We throw out the worm set the rod DOWN and waste time counting to atleast 30,then sweep set.I you move the worm they won't hit.I started using a 4t rod with 4lb line,tu to cast but alot o un!I talked to another ella that said he released two 4lbers, so these ish will eat you just have to keep changing until you trick em.

      Water Temp: 54

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Where is the global warming at Clear Lake? I keep waiting. As you may know, the water temp has dropped about 6 degrees in the last week or so, and most o the bass have moved out o the shallows. During a day trip Tues, we did manage 3 shallow bass up to 5 lbs on Senkos, but that was it. Client got the 5 under a dock in Konocti Bay. Tues night, in nasty wind that never quit, my next clients and I did manage a nice 23 lb limit, 8 bass total, up to 7 lbs. Most o the ish were about 15 eet deep, and were caught on Power and brush hogs. Jig bite was o. I was surprised that the ish were more active at night in the cool weather than in the daytime. The sun was out Tues, but too much wind I guess to warm the water any.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Back to jigs in deeper water or awhile? Don't waste too much time in shallow water until the lake warms up again. Surace should be at least 58 degrees.

Report: Fished Sonoma or the irst time in awhile. Launched at 10:30, came in at 7:15. It was a blustery and cool day on the lake, which mustve slowed the bite. Me and my partner Rus hooked over 20 and landed 18 with no size....best ish was about 2 3/4 lbs. We caught a ew lipping brush, but the best technique today was shaking or dartheading a small worm in about 15' o water. With a ew warm days in a row, look or the awesome spring bite to return to normal on this lake.
      City: San Mateo

Tips: Secondary points w/ small plastics till it warms up!!!

Used watermelon senkos and green pumpkin brush hogs. All ish 2-3 lbs. Caught 4, lost several. Saw some 4-5 lb emales on nests, mainly Jackson arm. Bait shop says north side o lake bass spawned already, but south side may still be happening. Tough daytime ishing, couldn't get anything to bite. Hated the pothole ridden roads leading to campsites. Tough on the bass boat trailer!Uncut grass around the place gave me terrible allergies. Any tips on ishing Amador appreciated.

Report: I am blowing up. Thought I'd go out this evening ater work- casual- no report, but I have to give props to Scott with the Astro or nailing a 10lb tonight. At the time the severe storm warning disrupted your episode o Dukes o Hazard this evening, I on the lake writing the script or the sequel to The Perect Storm. It's called The Perectly Stupid Bass Angler Fishing in the Storm. It's based on a true story. I could see it coming, but I landed a 12" smallie on a worm o a point and igured I had just established a pattern. Funny how subtle cues make you adjust your pattern. For me it was multiple lightining strikes. It encouraged me to quickly run to the nearest cove and beach the boat. Once the storm passed caught a limit beore sundown including a 4lb largemouth- 4 on worms, one on a blade.
      City: El Dorado Hills

Tips: Seasonally speaking, lightning on an open lake will disrupt your concentration ishing reaction. Go to worms and jigs- it will help you ocus. Don't mistake the clap o thunder or a strike.

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Still windy, but they are moving back up. This time I had at least thirty bites and way off shore again. Monday only got two bites at the ramp but the very next day over thirty and I never moved an inch from my first spot. What a difference a day can make. Caught many dinks and a few around two pounds. I think bringing the boat out is in order to cover some good deep points and track down some of the big girls. Met a nice guy and showed him what I was doing. He proceded to catch some fish to and was very happy about it, ain't fishin' great.
      City: Mountain View

Tips: Tubes and staight tail worms got my bites. The tubes caught the bigger fish.

Report: First post on this board. Went fishing at Calero around 1:30pm. Met a really good fisherman named CV. He gave me a few pointers on bass fishing then I began to catch a few bass. CV if you are reading this. Thank you. I wish more people would take time and help beginning fisherman to enjoy this great sport. Everyday I thank God for my wonderful life and try to get out as much as I can. Whenever I catch a fish, if there is a kid around I call him over and let him reel it in. It is exciting watching a kid catch a fish. If everyone takes time and show kindness to another human being , It makes the world a whole nicer place. Sorry for all the rambling, the fish are biting so I look forward to seeing you on the lake. Please practice catch and release. Again CV. Thank you for making me a little better fisher!

      Water Temp: Mid 50's

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: More run-off hit the area today. I went 3 hours this morning without a bite. The wind picked up pretty good. I missed one nice jig bass in the back of the cove as the tide started to change and go out. With the water temp going down and the bad water clarity I decided to work the "Meat Wall" out in the channel with a crankbait. I finally hooked up two nice bass about 2lbs. each. Tough conditions today, but I love the challenge. If anybody in the area and see's a nice custom Valco bass boat you've just found the Bass Buster. I am still looking to find partners to fish Stockton Bass or Valley Bait (Delta) tournaments. Contact Ken at Stockton Bass for my phone #. Have a nice day and catch a Hogg!!
      City: Stockton/Ladd's Marina

Tips: Need to find clearer water and some warmer temps. Last resort crank the "Meat Wall" for some recycled bass.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Threw Carolina rig straight tail worms and light jigs. Caught 15 fish, 9 from one point and over 100 feet out. Did not catch anything in close to the bank. Fish have definately moved out but were biting once you got it to them. Natural no flake colors were the best. Use sent and fish slow. Couldn't get bit with the normal plastics for this lake (brush-hogs, lizards, etc.), only the 4" worm. Bite should get better this week with the steady temp. forecasts.
