    Water Temp: 57

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Got out about 6:30am and threw the swimbait. Water was unbelievably clear. Did not have any takers after about an hour. Big front comming in and decided to go fish deeper. Fished dropshot and chrome spoon from 20 to 50 feet on points and rocky bluffs at the island, no takers. Wind came up hard at about 8:45 and cold. Big storm front moving fast, tried to stick it out. Lake got really rough and decided to come in about 9:30 am. I was extremely humbled after having some great days the last few weeks.
    City: Camarillo

Tips: No tips, but a few side notes. Did not see any fish up shallow, probably due to the front. Did see a huge catfish cruising in about 10'. I could see the bottom in about 15' of water or more. Plenty of fish suspending on the meter at about 30 feet but no takers. Tough day. Maybe do better next week.

    Water Temp: 56-59 degrees

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Got out at about 6:30am and headed straight for the west side of the island. Had two within the first 45 minutes on the dropshot. Both close to three lbs, caught in about 32' of water. 4 1/2" brown flat tail with blue stripe. Water was very clear and beautiful. Fished points and rocky bluffs real slow. Had one more strike but missed. Started to throw the Swimbait at about 8:30 and gave it a good three hours or so without any takers or followers. Should have stayed with the worm. After lunch the wind came up hard. Went with a Carolina rig with a bright purple 10" worm with flat tail and 3/4oz of lead. Hit on the first cast for a beautiful 5 lb'r. She came out of about 25' of water and jumped about 5 times like a Marlin. The wind chased me off about 2pm. Probably would have done better if I fished the worm all day but still had a great time. Good Luck!!!!
    City: Camarillo

Tips: Water was nice and clear and I took some time to scout around the shallow areas before lunch time. I saw plenty of good sized bass hanging around in the 2-6' area but none wanting to bite. It was real exciting to see a few up from the deep. Shallow bite comming soon??

    Water Temp: 57

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the afternoon into evening bite. It was pretty windy on the lake with the wind really coming out of the north, started to settle down around 5:00. Was throwing the swimbait and got a chunky 3 1/2lb. Went to a couple of points to throw the dropshot as the sun was getting ready to set and caught 3 fish on 5 casts all were 1 1/2 to 3lbs. Went to one last point before calling it a day and as we were pulling up saw a bass chasing a trout. Out goes my swimbait and on the second cast I nail a good one. He went 7.9 on my digital. A great way to finish off the day.
    City: ventura

Tips: If dropshotting fish it slow, the fish are starting to move up shallower. A few fish starting to take interest in the big baits.

    Water Temp: 55

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished from daybreak until 2:30 in the pouring rain. Had a good time trying to figure out the fish on a different lake than my home waters. I did okay. Nothing to shout about. Somebody came up to another boat around 8 this morning hoot'n and hollering and all I heard across the water was 5???? fish? weight? whatever.... There had been a trout plant on Friday and I resisted the urge to throw a trout bait even though it should have produced in the rain and overcast sky. I just wasn't in the mood to huck the big stuff so I went about trying to find why the fish on my meter wouldn't eat. I did get fish on this day and to me it was a pattern in a pattern. It seemed as though the fish were just inside the small cuts of the coves IF there was wood on the inside. I used a 1 0z. jig the entire day and had 4 fish from 6 pounds to 2...I had three dinks on the day. My most productive range was 30-35 feet on this day. Spider grubs in grape and Cinnammon black flake worked well. the better fish came on the grape with a brown football jig head. I wasted a half an hour just after first light when out of the corner of my eye I clearly saw the swirl from a fish. I tossed my Matt Lure bluegill for a while thinking it was going to payoff bigtime on the type of bank I was fishing ( sloped with rocks ) however when I again saw the swirl I noted the underbelly of the fish and it was a carp. I went back to my original game plan and stuck with ledges for the day. No trophies but I like to fish by myself in the rain so It was all good.
    City: Santa Barbara

Tips: The swimbait bite should be in full swing for us AFTER this next full moon is my prediction. To the anglers who enjoyed less than stellar results I can only give this tip. SLOW DOWN. I saw folks fishing faster than I do in August!!!!Take your time and let your fish answer the question as to what's going on. No fish? Get out a worm rod and you'll find something going on out in 25+ water.... Beating the banks in January has seldom been the ticket in my experience

    Water Temp: 55-57

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got on the water first thing in the morning. Got a 5lb on swimbait. Was dragging it real slow up a point and he inhaled it. Committed to throwing the swimbait the rest of the morning, and did not get any more bites or followers. Have heard there has been a good jig bite and worm bite but couldnt get myself to pull those rods out of the locker. Beautiful day on the water, too good.
    City: Ventura

Tips: Looked like lots of people fish structure on some of the flats in fairly deep water. Im sure you can get some fishing worms and jigs.

    Water Temp: 55

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got out first thing at opening and had three the first hour. Drop shotting from 20 to 50 feet. Two were about 2lbs one really fat 5lb'r. I was fishing real, real slow. Held boat in 50-60 feet of water and made long casts toward rocky bluffs at the main island. Did not get another fish until about 10:30. Another 2lb'r. From 10:30 to 11:30 or so I had three more all about the same size until about 12:30 I got a fat sow about six lbs. Fish were all deep and all on drop shotted 4" flat tail hand pours oxblood with a reddish flake. Last three fish were on the same beat up worm. Seven total fish, beautiful weather, calm water until I went home about 1pm.
    City: Camarillo

Tips: Deep and slow. I dont know what everybody else was doing but I fished deep & slow. Seemed to be a good pattern. Made long casts toward shore around the island with some casts taking up to 5 plus minutes to get back in the boat. Found 57 degree water on west side of the island and had better success but 55 degree most everywhere else. Good Luck!!!!

    Water Temp: 56-59 Deg

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got out on the water about 2pm just as the droves of boats were pulling out to catch the Super Bowl. I fished until about 4:30 pm and caught two about three pounds on the drop shot fished at 40'. The fish were fat porkers maybe full of eggs. Wish I would have gotten there sooner or could have stayed later. Got bit one other time but missed. Water was beautiful and flat.
    City: Camarillo

Tips: Slow drop shot deep seems to be a great pattern right now. Did really well last week with this same pattern. Fished secondary points and had fish all over the meter at 40'. 4" flat worm in oxblood/flake color.
