1/2 inches o her. That almost made up or the one I lost. Just think my two big ish could have been what my partners limit was. Anyway, enjoyed a great day with my best riend and caught some ish too...
City: MarysvilleTips: There are plenty o nice ish on beds. Give the keys a try and see what you can come up with. Flip deep in the weeds or throw the senko under trees and docks. Some guys and the ramp said they had luck in there with a rog...good luck
