Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the Dry Creek arm o the lake today. Clarity is about one oot to our eet. Surace temperature is about 60 - 62 F. WarmSprings arm o the lake has warmer water and much more clarity. The largemouth are not spawning yet. Last spawn was just beoreChristmas, but we lost all when the lake levels were dropped without consideration or the bass. The males stayed on their nests untilthe last minute. Wish DFG would get out and talk to those o us that ish the lakes???? Present day (04-30-2000) the males arechecking out potential spawning locations and the big emales are cruising just o the drop os. We were ishing up or size in lessthan two hours. We caught some nice ish, but they were only just over our pounds and one over ive. None under our. We wereusing 8 and 11 inch custom made worms. This was a good quality ishing day. The smallmouth have alreadyspawned and the malesare holding on the nests in about 12 eet o water. The next two weeks should be easy ishing or most anglers. The rainbow trout areholding at about 28 eet and should be easy or those who have downriggers and know how to rig 00 dodgers with one inchminnows. Saludos, Wes
    City: Healdsburg

Tips: Fish slow - about 2 to three hours to cover 100 yards o bank- mask scent o your boat. Use large custom made worms - 8 to 12 inches long is just about right.

Report: Well my irst mistake was telling my ishing other, I hope it rains today. Because everybody knows the ish turn on in the rain. Mother natures sick idea o a joke was to come down on us all day, non-stop without a peek at some clear blue! Oh well, were're die hards so we ished it anyway. There was a tournament going on. We weren't part o that but I'm curious how they did. My partner got three around 9am on texas rigged sot plastic. One o them was kind nice...maybe 2lbs...hard to say, I reused to take a good look. Spent most o the day hoping the wet wouldn't get in through the weep holes in my rain gear. About 1:30pm I inally got two little dinks, that I'm sorry to say, I was pleased to see. My irst large mouth o 2000! I don't get out as much as I use to...I've been busy okay! Ater my third layer o clothing was penetrated with water, we called it a day at 4pm. I'm still telling mysel I had un.

Report: three reports in one! - two weeks ago - ished Sonoma or the irst time - beautiul lake! sunny day, caught about 15 split shotting plastics.one week ago (ok i was preishing) ran all over the lake and ound three good spots that produced multiple ish. caught about 20. cool. 5 ish limit would have been about 12 lbs. way cool.tourneyday - caught numbers, but the ish were way smaller - only managed 6.5 lbs or 5 ish. Yup - lots o bucks, no she-bass. 12 lbs won the tourney.
    City: Belmont

Tips: split shot or c-rig plastics. Small to get limit, then upgrade in size or kickers. Temperature seemed to matter a LOT - look or warmer pockets and coves. They were staging, some early bed ish ish, but...

Report: My ishing partner and I decided to bring our riend who has never ished or black bass and who hasn't ished in over 10 years to Lake Sonoma. The prior week my partner and I ished the same area in Lake Sonoma and caught and release 35 black bass in 5 hours. So we igure the action should be as just as torid today. Was it, no. We did catch our limits. Even our irst time bass isherman riend caught 6 black bass. Each o us caught and release 6 black bass apiece. The biggest was 2 1/2 lbs and the smallest being 11 inch. The action has slow down due to the change in weather, a storm was coming in. The majority o the bass were caught beore 10:30 am.
    City: San Mateo

Tips: Every one o the bass were caught on Brown Yamamoto twin tail grub on a 3/8 ounce jig head. We try other plastic bait and got hit a couple o time but the bass that day went or the spider jig.

My irst ish o the day was 3.2lb. lunker, caught on a Christmas tree pumkin reeper-"lie is good". Only minutes later...BAM! A 3.5lb. "Momma"! At the end o the day I landed three "beauties" over 3lbs.,two 2lbers,and about 7 little "babes". Ernie caught 5 little bass and "ate crow". It rained a bit but it was still a great day! Tomarrow we'll try Clear Lake.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Starting to get good, a lot depends on what the weather is doing. Most o the bites on plastics are suttle and the ish are just beginning to chase and pursue the lure. Had luck with crank baits, sot worms and rip baits.
    City: Windsor

Tips: The bite is getting good. Last two trips have been averaging 7-10 ish in a couple o hours. Purple worm seems to be working the best, rigged Texas style. The lake is warming up and most o the ish are in 7 to 10 eet o water adjacent to grass. My boat partner lost a big one, due to being too excited and technical diiculties.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fishing is just red hot. I ished or 4 hours and boated 32 ish. I did have a lot o 10-13 inch ish but the biggest was a 5.5 lb. The word that I have been getting is that baby brush hogs are the way to go. This is true i you want small ish. The bigger ish were cought on lagre salamander patterns. Green and purples were the colors to have. Spinnerbait bite is still very good.
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Dont limit yoursel to short casts. I had many ish hit in areas were I was about to bring the bait in because I thought I was to ar rom the shore. Also, i your see those unny loooking signs in the water that say "no wake" you might wish to consider slowing down!!! Ater all it is the law.
