Report: Launched at Bailey Cove at 6:30. Fished the McCloud all day.My buddy and I caught 33 ish on the day. We didn't catch many big ish, but not many real dinks either. 1.15,1.13,1.10 and 1.8 were the big ish. Every ish was taken on 39 colored worms. Couldn't get bit on the Hula grubs that had been working well in the past couple o weeks. Many o our ish were taken in 10 eet o water or less. Reddish brown banks with rocky points were the key to the more shallow ish.

Tips: Fish very slowly. Sometimes just let the worm lay on the bottom ater shaking it or a while. Can't beat a 39 worm.

Report: Fished a tournament on Sunday, shasta Cascade bass anglers. Did very well, I won it. The ish are on the move they are hungry, and are changing there locations dailey,so you have to look or them and pay attention to the subtleties o nature. Nature will tell you what she is doing i you liston. Last weekend I got second place in the sunday redding bassers, and I sat on one point or 5 hour culling two pounders by noon. This sunday things changed I couldn't catch anything on that point. So I had to go look or ish and just started down the bank,I couldn't ind any good ish on the points, they had moved to the cuts and on the washouts.I never caught two good keeper on one spot. I just targeted the same structure every place I ished. Unortunatly I lost a six pound pluse ish at the boat reaching or my net. Would have liked to weigh that one in. Caught everything on jigs in the mouth on the Sac. Brown on Brown. Try throwing them to the bank and shacking them all the way back to the boat and hold your boat in 50 eet o water.Stopped to take a brake and drop shotted three ish and none o them were as big as the jig ish.
    City: Redding

Tips: Throw jigs, jigs and more jigs. Try shacking the hell out o them.

I have ande awakened at 330am and said what the heck. went to Jones Valley at 430am, air temp a brisk 27 degrees, lake up to 37.5 t slight wind out o the north, get in and run slowly over to some submerged humps across rom the ramp, start throwing a 3/4 ootball head with a yamamoto twin tail on it on two dierent humps with ish on them rom 9t to 34 eet but no go, move east to an island and throw at some 10t water and boat one at 1.8 at 505am. go around the other side o this island and catch another one right on the bank, 1.6 lbs. move o a bit into deeper waster and drag a bit in the 25-35 t depth but can't get anything to go. pull up and head out a bit towards jones valley point. get out there as the pink starts to glow in the east and now the trolling motor won't work, the light comes on but it won't run DAMN! its got to be the switch so back in I go and out o the water at 645am with a beautiul but very cold sunrise on the way. I was not surprised at catching a ish or two but I was surprised at getting them so shallow. Most were in the 15-30 t depth but thre are a ew shallow ish to be had. gotta get this motor ixed and get back out there today, temp on the rise to 60 plus degrees, water clearing up but we need rain to ill this puppy up.

Report: In at 12 noon at Bailey Cove. Installed new Pinpoint on bow so had to try it out. Should have picked a better day or a test run. Cold wind out o the north, spent our hours playing with the new depthinder, trying to stay out o the wind, and trying to ish. Well, the depthinder had it's problems (which I think were operator error), couldn't stay out o the wind, and got skunked as ar as the ishing. The Blonde in the back even got skunked. That lead me to believe that the ishing is really tough. We had maybe 3 or 4 bites between us. Better luck next time.
