Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Why is it that all the lakes in the south bay opens at 9am? By that time the best bite is over. I used to live in the south bay and when we were able to park on the levee road, we would have the best bite around 6am. Now that there is no parking there and the lake opens late I don't see fishing these lakes along with jet skiers and personnal water crafts would be that productive. Tell you what I'm living in Stockton now and the motherload lakes are kicking solid bass just like Calero use to when we were able to fish it early. Just a shame.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Heh Truth your an idiot. Guess ya must not get out to calero much. The ripbait bite will be smoking soon and the crankbait bite in September is unreal. Anyone who fishes Calero often throughout the year knows what I am talking about.

Water Temp: 50-52
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out first thing in the morning. Threw some reaction baits in the shallow water for the first hour without a bite. Moved back and dropshotted the rest of the day. Got 6 bass to 3lbs. All fish caught on 4" Roboworms.
City: San JoseTips: The fish are still in their winter pattern. They should start to stage any time now...we just need a little more warm weather. Fish slow.

Water Temp: 49-51
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Started off at 830am. Hit 2 fish spooning in the first 5 minutes. I have been catching a good number of fish spooning and decided to try something else. Worked a jig for a couple hours and nothing. The threw a rip bait for the last 2 hours and caught 4 more fish.
Spoon fish were in 25' of water and the rip fish were in 10'.
City: San JoseTips: Towards the end of the month the rip bait bite is going to go nuts. Had many 30+ fish days ripping in late february to early march.

City: San JoseTips: Let me know what the hot tips are. Sorry, I don't know.

Water Temp: 51
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: The lake is almost full and I think the city won't be filling it anymore unless we have another heavy rain. The water clarity is getting better towards cherry cove and the north end of the lake. I went out twice this past week and didn't get bit both days. Tried evrything. Tried shallow, tried deep, well deep was about 25 ft. Bait balls all around the main lake in 30ft+.
City: San JoseTips: Winter fishing is tough, couldn't buy a bite. i have to keep telling myself, "at least i'm out here". The weather has been pretty crappy so I would guess that has a lot to do with it, but i could be completely wrong. A few more weeks(or days) and it should pick up. Hopefully. MAybe I should have went to Del Valle, or Anderson, or Coyote(but it's chocolate milk over there). Maybe I should just put the rods away until the weather changes a bit.

Caught on 1/2 oz. brown jig wiht matching craw trailor off a point in about 30ft. of water. Initially threw a 3/8 oz. jig but couldnt get it down fast enough due to the wind.
City: SalinasTips: The fish hit when it was motionless...hard to try ohter techniques but im sure you could get em' drop shotting and dragging a CA-Rig...Give it shot

Report: The water clarity was actually not that bad. And the water level is real high up. Water Temp: 49.5
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Threw a jig for 30 minutes in the morning and nothing. Switched to spooning and had a awesome day. Hit a total of 15 fish from 8:30-11am. First toss with the spoon landed me a nice 4lber. After 11am I only got one fish at 2pm and it was a nice 6lber. This was a awesome day that was pretty hard to believe. Was so great I had called my buddy at 10am and told him he had to come out. Funny thing is he came out and we only got the one fish. Definately a morning bite..

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished about 2-3 hours in the morning, got one lost a couple. Dropshot very very slow. The fish that hit, really ate it. Not the funnest way to go but you can get em. After fishing for a while, motor wouldn't start so I took off. Real nice day but really bummed about the motor.
Tips: Must admit I am Still trying to figure the winter bite out here and if I could have spent a bit more time that would've helped. Slow dropshot and next time throwing a spoon.

Water Temp: 49-50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Started off at 8am with a jig and no success. Then dropshotted for another hour and nothing. Around 10am I decided to try out the spoon. First hookup was a real brute, when I spoon I kep my drag pretty tight and this fish was able to strip out some serious line before coming unbuttoned.
Continued throwing the spoon and found some awesome action in the 28' mark. Ended up catching 10 fish in the next 1.5 hours with the largest going 5.6. Lost 4-5 other fish and a couple felt real nice.
Every fish I caught the graph read 28' and I few fish were spitting up shad at the boat. Going to head out again tomorrow and try the same pattern.
