Report: Made the long drive to Oroville or some pre-ishing with my buddy rom Colorado. Time to teach him what Drop-shotting was all about! Launched out o Barret's Cove with a good wind coming rom the north. Immediately headed or some less windy main lake points and ound ish in 20+ eet o water. My buddy caught a nice 2.5lb on his irst drop shot. Way to go John! We continued to ind small ish on many points, but a ew held bigger ish, so keep searching. Later in the day, we headed into the backs o coves lipping a jig and I landed 2 nice 2+ blacks and then the surprise o the day, a 4.5 black. Woohoo! That was it, time to head home and celebrate. We had a great day on the water and best 5 ish coulda went or over 12. That could've taken irst at the WON teams, but we all know that it never works that way when your IN the tourney. har! har!

O o the same wall about 10 minutes later hooked into another ish this one weighing 2.5.Partner hooked up with a small bass on a 7" crawdad colored culprit worm. Continued working deeper into the cove with no success, then headed back to the same wall and hooked up again into a 2.6. All ish were between 30-35 eet and quite sluggish. Got one 7 pound up towards Tuolumne o o some stick ups at about 25 eet two days beore. She was quite at and didn't put up much o a ight. I was quite suprised when I got here to the boat because I was expecting a much smaller ish. Both times I got blown o the water by 2:30.I'm going out right now (3/9) and taking my wie with me. Why is it I never do as well when she comes along? I'll let you know how it works out.

Careul around structure or you'll lose the rig. Bounce the wieght o the bottom to get thier interest and use your avorite attractant. Almost orgot......30 to 36 tag line ater the hook.
